Loco Dice, John Digweed, Adam Beyer + more added to SW4 lineup

ANNOUNCED FOR SW4 SATURDAY

CARL COX & FRIENDS ARENA FEATURING:
CARL COX & LOCO DICE B2B
[FIRST TIME EVER IN THE UK]
MARCO CAROLA · ADAM BEYER
GUTI [LIVE] · HECTOR
& VERY SPECIAL GUEST
CARL CRAIG

Having previously announced that one of our most loved DJs will return to South West Four this summer, we can now confirm that Carl Cox will host his own arena on Saturday 24th August. Carl will showcase only the biggest names in techno, as well as take to the decks with one of dance music’s most esteemed artists for the first time ever in the UK.

Carl Cox and Loco Dice back-to-back. A meeting of minds. A meeting of masters. Last summer these two virtuosos went head-to-head at the closing party of Carl’s world renowned residency at Space Ibiza. In 2013 South West Four is delighted to present the return bout, as these two techno titans lock horns for the first time ever in the UK. This is one for the history books.

Loco Dice

The past few years has seen Loco Dice’s stature rise immeasurably to become one of the most devastating and respected DJs on the planet. His Desolat imprint is home to some of the world’s most prolific electronic talent, whilst his sense for sounds and innate understanding of dancefloors is what distinguishes him from other DJs. Heavily influenced by his legendary performances on the Amnesia Ibiza terrace for Cocoon, Loco Dice remains a hugely popular figure, as evident again at his sold out residency at Electric Brixton across the recent Easter weekend. The next opportunity to catch this tremendously sought after DJ in London is at SW4, a chance that should not be spurned.

As figurehead of the Swedish techno scene and Drumcode Records label boss, Adam Beyer has turned heads worldwide with his sensational performances for many years. Since establishing Drumcode in 1996, the labels forward thinking, passionate and uncompromising laurels have stayed true. Undeterred by the demise of many other labels which started around the same time, Drumcode has always been one to push the envelope and is part of the reason why the label is still flourishing today. Adam’s Drumcode podcast attracts a healthy seven million listeners every week, whilst his last appearance at South West Four, where he headlined his own Drumcode arena in 2011, proved one of the highlights of the weekend. In 2013 the message is clear; Beyer is at his best, do not miss out.

Carl Craig; A visionary, an innovator and an ambassador for the Detroit techno scene. Since releasing his first track back in 1989, The Grammy nominated artist has chalked up a phenomenal career and continues to motivate music lovers of all ages with as much power and intensity. Since his early days he has gone on to release a plethora of his own material and remix well over one hundred tracks. Always forward thinking, the Planet E head honcho has managed to reinvent himself time and again and prove an inspiration to everyone along the way. Making his South West Four debut this year, we are delighted to welcome one of the greats, as Carl Craig joins us on Clapham Common this August Bank Holiday weekend.

Having being brought up in an exceptionally musical family, Guti was first a classically trained jazz musician, before playing to packed stadiums across South America in a rock band. It wasn’t until 2006 that he started to create techno, but of course with his jazz, rock and latin influences all playing an important part in the process. Since then he has gone on to release music on labels such as Wolf & Lamb, Saved, Carl Cox’s Intec and Loco Dice’s Desolat. This summer you can catch his outstanding talent at South West Four, where he will showcase his highly impressive live show.

Hector is one of the most exciting young DJs on the planet, effortlessly experimenting with the founding spirit of house. With a string of high profile releases to his name on labels such as Desolat, Tsuba and Saved, Hector has come a long distance since he started DJing in his native Mexico at the tender age of 16. A move to England soon beckoned, where he fell in love with London’s music scene and where he has remained ever since. The Mexican’s passion for music knows no boundaries. His DJ sets are full of energy, precision and soul, whilst his own productions are always on point; sophisticated and cultured. The future of house music is about to take flight at SW4, make sure you’re on board.

ANNOUNCED FOR SW4 SUNDAY

BEDROCK ARENA FEATURING:
ERIC PRYDZ · BOYS NOIZE [LIVE]
LAURENT GARNIER · JOHN DIGWEED
TIM GREEN [DEBUT LIVE SHOW]

There are not many other DJs as synonymous with South West Four as John Digweed. 2013 represents his ninth consecutive performance at the festival, more than any other artist. With one eye firmly on the future, John’s philosophy embodies South West Four, whilst his ingenuity, dedication and all round ability to destroy dancefloors is why we always welcome him back to Clapham Common with open arms. John’s performances at Bedrock have helped build the label’s reputation as one of the most acclaimed club nights in underground dance music, welcoming international talent of the highest calibre at each event. Having hosted Bedrock arenas at SW4 in 2007, 2010 and 2012, it makes perfect sense for John to bring Bedrock back for our 10th Anniversary as his thrilling legacy at SW4 continues with his label’s greatest artist showcase to date.

Eric Prydz

Frenchman Laurent Garnier is a name that goes hand in hand with dance music. One of Europe’s most celebrated electronic artists, Laurent has been making the planet dance for the last 25 years. Having gained a reputation as one of the finest DJs in the world and produced a wealth of techno classics in the studio, Laurent has won the hearts of millions of artists and music lovers via his own hypnotic and alluring beat. His quest to find only the very best music remains relentless, as Laurent’s radio shows and DJ sets continue to illustrate his insatiable appetite for what’s new. Having delivered arguably the finest performance on Clapham Common in 2011, Laurent remains a huge favourite with everyone at South West Four HQ and we are honoured to welcome him back for the 10th Anniversary.

