THE GALLERY 20TH ANNIVERSARY STAGE WITH ALY & FILA, ANDREW RAYEL, MARLO

Two powerhouses go head to head at South West Four this summer as we bring you Solomun vs Âme. This world exclusive set from the label heads of two of dance music’s most loved imprints, Diynamic and Innervisions, represents a performance these shores has never seen before and may never see again. Both Solomun and Âme are no strangers to SW4 having both debuted in 2013 and 2012 respectively. Since then they have gone onto shine bright as two of the leading names in underground house music. 2014 witnessed Solomun continue his trailblazing ‘+1’ residency at Pacha Ibiza and mix the first Global Underground City series compilation in four years, which he devoted to his home city Hamburg. Âme has enjoyed similar success over the past twelve months, culminating in the house juggernaut hitting the #3 spot in the Resident Advisor Top 100 DJs poll of 2014. Collectively we can expect a sublime and emotionally rousing set that will bring together two great minds for a performance none of us will ever forget…

Over the years Sasha has contributed hugely to our history, from headlining the inaugural instalment of the festival in 2004 and then again in 2009, to debuting his own ‘Last Day on Earth’ stage last summer. In 2015 he returns to our main stage for the first time in five years, where he will play directly before Faithless’ huge homecoming live performance. So far this year Sasha has thrilled his fans with the release of his first solo single in four years titled ‘Vapourspace’, which follows in the path of his widely-played remix of London Grammar and collaborations with James Teej and Joel Mull. With the man on a purple patch at present, make sure you come witness the master control his playground as Sasha returns to South West Four.

Two Detroit legends go head to head this summer at South West Four on Saturday 29th August as we present Carl Craig featuring ‘Mad’ Mike Banks Live in a full UK festival exclusive. Having been responsible for one of the standout performances at ADE 2014, the coming together of these two musical innovators makes this one of the most anticipated sets of the entire weekend. Carl is of course no stranger to Clapham Common having brought his ‘Innerzone Orchestra’ to South West London in 2009, followed by a very special DJ set in 2013. With a discography which includes many of techno’s finest moments, Carl has spent the past three decades staying true to the sound he has helped define and his sets are a reflection of the rich musical heritage of the Motor City. He will be joined by Underground Resistance founder ‘Mad’ Mike Banks, who will invoke the jazz-infused techno spirit of his Detroit collective by playing live on keys. One for the heads.

As musicians go, there are few in the world as accomplished as our next act. A true pioneer, we are excited to announce that Berlin-based Henrik Schwarz will make his South West Four debut with an exclusive live performance. As a producer, his ability to bridge the gap between classical and modern-day electronic sounds is unrivalled, whilst as a composer his eclectic approach to composition and sound design is also in a league of its own. On top of a diary bursting with dates in every continent, 2015 also welcomes the release of his latest album ‘Instruments’, which will be showcased live on Clapham Common. Having fought off fierce competition for his brilliance, Henrik is another Innervisions favourite that we can’t wait to welcome this summer.

In just a few short years, the brilliant multi-dimensional duo Pan-Pot have created a dominating presence in the underground scene. As an act we’ve always had on our hit list, we are excited to welcome the Mobilee Records artists to Clapham Common for the first time this summer. 2014 witnessed the pair play the main room at Time Warp’s 20th Anniversary, command leading slots at Awakenings and Mysteryland and deliver stellar performances at Watergate, Elrow, Hyte and Music On. At SW4 Saturday the pair will remind us of their outstanding talents, making them one of the most exciting acts of the day.

