Bonobo hits Soundwave Festival Croatia

Heading for a fifth anniversary celebration, over five days and three stages, Soundwave Festival Croatia has curated a formidable lineup that will combine with the always-electric Soundwave atmosphere and the glorious holiday surroundings to make this a trip to remember for a lifetime.  

Bonobo hits Soundwave in the midst of his awesome tour supporting universally acclaimed album 'The North Borders', while sellout successes for UK promoter Soundcrash Quantic and Alice Russell make an appearance at Soundwave, and anticipation is high for DJ Shadow's debut performance in Croatia. Robert Glasper Experiment recently wowed audiences with a live collaboration with Kanye West, and DOOM's hip hop credentials are unrivalled, making his billing at Soundwave extra special. Plus, DJ Yoda, Lapalux, Hiatus Kaiyote, Homeboy Sandman, Andrew Ashong,  Illum Sphere, Kelpe and many many more
 
 
The Argonaughty boat parties embark just seconds from the main stage, and this year there are 16 separate parties to enjoy, hosted by the likes of Ninja Tune, Soundcrash and Tru Thoughts, and featuring sets from artists of the calibre of Bonobo, Mr Thing, Quantic, Om Unit, Shigeto, Kutmah and Craig Charles to name but a few. There's even a boat party with a full-on brass band on board. The three-hour Funktion 1-powered tours of the Dalmatian coast are the ultimate highlight of the Soundwave experience and a chance to get up close to the artists.

The Garden Tisno has its very own dock so those embarking on the boat parties can walk from Main Stage to boat in just seconds. This year’s boat parties are hosted by some of the best music collectives, dj’s, clubnights and record labels around, they are:

Boat Party 1: Hoya Hoya & Eglo Records
 It’s a London vs Manchester ting as two of the UK’s heaviest future Hip Hop crews go head to head. There will be Bass.
 Line Up: Alexander Nut, Johnny Dub, Illum Sphere, Jon K, Fatima, Funkineven, Olivier Daysoul Date: Thursday 19th July, 1 PM – 5 PM
 
Boat Party 2: The Hyponik Bass Party
Bass bass bass is the password!
 Line Up: KUTMAH, Throwing Snow, Pedestrian & Hypnonik DJs  Date: Thursday 19th July, 6 PM – 10 PM
 
Boat Party 3: The Doctor’s Orders
A heavy dose of Soul, Funk & Hip Hop is just what the doctor ordered.
 Line Up: Mr Thing, Spin Doctor, Cris P Cuts, Kidkanevil, Yungun, MC Prankster  Date: Friday 20th July, 1 PM – 5 PM
 
Boat Party 4: First Word Records vs. Wah Wah 45s 
Two of the finest independent record labels around take command of the Argonaughty. Expect the heaviest funk and club jazz played loud as f**k on a sunset tip.

Boat Party 5: Soundcrash Boat Party
 The great London promoters and Festival co-founders lay on a weighty world class line-up with two of the greatest DJs in the world at the helm.

Boat Party 6: The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Boat Party

Boat Party 7: One Taste Collective Takeover

 A Brass Band on a boat. ‘Nuff said. (limited tickets available)

A beautiful private beach, an array of superbly curated boat parties and outside Amphitheatre performances roll into an endless offering of sonic bedazzlements.
 
Why Croatia?

Natural beauty, Island hopping, historical sites, stunning National parks, 25C guaranteed weather and amazing fresh Seafood are just a handful of the attractions on offer in Croatia. With highlights being a visit to Paklenica National Park- the most visited climbing site in Croatia, and the largest in Southeast Europe alongside a must do trip to Kornati archipelago an isolated group of 150 secluded islands. The beautiful village of Petrcane where Soundwave is situated is 12km northwest of Zadar with a population of 600 people engaged entirely with fishing and farming and surrounded by lively cafes and tavernas, a thick pine tree forest, old olive yards and beaches that make a beautiful landscape. Petrcane’s surrounding area offers up Croatia’s top beaches, with the historical town of Nin known as the cradle of Croatian culture just a short drive away.

Plenty of Cheap hotels and apartments recommended on the Soundwave website keep the festival nice and cheap and punters can also camp for super cheap in highly rated nearby campsites.