From bedroom producer to acclaimed electronic artist, Tim Green’s rise to stardom over the past few years has been nothing short of relentless. The capability of his craft seems endless, securing releases on labels like Dirtybird, Get Physical and Saved and outstanding remixes of Cassius, Booka Shade and Claude Von Stroke. Having taken his DJ sets to every corner of the globe, the spotlight now turns to his highly anticipated live show, which he debuts at South West Four on Sunday 25th August. Special doesn’t even come close.

SATURDAY & WEEKEND TICKETS INCREASE IN PRICE THURSDAY 4TH APRIL AT MIDDAY

As we move ever closer to South West Four’s 10th Anniversary, interest in tickets rises yet further. With five months still to go we can confirm that 50% OF ALL SATURDAY TICKETS HAVE ALREADY SOLD and that ‘saver’ tickets are rapidly running out. With this new batch of DJs and live acts set to raise demand even greater, we are giving you until this Thursday at midday at which point both Saturday and weekend tickets will increase in price. You have been warned!

Eric Prydz only London show for 2013 at SW4

A total of twenty acts have been announced for SW4 2013 so far, ranging from UK festival exclusives in the form of Armin van Buuren and Boys Noize [Live], to rare UK performances from Marco Carola, Solomun and Nicky Romero, to never before seen back-to-backs like that between 2 step legends Todd Edwards and EZ. With a further 50 acts still to come, including the majority of our headline DJs, South West Four’s 10th Anniversary is all set to be the biggest celebration of dance music London has ever witnessed. The first of these headline DJs playing the Sunday can now be announced. A man who has enjoyed an intricate love affair with SW4 and a firm favourite of all in attendance. That man is Eric Prydz.

Eric Prydz and South West Four have an immense history together. Prydz used to live in Clapham and his huge productions have been the soundtrack to the festival for many years. This was highlighted more than ever last year with the release of ‘SW4’, another dancefloor destroying studio effort which has since gone down as one of the finest tracks Eric has ever released.

Eric Prydz

As one of the most in demand DJs of the last decade, Eric’s own brand of uplifting piano based house registers him as one of the most popular and accomplished acts to ever grace our sacred stages. This will be the fourth time Eric has played SW4 in the past five years. In fact one of our posters would look peculiar without his name brazen across it.

Last year the Grammy nominated producer showed yet again why his polished performances remain one of clubland’s great wonders. Thousands squeezed into the Together arena to witness one of the finest and most infectious sets of SW4 2012. Since then the South West Four favourite has relocated to the States to commence a critically acclaimed ‘Black Dice’ residency in Las Vegas, whilst his monthly EPIC podcast has been essential listening. He returns to South West Four for his only London show of 2013, making this his most important and significant Clapham Common performance to date.

SW4 announce Example as Sunday headliner + more!

“Having played football on Clapham Common as a kid, I couldn’t be more proud to close South West Four’s 10thAnniversary. SW4 is now one of the most important festivals on the circuit and I've enjoyed watching it grow over recent years – it's been almost 6 years since I last played Clapham Common just before my first album was released! You can't beat a weekend of raving on the Common so I expect to see you all down there! This is going to be a very special show!”  Example

ExampleFestival goers: Prepare yourselves. On Sunday 25th August one of the most exciting live acts on Earth will be homeward bound and heading to South West Four for the biggest headline show of his career. That act is Example. His string of top 10 hits includes #1’s ‘Changed the Way You Kiss Me’ and ‘Stay Awake’, whilst albums ‘Won't Go Quietly’, ‘Playing in the Shadows’ and ‘The Evolution of Man’ have helped elevate him to become the jewel in the crown of contemporary British music. His hugely successful collaborations with Calvin Harris, Laidback Luke, Nero and SW4 2012 headliners Chase & Status, have also resulted in chart success and provided the foundations for sell out arena tours of the UK and Europe. His return to London for a full live show will witness a performance packed to the rafters with hit after hit, as Example illustrates why he is truly one of the hottest properties in music right now. In what will be his final London showcase of 2013, Example will be at the top of his game to ensure he brings down the curtain on our 10th Anniversary in thrilling fashion.

Joining Example on SW4 Sunday is RAM records head honcho Andy C, who returns to play the main stage for the very first time. Last year Andy’s epic RAM Records 20th Anniversary arena was widely regarded as one of the highlights of the festival, with a stellar ‘Alive’ set taking the roof off the stage. Since then Andy has cemented his position as the most influential artist in drum and bass by winning the ‘Best DJ’ title at the 2012 Drum and Bass Arena Awards, whilst RAM picked up ‘Best label.’ The Executioner’s return to South West Four for a very special open air performance will allow him to illustrate his technical genius infront of more people than ever. Andy really is a man that has done it all and we are thrilled to lock him in for what promises to be a spectacular set.