Also making their maiden voyage on the good ship SW4 this year are underground giants Pleasurekraft. Originating from Stockholm and Washington respectively, Kalle and Kaveh are two of a kind. Founders of the outstanding Kraftek imprint, the techno-driven duo are regularly found leading the charge at many of the world’s greatest parties. Highlights of 2014 included summer dates at Space’s Elrow, ANTS at Ushuaia as well as at Defected’s and Suara’s Ibiza showcases. With production at the forefront of their agenda, this year has already seen them team up with Tiger Stripes to remix Cajmere’s ‘Satisfy’, whilst their edit of Green Velvet’s ‘Genedefekt’, alongside Carlo Lio, is also set for imminent release. On course to be one of the Saturday’s must-see SW4 debuts, it is one we strongly advise you do not miss.

After the recent sell out success of their Deeper Sessions event at Brixton’s superb auditorium Electric, we can announce that Tube & Berger’s next trip to the Capital will be at South West Four. Playing the festival on Saturday 29th August in their exclusive London summer play, the German-duo will be joined by Kittball label-mate Paji, who plays live. The past twelve months have seen the house and disco favourites continue to add to their arsenal of peak-time weapons with further releases on Defected, Get Physical and their own imprint, all receiving critical acclaim.

THE GALLERY 20TH ANNIVERSARY STAGE WITH

ALY & FILA, ANDREW RAYEL, MARLO + MORE TBA

Ever since its inception back in 1995, The Gallery has become nothing short of a Great British institution. Having started its journey at Farringdon’s infamous Turnmills, 2008 witnessed the UK’s longest running Friday night club event move south of the river to Elephant & Castle’s world famous Ministry of Sound. 2015 marks The Gallery’s twentieth birthday, a milestone seldom reached in clubland. A series of events have been curated to celebrate this achievement which will culminate in spectacular fashion at South West Four on Saturday 29th August, as The Gallery hosts its own arena. Having spearheaded the UK trance movement for two decades, this carefully programmed stage will feature ten of the very best and freshest names in the scene, three of which can be revealed now…

Hailed as The Kings of Egypt, Aly & Fila have become internationally recognised as leaders of the contemporary trance sound. Unrivalled at fusing vintage synths with poignant vocals and tough basslines, their commitment to the genre’s more traditional roots has garnered a dedicated army of global followers. That has been illustrated in the Capital, where they hold court at the Ministry as one of The Gallery’s all-time favourite guests. Last August Fadi delivered a spectacular set to a sun-kissed Clapham Common, whilst 2015 marks Aly & Fila’s return for an even bigger performance.

Tagged as a modern-day Mozart and a leading talent in today’s trance scene, South West Four is delighted to welcome back Armada’s Andrew Rayel. Since finding a solid home on the A State of Trance and Armind Recordings imprints, Rayel’s worldwide demand has grown ten-fold. His last UK performance was at a roadblocked Gallery in December, so we knew we had to get him back to SW4 for a summer display of his much-lauded sounds. With support flocking in from all his peers including Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond and W&W amongst others, Andrew is well on his way to adding himself to the trance hall of fame. SW4 please rise…

Signed to Armin van Buuren’s Armada Music, we are pleased to welcome one of trance’s hottest rising stars to SW4 for a rare UK performance. Having made an outstanding impression at The Gallery in early 2014, we can’t wait to welcome MaRLo back to London. Voted Australia’s #1 DJ thanks to a string of popular euphoric productions that have ridden high in the Beatport Top 10, Dutch-born, Australian-raised MaRLo joins the SW4 bill on the best form of his career. With standout deliveries at ASOT 700, EDC Mexico and Ultra already under his belt for 2015, we simply know he won’t disappoint.

Sunburn Goa announce 2014 lineup

Asia’s biggest dance music festival Sunburn Goa has announced the first phase of its 2014 line-up, showcasing a selection of the world’s best dance music acts. Returning to Vagator Goa on 27th, 28th and 29th of December the line-up will feature the likes of Knife PartyDimitri Vegas & Like MikeSashaSander Van DoornKrewellaMakjPaul Oakenfold, Baauer & many more in what is set to be another spectacular festival of music.

