Donald Glover raps under the stage name Childish Gambino. Raised just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, Glover has a versatile résumé, with an array of established talents including acting and stand up comedy but with his debut commercial album, Camp, it’s his music and the battle-ready rhymes in his songs that’s currently got everyone talking and T in the Park fans will see why this summer.
For fans who like to throw the very best of pure pop into their festival mix, T in the Park are pleased to welcome McFly. They may have started off as a squeaky clean pop band, but these boys have grown up! McFly are a boy band with a big difference, having managed to break away from their recording deal to launch their own independent label to allow them artistic and creative freedom. Their songs have matured with them and huge hits such as Shine a Light with Taio Cruz have given them massive crossover appeal. Currently completing their Keep Calm and Play Louder Tour,McFly will be all fired up and ready to rock at T in the Park 2012.
Cher Lloyd has the edge and attitude to hit the headlines and the charts with her own unique style. Her debut single Swagger Jagger went to No.1 and was taken from Top 5 debut album Sticks + Stones. Her success captured the attention of legendary music producer L.A. Reid who quickly signed her to Epic Records in USA, where Cher Lloyd’s success is also set to soar.
Barbados quartet Cover Drive dominated the airwaves with one of this year’s biggest pop hits Twilight which debuted at No.1 earlier this year. New single Sparks is set to light up the charts when it’s released in April (22), preceding debut album Bajan Stylewhich features tracks produced by the team behind Rihanna and Jason Derulo.
Art-pop foursome Django Django consists of vocalist and guitarist Vinny Neff, drummer Dave Maclean (brother of Beta Band’s John Maclean), Jimmy Dixon on bass and Tommy Grace on keyboards. The band are also making a name for themselves on the live circuit and are currently touring Europe with The Maccabees. Reverend and the Makers’ massive top 10 single Heavyweight Champion of the World announced their arrival as a huge force on the UK indie scene. Californian psych rockers TheBrian Jonestown Massacre achieved cult status with their starring role in the notorious 2004 rockumentary Dig! The band won themselves even more fans when their track Straight Up and Down was used as the opening theme to hit TV series Boardwalk Empire. With their legendary psychedelic jams and killer hooks, they’ll no doubt treat the crowd to old hits, as well as new material from the soon to be released Aufheben, their 13th studio album to date.
York-born acoustic singer-songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich is hotly tipped for the top. His first single, Pictures (taken from his EP of the same name), was declared "The Hottest Record in the World Today" by Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, and his majestic debut album Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm is earning him major critical acclaim.
London five-piece Zulu Winter are also capturing the eyes and ears of fans and critics alike and the quintet’s catchy and anthemic indie-dance, atmospheric synth-pop went down a storm at their recent NME Awards show.
The Milk have been enjoying major airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music courtesy of Huey Morgan and with their influences ranging from classic Motown to the Beastie Boys, their edgy blend of hip-hop, dub, dance and punk is sure to impress on their T in the Park debut.
California-based roots rock band Dawes make their big debut this summer. Their rich West Coast harmonies and vintage Americana sound has earned them comparisons to Crosby, Stills and Nash and Neil Young, and they’ll showcase material from their highly acclaimed second album Nothing is Wrong.
Balado will be booming with the big beats and heavy basslines of London-based drum and bass act Nero. Kasabian are certainly on fire right now, with their fourth studio album Velociraptor taking the group to stratospheric new levels. The follow-up to the acclaimed West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, the current album was recorded in Leicester, mixed in San Francisco and written and produced by the group’s guitarist Sergio Pizzorno. Kasabian are an incendiary live act who consistently top the polls of the bands festival fans want to see. Currently up for three NME Awards (Best Live Band, Best British Band, Greatest Music Moment of the Year), Kasabian first played T in the Park in 2004 and have been consistently championed by T in the Parkers ever since. The Leicester lads make a very welcome return to the top of the bill to bring T in the Park 2012 to a raucous close.

For fifth studio album Nothing But the Beat, Guetta introduced rock influences to his dance beats and upped the ante yet again with smash hit tracks Where Them Girls At and Without You. David Guetta boasts some of the biggest tunes in the business right now and will be blasting them loud at Balado this summer.
Calvin Harris has gone from producing tracks in his bedroom in Dumfries to internationally renowned DJ, producer, singer, songwriter phenomenon. Calvin’s second album Ready For the Weekend went straight to the No.1 spot and spawned massive hit after hit single, gaining him further attention from fans as well artists in demand of his record producing skills. Credited for being the most successful songwriter in the UK singles chart in 2011 and following a stint on tour with Rhianna, the pair collaborated on smash hit single We Found Love, which catapulted them to the to the top of the charts the world over. Calvin Harris is close to T in the Park’s heart and fans will surely agree that it feels so good to have him back at Balado.
Elbow are a band renowned for their stunning songwriting ability as well as their amazing live performances. Since forming in 1990, the band have been recognised for both, achieving an accolade of awards including two Ivor Novello Awards for best contemporary song and best song musically and lyrically for the singles Grounds for Divorce and One Day Like This respectively.