Dillon Francis is the self-proclaimed king of Moombahton. The LA born and bred producer has made some colossal waves across the scene since his SW4 debut last summer. Dillon has recently collaborated with Calvin Harris, Jack Beats, A-Trak and our Sunday headliner Example, as well as remix the likes of Zedd, Digitalism and Madeon. Consistently tipped for the top, Dillon is widely recognised as protégé to Dilpo, having released music on the Mad Decent imprint and Skrillex’s label OWSLA.

Alongside Baauer, Flosstradamus are at the forefront of the Trap movement, which blends southern style hip-hop with electronic elements. Flosstradamus gained fame with their remixes of Sub Focus, Usher and most emphatically their bone breaking remix of the Major Lazer anthem ‘Original Don’. The Chicago duo’s high energy sets make for a fun yet raucous and often riot inducing experience. Mad Decent and Fools Gold are amongst the imprints that have released their productions and with further releases in the pipeline 2013 is going to be an important year. SW4 – you have been warned.

Todd Edwards and EZ; Two founding fathers and legends of UK Garage, from different sides of The Pond. As vital and influential now as they have ever been, Todd and EZ have never performed together. That is until now. This is one of a series of world exclusive back-to-back sets due to be showcased at SW4’s 10th Anniversary that bring together the planet’s greatest artists for a unique performance. From his humble beginnings as a DJ on London pirate radio stations, through to tying down a prime time Kiss FM show and achieving platinum album sales for his mixes on the Pure Garage series, this will be EZ’s long-awaited maiden voyage aboard the good ship SW4. He will be joined by New Jersey’s Todd Edwards, a founding member of the 2-step movement. His innovative way of blending cut up, vocal samples with chirpy bass lines and sharp percussion has gained him a huge fanbase since his arrival on the scene back in ‘92. Over the years he has remixed Justice, St. Germain and more recently UK stalwarts Katy B and Jessie Ware. The American born veteran, who co-produced and sang on the Daft Punk song ‘Face to Face’, continues to influence countless producers and is welcomed to SW4 with open arms.

Another exclusive and hugely exciting back-to-back set at SW4 2013 comes in the form of Dimsantle and Roska. Brighton’s Dismantle is a DJ and Producer who blurs the lines between dubstep and house to create something of a carnival induced frenzy. As one of the most hotly tipped new producers to hail from the UK, Dismantle has gained major support from Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Skream and Diplo, whilst last year he signed to Shy FX’s Digital Soundboy label. With a new album due out later this year, we are genuinely thrilled to welcome to SW4 the heir to the throne of UK bass.

As an integral part of the Rinse family since 2009, Roska is a man whose roots stem deep into the UK bass scene. His weekly show on Rinse FM has proved the catalyst from which he can broadcast not only his own work but also the music he loves. His deep affection of numerous genres can be heard not just on his radio show but also his own productions; a fiery cocktail of grime, dubstep and garage mixed with house flavours. His own imprints Roska Kicks and Snares have given him a format to release his own work and that of likeminded artists, much of which will no doubt be heard during his Clapham Common performance.

PLUS NEW ACTS ADDED TO SW4 SATURDAY

LAIDBACK LUKE · GARETH EMERY

TENSNAKE [LIVE] · SUNNERY JAMES & RYAN MARCIANO

Laidback Luke has been a huge player at South West Four in recent years. However, contrary to his name, Lucas van Scheppingen is anything but laid back. The Laidback Lukeenergy the Dutch powerhouse puts into his live performances is unrivalled, whilst the man’s talent is unfathomable. With so many credentials to his name, whether it’s a huge string of releases of his own material or remixes of artists across the spectrum, the Filipino born house DJ is living and breathing proof that there’s way more to Holland than Windmills and Clogs. And that’s before we get to his own club brand ‘Super You&Me’, conceptual superhero themed events which have been selling out shows worldwide including a special weekender at Electric Brixton earlier this year. Luke is one of house music’s most thrilling figureheads and we are cannot wait for his intense basslines and party fuelling sounds to rock our 10th Anniversary to the core.

The mother fuc*ing saga continues! That now infamous line can only mean one thing; that Mr Emery is back at South West Four, bringing his forward thinking trance and uplifting sounds with him. The rise and rise of Gareth Emery represents somewhat of a fairytale. For the past decade he has had involvement with dozens of tracks, whether, it's producing, remixing or collaborating. In the last twelve months alone Gareth has cemented his legacy with a sell out tour Stateside, capped by a groundbreaking YouTube broadcast of his Govenor's Island gig, which captivated millions online. Last October witnessed the 200th episode of his award winning ‘The Gareth Emery Podcast’, whilst his prominent Garuda label goes from strength to strength. See you at the front.

Hailing from Hamburg and raised on a diet of 80‘s boogie and disco, Marco Niemerski, widely celebrated as Tensnake, is a name that has been permanently etched on our minds after the gargantuan success of ‘Coma Cat’. The infectious melody and honey-like loveliness of this joyful single helped shape our summer of 2010. Never one to bask in the glory of a single triumph, Tensnake went on to release the equally catchy ‘Something About You’ and more recently ‘Mainline’, which managed to bring light to the darkest of dance floors. With an album finished and scheduled for release later this year, we welcome Tensnake’s special live show to the terrain of Clapham Common for the first time, as he brings the sunshine to South West Four.