With an exotic climate, stunning shorelines and affordable prices, Goa has become one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations, not only boasting an incredibly vibrant culture, but also a deep-rooted heritage in electronic music that saw Goa Trance become a globally recognised movement in the late 80s. Continuing this long tradition and rising from the ashes of Goa Trance, Sunburn are pushing boundaries to write the next chapter in Goa’s illustrious history – as Swedish House Mafia member Axwell puts it: "When I play for money I play Vegas, when I play for holidays I play Miami, when I play for love I play India”.

Successfully attracting crowds of well over 160,000 from across the globe, Sunburn has also forged a reputation for its cutting edge music programming, with the likes of Hardwell, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia and Tiësto all participating in recent years and its 2014 edition will play host to over 150 artists across eight stages.

Kicking off this year’s line-up are Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, the Belgian brotherly duo that have taken the EDM world by storm by recently scooping the no. 2 spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2014 poll. After exploding on the scene two years ago, they have consistently commanded audiences of over 20,000 at recent gigs and are sure to deliver an earth shattering set at this year’s festival. Heralded Australian duo Knife Party are also sure to delight fans with new material from their forthcoming album ‘Abandon Ship’ when they grace the stage at Sunburn, especially having developed an exciting new audio-visual performance set up that has helped them remain one of the most sought after dance music acts in the world.

Electronic music pioneer and long-time dance icon Sasha is also in line to perform at Sunburn 2014 alongside Dutch trance legend Sander van Doorn – an artist who recently joined up with Martin Garrix and DVBBS on international chart hit ‘Gold Skies’. – whilst British club icon Paul Oakenfold is next to be unveiled, fresh off the back of releasing commemorative album ‘Trance Mission’ earlier this year.

Long-time house music favourite Michael Woods will return to Goa for 2014, after previously playing Sunburn Festival in 2011, as well as 2012’s massive ‘Hangover Tour’ that took in dates across India, whilst Berlin native Oliver Dollar is also set to bring his contemporary brand of deep house to the three-day festival, after recent single ‘Pushing On’ became one of the summer anthems of 2014. US singer-songwriter Matthew Koma is another to watch this year, after lending his dynamic vocals to a number of Top 40 dance records from the likes of Zedd, Nicky Romero, Fedde le Grande, Hardwell and Tiesto over the last two years.

Electro sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf of Krewella are to bring their epic live show to Goa too, blending electro-house, dubstep, drum & bass and progressive house, whilst rising star MAKJ, fresh off the back of holding down a lengthy Las Vegas residency, has announced he will make his Sunburn debut in 2014. Notable Dutch duo DubVision also promise to deliver a high-octane performance of their own, whilst Australian duo New World Sound, still riding high off the success of breakthrough anthem ‘Flutes’, are guaranteed to get the Sunburn party started.

Teen sensation Danny Avila is another hotly tipped star to join the line-up after first coming to the world’s attention following his Vicious Magazine ‘Best Newcomer DJ’ accolade in 2011 – an award he won aged just 16. Like Avila, LA native Paris Blohm has received massive support from the wider clubbing elite having caught the attention of the likes of Tiesto, Hardwell, and Sander Van Doorn, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, revered party starters Deniz Koyu, Far Too Loud and Baauer, producer of viral hit ‘Harlem Shake’, are both sure to bring their own signature brands of club energy to Goa.

Rounding off this blistering line up is a selection of India’s burgeoning young talent, with Anish Sood, Algorythm, Delhi Sultante X Begum x (Live), Dualist Inquiry Band (Live), Joshi, EZ Riser, Shaan, Reggae Rajahs and many more contributing. Sunburn revelers can also expect to find a dedicated ‘Sunburn Goa’ psy-trance stage at this year’s festival, with a whole host of activities at their disposal such as stunt biking, zorbing, volleyball and bungee jumping, with more adrenaline-fuelled surprises in store.