Lauded as the Dutch version of Swedish House Mafia, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano have an insatiable appetite for success. They join an already prolific clique of DJs and producers to come through the ranks of their homeland and their blend of house always cuts the mustard. Their remake of Tiesto’s ‘Lethal Industry’ has been played endlessly played by Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn and David Guetta alike, whilst Pete Tong made it his ‘Essential Selection’… twice. The balanced chemistry between the two is positively obvious and the way that they embrace the crowd, lifting them up and crashing them down like an orchestral conductor, is contagious. Their performance in the Subliminal arena at SW4 2012 proved one of the highlights of the weekend, with an equally lethal set expected at our 10th Anniversary.

Sander Van Doorn, Boyz Noize & more added to SW4 lineup

ADDED TO SW4 DAY ONE: SAT 24TH AUGUST

MARCO CAROLA · SOLOMUN · SANDER VAN DOORN

Having been on our hit list for many years, South West Four is delighted to welcome one of planet Earth’s greatest DJs, the magnificent Marco Carola, for our colossal 10th Anniversary festivities. The much loved Italian’s epic journeys through deep techno have caused widespread mayhem over the years, particularly his lengthy sets on the Amnesia Ibiza terrace as part for his Cocoon and Music On residencies. The latter proved to be the talk of the White Isle last summer, with Italy’s finest export since going onto headline festivals across the world such as Timewarp and Awakenings. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him to London… SW4 style!

Always ranking high on any DJ list that matters, Solomun is one of the most in-demand DJs of recent times. Named 2012 ‘DJ of the year’ by Mixmag, the Hamburg based producer has been making huge waves with his unique and modern blend of techno and house. The Diynamic imprint which he founded has allowed Solomun to spread his name yet further, which is set to be elevated to a whole new level this summer via amajor Ibizan residency soon to be announced. Making his SW4 debut this year, Solomun is simply a must see.

Sander Van Doorn is a force to be reckoned with. Synonymous with trance, electro and techno, Sander’s rise to superstardom over the past ten years is testament to his raw talent and dedication. Through classics such as ‘Grasshopper’, ‘Punk’d’ and ‘Riff’, recent hits like ‘Nothing Inside’ and massive collaborations and remixes of The Killers, Lady Gaga, Artic Monkeys, Robbie Williams and Depeche Mode, Sander has developed his own sound which shrugs off the confines of genre typecasting. With a tour schedule that sees him play to more than a million fans each year, we look forward to welcoming Sander to ourhallowed turf, as he leaves his mark on our 10th Anniversary.

ADDED TO SW4 DAY TWO: SAT 25TH AUGUST

BOYS NOIZE [LIVE] · NICKY ROMERO · BAAUER

Returning for the first time since hosting a Boys Noize Records Arena in 2010, SW4 is extremely excited to welcome back the inimitable Boys Noize for our 10th Anniversary. Bringing to Clapham Common his hotly anticipated ‘Skull’ live show in a full UK festival exclusiveBoys Noize will display the kind of talents that resulted in Rolling Stone Magazine voting him amongst the top 10 ‘DJs who rule the Earth’ in 2012. Famed for pushing electronic music to the very limit, his latest album ‘Out of the Black’ has gained acclaim from critics and peers alike, whilst his new project alongside Skrillex called ‘Dog Blood’ has been setting the world on fire. His live show is going to be an unforgettable experience… you have been warned!

Another artist making his SW4 debut this year is Nicky Romero, who entered the 2012 DJ Magazine Top 100 Poll at number 17 – the highest new entry. Recently, he launched his own ‘Protocol’ brand – involving arecord label, club night and radio show which has gathered huge momentum in a short space of time, reaching over twenty million listeners worldwide each week. Not bad for a 23 year old. Last year Nicky worked with Calvin Harris, Rihanna and Avicii; it’s worrying to think what 2013 will hold. One thing is for sure; Nicky Romero is set to conquer the planet. His next stop? SW4!

Brooklyn’s prodigal son Baauer has been causing quite a stir of late. You would be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t heard Harlem Shake or been caught up in the madness that ensues in each video. The man behind the Shake certainly has more feathers to his bow, having remixed the likes of Nero, The Prodigy and fellow trap-heads Flosstradamus, as well as claiming the #1 spot in the iTunes America Chart. In 2012 he signed with the LuckyMe family, whilst his latest offering ‘Higher’ with famed hip-hop producer Just Blaze, looks set to repeat the success of ‘Harlem Shake’. Watch out world; Baauer has landed.

Baauer

Carl Cox joins South West Four lineup

The next name to be added to our Saturday lineup is a DJ who has formed an unbreakable bond with South West Four over the past decade; Carl Cox. An irrepressible force who continues to push the boundaries, Carl has performed at every club and festival imaginable over the past 25 years. A veteran of acid house and a true champion of techno, Carl has continued to exercise his ability of entertaining the ever evolving electronic music scene. Boasting one of the largest fan bases in dance music, Carl has visited each and every continent during the past twelve months, delivering deep, driving yet uplifting grooves every time. This includes Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival and Stereosonic, whilst his Space Ibiza residency aided Carl in being crowned ‘Best Techno DJ’ in 2012’s Ibiza DJ Awards. Thepioneer will return to the White Isle in 2013 where his night will reclaim its position as one of the most popular weekly nights on the planet.