As plans gain momentum, Sunburn Goa 2014 is shaping up to be the festival’s biggest year to date. With the first two phases of early bird tickets selling out in a matter of hours and another phase of artists soon to be announced, this year’s Sunburn looks set to firmly establish India as a major player in global dance culture.

Jamie Jones, Sasha & Magda added to SW4 lineup

The legendary and SW4 regular Sasha joins the SW4 bill along with SW4 first time performers, Jamie Jones and Magda.

A man who needs absolutely no introduction joins the Clapham Common festivities for the very first time in 2014, as Jamie Jones finally makes his South West Four debut. Widely regarded as the leader of the new house sound that has dominated dancefloors worldwide over the past five yearsJamie’sslick and sexy adaptation of the 4×4 beat has resulted in his rapid catapault to global superstardom. Jamie’s pioneering sound has been instrumental in the success of his cross genre band Hot Natured and iconic label Hot Creations. This, along with his role as the face of Ibiza’s seminal nightclub DC10, has paved the way for a warmer and more melodic side of techno to emerge. Adding to this the recent launch of his second label HOTTRAX, plus his superb ‘Planets and Spaceships’ EP and its clear that Jamie joins us at SW4 at the very pinnacle of his career.

true SW4 legend makes his welcome return in 2014. That legend is Sasha. Having previously headlined South West Four three times (more than any other artist), Sasha’s exploits on Clapham Common are the stuff of folklore. His unrivalled ability to evolve and adapt to the ever changing world of electronic music has resulted in his international reputation as one of the greatest DJs to have ever walked the planet. The past twelve months have seen Sasha demonstrate his ground-breaking status further through the release of Involv3r, recently nominated for Beatport’s Album of the Year, a Mixmag front coverand a simply unforgettable headline appearance on New Years Eve at Brixton Academy as part of his Last Night Night On Earth label takeover. With recent standout performances serving to raise the benchmark of Sasha’s genius even further, we look forward to welcoming back one of SW4’s favourite sons with open arms.

Conistently cherished as the world’s finest and most infleuntial female DJ, Magda makes her SW4 debut in 2014. The Detroit-raised artist joined the M_Nus family back in 1998, soon establishing herself as one of the most revered DJs in the world today. Her performances alongside long standing friend Richie Hawtin have obliterated the world’s leading clubs and festivals for over a decade and we look forward to similar wild scenes at SW4. Now steering her own label Items & Things along with co-owners Troy Pierce & Marc Houle, the imprint has provided an ideal platform for many other world class producers toshowcase their sound. As an artist that prides herself on developing within such a fast-paced scene, her constand demand has led to one of the most impressive touring schedules aroundSouth West Four get ready to be blown away by Magda.

Eastern Electrics Founder Rob Star said:

We're really excited to be announcing another 30 quality electronic music acts today, and we're still keeping some of our biggest headliners under wraps! The full line-up pretty much consists of every artist I've ever wanted to book, my only worry now is how we're gonna top this next year! – roll on the summer!”

Gareth Emery, Mark Knight, 2 Many DJs, Eric Prydz, Sasha & More for SW4

Hence no surprise that ticket sales for both days have soared to record breaking levels. Further affirming the thrill enticed by these announcements so far, Saturday 'super saver' tickets have now completely sold out and increased in price, with Sunday not far behind.

With the next round of artist additions set to commence ‘Phase 2’ of the SW4 2012 lineup, tickets will soon be in even more demand. For if ‘Phase 1’ was the Clapham hors d’oeuvre, ‘Phase 2’ is the sumptuous SW4 main course. August Bank Holiday will never be the same again; Bon appétit!