Carl cox

Carl’s return to South West Four for the 10th Anniversary will no doubt orchestrate a frenzied atmosphere rarely witnessed. From headline performances in 2006 and 2008 to hosting his own stage in 2010 and an unforgettable main stage set in 2012, Carl’s unrivalled crossover formula has resulted in some of the best performances ever seen at SW4. Be prepared to have your senses pulverised. Carl Cox is coming…

Armin Van Buuren to headline South West Four’s 10th anniversary

Ten years of South West Four. Ten years as the UK’s premiere inner city dance festival. Ten years of unforgettable memories, spectacular performances and the world’s greatest electronic artists descending on South West London. This August Bank Holiday Weekend all roads will again lead to Clapham Common, for what Carl Cox has called the “crowning glory” of London’s clubbing calendar.

Carrying forward the culminated hysteria that nine previous years of South West Four has created, the 2013 instalment is guaranteed to be an extraordinary festival experience for all in attendance. This landmark occasion will be celebrated with the biggest lineup SW4 has ever showcased, crammed full of exclusive sets and one-off performances. Incredible, world class talent will be supported by even greater production as South West Four raises the bar yet again.

Coming off the back of last summer’s hugely successful and completely sold out South West Four, our tenth anniversary will prove to be another memorable weekend for everyone involved. 2012 featured an array of exceptional talent such as Chase & Status, Skrillex, Carl Cox, Public Enemy, Knife Party, Erick Morillo, Paul van Dyk, Eric Prydz and 2 Many DJs, with clubbers from across the UK and beyond making the pilgrimage to Clapham Common.

2013 will witness the return of many SW4 favourites, as well as numerous new faces who take to the Clapham stage for the very first time. Put simply, there is simply no better way to end the summer…

Armin Van Buuren

On Saturday 24th August, the world’s no.1 DJ Armin van Buuren makes his hugely anticipated return to South West Four for his only UK festival appearance this year. Driven by an unbridled and relentless passion for music, Armin’s London performances are always an unforgettable affair. With an ability to connect with huge crowds like no other, to witness a set of van Buuren’s is to be completely blown away. Soaked in lasers and embedded in an unforgiving sound system, expect a seamless mixing performance full of the melodic and uplifting sounds that he has come immortalised for.

Having just completed another award-winning twelve months, Armin will return to the British metropolis at the height of the summer and the peak of his success. 2012 witnessed the Dutch powerhouse pick up the #1 spot in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 poll for the fifth time, more than any other DJ. Furthermore he cleaned up the honours at the International Dance Music Awards winning ‘Best Global DJ’, ‘Best Trance Track’, ‘Best Radio Mix Show DJ’, ‘Best Podcast’ and ‘Best Global Record Label’. Add to this a hugely successful radio show that unites over thirty million listeners across the globe every week and an intense touring schedule and it’s clear that Armin is in huge demand wherever he can be heard.

Armin’s return to South West Four represents his biggest ever London performance. One of the largest and most loyal fan bases in electronic music will descend on the city from far and wide, as a sea of arms unite for what promises to be one of the most illustrious DJ sets London has ever seen.

Steve Angello added to SW4 2012 lineup

Completing the most diverse main stage lineup in SW4 history, Steve joins the likes of Skrillex, Public Enemy, Diplo and Crookers on Sunday 26th August for his final UK festival performance of 2012. This summer has unquestionably been the greatest of his career with headline performances at Tomorrowland, Hackney Weekend, T in the Park and Rock in Rio, plus an all conquering residency at Ushuaia in Ibiza. The huge success of his Milton Keynes Bowl show this past weekend witnessed 60,000 clubbers turn a venue traditionally reserved for the world’s greatest rock bands into the UK’s biggest dancefloor.

Steve Angello

In addition to his DJ exploits alongside Axwell and Ingrosso, Steve has been trailblazing a hugely successful solo career as both producer and record boss. From the charts to the club floor, somewhere along the lines you have heard Steve’s sounds. His heartfelt diligence and workhorse studio ethics have firmly placed him at the top of the game, with tracks like ‘One’, ‘Antidote’, ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ and ‘Save The World’ all storming into the UK Top 10 charts. Further to the game changing chapters of his musical legacy, Steve’s ambitions with Size Records has seen him invest in artists such as An21, Max Vangeli and Tim Mason, whilst championing the digital market with wave-upon-wave of enigmatic global talent. His performance at South West Four is years in the making and set to induce goose bumps on all present. Get ready for this larger than life outing…

Joining Steve is one of the breakthrough artists of the past twelve months. Taking to the Subliminal arena on Saturday 25th August, Dutch electro singer-songwriter Eva Simons recently found herself at the top of the UK singles charts, having provided the lyrics for the Will.i.am / Steve Angello produced hit ‘This Is Love.’ Eva’s powerful vocals will feature on more tracks from Will.i.am’s upcoming ‘#willpower’ album and have also been heard on LMFAO's single ‘Best Night.’ Her own productions have also gained huge worldwide recognition including ‘Take Over Control’ (produced with Afrojack), ‘I Don’t Like You’, ‘Silly Boy’ and her new dub-inspired banger ‘Renegade.’ Having welcomed the likes of Katy B, Yasmin and Ms Dynamite in recent years, Eva represents the next female superstar in the making to be showcased at South West Four.

Completing our trio of lineup additions is Fehrplay. Recently signed by Eric Prydz to the Pryda family, 2012 looks set to be a great year for this exciting new talent. His debut single ‘Incognito’ was recently released on Pryda Friends, having featured on Eric Prydz’s first podcast and Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show. With Ibiza performances coming before his set in the Together arena at SW4, Fehrplay is set to make a big impact this summer. With his huge sound and impeccable DJ skills he is definitely one to watch.

Public Enemy and more added to SW4 2012 lineup

Reviewing their list of accolades, it’s easy to see why they are such an inspired choice. Selling millions of records worldwide, plus a penchant for causing controversy, means their seminal anthems strike a chord with fans and critics alike. The influential ‘Rolling Stones’ magazine, ranked Public Enemy #44 in their ‘100 greatest artists of all time’, whilst their rampant tracks have influenced and inspired generations. ‘Bring The Noise’ is just one example, whilst ‘Fight The Power’ took the #1 spot in VH1’s ‘100 greatest hip hop songs.’ It’s these thought provoking titles which deem Public Enemy kings amongst men. To make this SW4 exclusive even more mouth watering, 2012 represents the 25th Anniversary since Public Enemy’s debut album ‘Yo! Bum Rush the Show’ shocked the world and provided the first step on their road to superstardom. As the self proclaimed prophets of rage, notorious for upsetting middle America, their media and government, it’s time to BRING THE NOISE to SW4.

Public Enemy

In addition to the announcement of Public Enemy as our Sunday live headliner, we can also reveal some very special guests playing across the weekend…

On the Saturday the sunshine sounds of Erick Morillo will light up his Subliminal arena. Having already announced that Erick will headline the stage in his only UK festival performance of 2012 and first London show in seventeen months, we can now reveal he will be bringing something extra special to SW4. In its UK debut, Erick returns for a second stint – along with cohorts Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero and Jose Nunez. The talented trio have named themselves ‘Sympho Nympho’, a project that has got everyone talking. With all three having previously worked together under the ‘Ministers De La Funk’ pseudonym, an affinity within the DJ booth equates to one hell of a show. Guaranteed to have maximum impact, Erick, Harry and Jose will play off against each other with dramatic delays and rocking reverbs. A sure fire hit at Subliminal in Ibiza this summer, three is definitely the magic number. Each having crafted their own legacy within the scene, together they look set to be a dominant force. A privilege to host their UK debut in another UK festival exclusive, SW4 is delighted to welcome Sympho Nympho.

A-Trak is another Saturday addition, his wizardry unmatched by any other. Proved by a technical trophy cabinet, boasting the DMC, ITF and Vestax crowns, A-Trak is the only artist to hold all three of these ‘majors’. Add to this five DMC world championships, the first triumph whilst only fifteen years young, a record perhaps never to be broken, A-Trak’s perplexing performances is underpinned by these award winning repertoires. Hence the Subliminal arena will be perfect for his sublime skills, the foundation for fusing an array of electronic genres. Wowing not just within the live domain, a production prowess earmarks A-Trak as the top dog. For example remixing Martin Solveig’s ‘The Night Out’, adding a gurgling bass line and rasping synth – peak time personified! Not forgetting some sweet ‘Duck Sauce’, the brilliant collaboration with Armand van Helden. ‘Barbra Streisand’ stormed the charts, whilst ‘Big Bad Wolf’ was awarded ‘Best Underground Track’ at this year’s IDMA awards. Don’t miss one of dance music’s most talented purveyors.

In West Philadelphia born and raised, on the playground is where he spent most of his days! Still residing in Philly, Diplo bears some resemblance to the Fresh Prince. A charismatic and open minded ethos has helped him develop an eclectic and loyal fan base, as has his ability to fuse genres. His seminal ‘Mad Decent’ label, Major Lazer project with Switch and collaborations with Beyonce, M.I.A., No Doubt, Busta Rhymes, Tiesto and Usher are evidence of this and has acted as the perfect platform to gain worldwide exposure. Expect a SW4 Sunday display of electronic madness, flirting with urban, dub, D&B and dancehall, in that trademark Diplo style.

Finally on the Sunday dynamic Italian duo Crookers. To serve up Mama’s groundbreaking recipe for mayhem, incorporating all styles into one chunky package. A sought after sound, Crookers have produced acclaimed remixes for Timbaland, Chromeo, Moby, Robbie Williams and The Chemical Brothers amongst others. Not forgetting the unashamedly catchy remix of Kid Kudi’s ‘Day ‘N’ Nite’, which stormed to No.2 in the UK charts. A warping bass line and soulful under current, ensure this is a track to grace any festival setting. Crookers’ fractious blend of street, rap, house and fidget is one of the great wonders of DJ land. A skill not taught at any academy, it is eminent in their pulsating studio work. Latest offering ‘That Laughing Track’ is custom made for SW4’s lasers and lights. Haunting vocals give it an unconventional sound, but one which will blow the roof off SW4 such are its genre defying properties. Crookers; here to steal the SW4 show.

As indicated by the oversized clock which always adorns Flavor Flav, it’s time for South West Four 2012. The road to Clapham is well and truly mapped out, with these line-up additions. The most diverse and delectable line-up this summer, SW4 is here to stake its claim for another year. Get ready…

Subliminal, Bedrock, AN21 & Max Vangelli and more for SW4 2012

SW4 2012 ARENA HOSTS…
SATURDAY:

SUNDAY:

Erick MorilloOn the Saturday house legend Erick Morillo returns to SW4 this summer for his first London appearance in over seventeen months and his ONLY UK Festival performance this year. With his set one of the ‘must see’ performances in London this summer, it makes perfect sense for ‘Subliminal’, his Pacha Ibiza night and trend setting label to take full control of its own tent. On parade will be the same beautiful people and extravagant clubbing experience one has come to expect from Subliminal, with Erick starring alongside An21 & Max Vangelli, Funkagenda, Sneaky Soundsystem, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, Tim Mason and very special guest Roger Sanchez.

Paul van Dyk and London institution ‘The Gallery’ join forces at SW4 2012 to present the biggest trance lineup in London this year.  Featuring an array of talent who PvD personally feels has an affiliation with his new ‘Evolution’ album concept, Paul will be joined by Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Aly & Fila, John O’ Callaghan, Richard Durand, Claudia Cazacu and Gary Proud. Combined with an extraordinary live show, which merges the soundtrack, imposing stage and hypnotic visuals, expect excellence in the art of sound!

John Digweed’s Bedrock returns to SW4 this summer to host an arena bursting at the seams with the best in underground house and techno DJs. In honour of the namesake label, John has been an irrepressible force in London this year. Setting things up perfectly for SW4, his monthly XOYO residency has rekindled that classic Thursday night slot, with capacity crowds filling one of London’s most forward thinking venues. Bedrock has always translated well to the great outdoors and this summer will be no different with John featuring beside Joris Voorn, Âme, Guy Gerber, Robert Babicz, Laura Jones, jozif and the Mixcloud DJ competition winner.

Lethargic after Saturday’s excursion? The booming DJ Magazine arena hosted by Together is bound to revitalise the senses. The Together tent at SW4 2011 was arguably the most energetic, whilst last November’s Together Winter Music Festival at Alexandra Palace confirmed the night as a dominant force. This summer Together packs its bags to host a sixteen date Tuesday night summer residency at the legendary Amnesia Ibiza but returns to Blighty for SW4. This time round Together brings with them the inimitable flair of 2 Many DJs (DJ set), Eric Prydz, Simian Mobile Disco (DJ set), Erol Alkan, Green Velvet, Brodinski & Gesaffelstein and Jeremy Olander.

Pete TongThis summer the world’s undisputed ambassador for electronic dance music returns to South West Four, this time hosting his very own arena. That’s right, SW4 goes ‘All Gone Pete Tong’! The clubbing credentials of All Gone have already been well proven, with a blowout season at Pacha Ibiza last summer, followed by a Bestival showcase and sell-out London warehouse party. In 2012 another Pacha residency has been confirmed, whilst the SW4 arena represents the biggest All Gone party to date. Pete hosts proceedings and is joined by Sasha, Seth Troxler, Maya Jane Coles, Dyed Soundorom, Eats Everything, Jaymo & Andy George and Connected’s Jesse James & Johnny Bloomfield.

Last but not least the biting sounds of Andy C and ‘RAM Records’, revered amongst drum and bass connoisseurs. This year is the seminal label’s 20th Anniversary with the celebrations launching on Clapham Common. Through its association with London nightspots The End, Fabric and Matter, RAM is responsible for some of the greatest clubbing moments the capital has ever experienced. Andy C headlines, bringing with him his audio / visual ‘Alive’ arc, with further drum and bass coming courtesy of Friction, Delta Heavy and Loadstar. Flux Pavilion, Jack Beats, Borgore and Doctor P also bring the bass, making this arena a real SW4 treat.

That’s the arena hosts done and dusted, sure to be gleaming in the sparking South London sun. But these tense tarpaulins are nothing without artists, so let’s take this opportunity to tease out some more. Sit comfortably and enjoy…

ADDED TO SW4 DAY ONE: SAT 25TH AUGUST
AN21 & MAX VANGELLI

SUNNERY JAMES AND RYAN MARCIANO · TIM MASON
VERY SPECIAL GUESTS: LET THE MUSIC PLAY [EXCLUSIVE]

An21 & Max Vangelli begin the latest Saturday additions, after their Ministry of Sound outings have become some of the most talked about on the superclub’s roster. Theatrical breakdowns and jacking grooves have built a reputation that sold out their MOS gig on New Years Eve several weeks in advance. This should come as no surprise, what with the duo being protégés of none other than Swedish House Mafia. Signed to Steve Angello’s trailblazing ‘Size’ label, twelve months of world domination culminated in November’s sensational Essential Mix. Touted as one of the best of 2011, it was crowned by the An21 & Max Vangelli remix of ‘Save The World.’ Previously named in DJ Mag’s ‘Top 5 To Watch,’ it’s peak time house all the way.

AN21 Max Vangelli

“Let The Music Play”; the motto of SW4 over its illustrious nine year history. But for this summer, it bears even more significance! On the Saturday we welcome the top secret project for their world exclusive performance. Encompassing red hot energy and euphoria, their tracks ‘Stars’ and ‘Waves’ have received major radio support in recent weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for more info.

Dynamic duo Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, blur the boundaries of house music in accomplished fashion. Perhaps best known for their rousing re-work of Tiesto’s immortal ‘Lethal Industry,’ only the most skilled could enhance a true classic – re-building it into a deep, funky stormer. As Axwell so eloquently puts it, “if there were a Dutch version of Swedish House Mafia, it would be Sunnery and Ryan.” As if any more endorsement was needed, Morillo has snapped up S&R for an exclusive Subliminal residency at Pacha Ibiza this summer. Demonstrated by the groundbreaking ‘Amazone Project Vol. 3,’ it’s dirty Dutch house at its best.

Tim Mason is a self professed purveyor of pure house music. ‘The Moment’ is one of the anthems of 2012 thus far, having been adopted by Tiesto and Steve Angello. A climatic build that explodes into a devastating hook, this debut track has the accolade of being signed to Angello’s ‘Size.’ With such a global platform to shine, this is most definitely Mason’s moment. New track ‘Amina OMG’ is of the same quality, summing up perfectly his big room house. Both these are sure to send SW4 wild, so check them out and envisage as the sun sets. Just beautiful…

ADDED TO SW4 DAY TWO: SAT 26TH AUGUST
BRODINSKI & GESAFFELSTEIN · DELTA HEAVY · LOADSTAR
JAYMO & ANDY GEORGE · JEREMY OLANDER

JESSE JAMES & JOHNNY BLOOMFIELD

Brodinski & Gesaffelstein, a French pairing that stands apart from their conventional countrymen associates. Brodinski is whirring techno, bass heavy house through to melodic minimal, whilst Gesaffelstein utilises wide ranging excerpts from broody techno and engaging electro. The result is an atmospheric musical soundscape that has to be witnessed live, their contrasting sounds playing off one another in mesmeric fashion. The joint ‘Bromance EP’ and tour has been captivating dance floors with the inimitable underground sound, unique to SW4 this summer. Brodinski and Gesaffelstein back-to-back, a bromance made in heaven!

Delta Heavy are the standard bearers for RAM Records’ new roster of talent. Flying high and proud, with rocking remixes for those at the top of their game; Example, Avicii and Chase & Status amongst their pulsating production portfolio. Their endeavours paid off with ‘Best Producer’ and ‘Best Newcomer DJ’ at the prominent Drum & Bass Arena awards. New EP ‘Down The Rabbit Hole’ will definitely take you down a deep and dark D&B tunnel. Aggressive waves of churning bass and blistering beats, exactly the kind of heavy stuff we can expect from the guys at SW4.

Another of the RAM recruits, Loadstar have an inextricable ‘Link To The Past.’ This track described by DJ Magazine as “a huge alien mammoth”, it scooped ‘Best Single’ at the 2010 D&B Arena awards. With such production nous, it’s no wonder acts of such calibre are queuing up to work the Loadstar boys.  For example SW4’s headliners Chase & Status and the chart topping Example! Their production efforts on the latter, earning a sought after gold record for ‘Changed The Way You Kissed Me.’ Guaranteed stars of SW4 2012.

Since starting their fledgling night ‘Moda’ back in 2008, Jaymo & Andy George have always championed the party. Now they hold shindigs all around the world, showcasing their policy of having no music policy whatsoever! A daring strategy, which paid dividends when the Radio 1 Essential Mix rolled into their home town of Lincoln. A riveting Moda musical montage, which included mainly of their own vibrant productions and cheeky remixes, resulted in mass hysteria. This led to a current Radio 1 ‘In New DJs We Trust’ show, plus residencies at We Love Space and Fabric. Plus the recent launch of ‘Moda Black’, an outlet for their darker output.

Up next, another protégé nurtured from the Swedish stable.  Under the wing of Eric Prydz, Jeremy Olander was the guest of honour at his recent Ministry of Sound album launch. Such was the success of his main room outing, Olander’s outlandish approach threatened to overshadow even Prydz himself! An upbeat progressive and heavy melodic sound, which has graced the prestigious Warehouse Project, Gatecrasher and Cocoon clubs in recent months. We can’t wait for ‘Animal Garden’ to be dropped, a rhythmic bassline that blossoms into a cacophony of twilight synth splashes. Irresistible bait, for Clapham’s dancefloor animals.

Completing the hat trick of pairings for this final day, London’s newest kids on the block. Jesse James and Johnny Bloomfield are residents at Connected, one of London’s most esteemed underground house nights. These guys aren’t here just to make up the numbers, but mean serious business with their new track just released. Entitled ‘Chucks Groove’ and sampling Public Enemy, Jesse and Johnny’s deep tribal taster will ensure they make many good friends on the Common.

There you have it. Eight infatuating arenas and a host of smoking line-up additions – that can’t have failed to enhance that undying SW4 hunger. Still to come the final pieces of the South West Four jigsaw. More meaty line-up announcements including our Sunday live headliner, which at the moment is G14 classified. Well not really, but you get the idea…