ADDED TO SW4 DAY ONE: SAT 25TH AUGUST

BENNY BENASSI · GARETH EMERY · MARK KNIGHT
JORIS VOORN · FUNKAGENDA

Benny BenassiFirst up for the Saturday is the brilliant Benny Benassi. Since he gave the world ‘Satisfaction’ with his immortal anthem, the iconic Italian has added more strings to his musical bow –moving away from the misconceptions of many. Only the most creative could transform a hip hop rite of passage, into an electro house monster.  Exactly the case with Public Enemy’s ‘Bring The Noise,’ bagging a coveted Grammy award for ‘Best Dance Remix.’ A permanent fixture in the upper echelons of DJ Mag’s Top 100, Benassi’s cheeky re-work of Marshall Jefferson’s classic ‘Move Your Body’, is odds on to be the 2012 summer scorcher.

Expect a host of fresh new music from Gareth Emery, the Garuda God who needs no introduction amongst the SW4 fraternity. Charting at #13, Gareth is another of the leading artists in the Top 100 and returns this year for the first time since his storming debut in 2010. Poignant new track ‘Concrete Falls’ looks set to eclipse the landmark success of the sacred ‘Sanctuary’ and will no doubt entice all arms aloft on Clapham Common.  Ever since the lush chords of ‘Mistral’ announced him to the world, an unwavering, uplifting outlook earmarks this as a truly standout performance.

Mark Knight’s mercurial sound has not only propelled his revered imprint to world domination but represented a pioneering electronic sound. Blurring the boundaries between the mainstream and underground, it never fails to tantalise an ever increasing fan base.  It’s why the packed global itinerary of Toolroom’s top dog sells out each pulsating party weeks in advance. His headline slot at Toolroom Knight’s 5th Birthday at O₂ Academy Brixton proved one of the performances of last year, whilst Toolroom’s Miami showcase quickly became THE talk of WMC 2012. After a year’s SW4 hiatus, the Toolroom Knight is just what Clapham’s house heads have yearned for.

Also true of Funkagenda. A home grown vivacious talent, whose unchartered rise to fame has been no less impressive. That ‘Man With The Red Face’ collaboration with Knight scooped every award going, enhancing Laurent Garnier’s classic with a captivating production nous. Achieving the delicate balance between tough and melodic, this acquired skill led to specific remix requests from Basement Jaxx and Fatboy Slim amongst others. Harnessing the experience from being signed to Toolroom meant Funkagenda was able to fly the nest with supersonic speed! Culminating in his acclaimed ‘Funk Farm’ label, earning a sought after Ministry Of Sound residency. He is certainly at the front of our minds when it comes to quality house music at South West Four.

Finally for Saturday it’s Dutch trailblazer Joris Voorn. Commended for his ever evolving ethos, a host of radical releases have crafted a lasting legacy. A prolific producer who always strives to engulf the senses, look no further than his outstanding edit of Nalin and Kane’s summer smash ‘Beachball.’ Joris has prospered where others have failed, by enhancing the original into an underground spell of wizardry.  Also possessing magical properties, Voorn’s now legendary ‘Balance 014’ compilation eloquently combined 100 tracks into a double CD. This demonstrated a rare talent responsible for securing headline slots at We Love at Space Ibiza and Awakenings.

ADDED TO SW4 DAY TWO: SUN 26TH AUGUST

2 MANY DJS (DJ SET) · ERIC PRYDZ · SASHA
SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO (DJ SET) · EROL ALKAN

Deep breath, moving onto Sunday. You can never have too much of 2 Many DJs, the DJ manifestation of sensational production duo Soulwax.  With an inherent eclectic nature, it’s this ‘expect the unexpected’ prophecy that has wowed their devout fans.  Count Zane Lowe as one, after playing their Arcade Fire remix of ‘Sprawl II’ on his Radio 1 show. A brilliant realisation of the ‘2 Many’ concept, it re-vitalised this indie rock original with vintage disco and electro-glitch galore. It is by this ethos that the Belgian musicians headline the world’s leading festivals and club nights and with which we are delighted to present their SW4 debut this year.

Eric PrydzCrashing SW4 last year as the enigmatic Cirez D, Eric Prydz prides himself in all things house. His ground breaking ‘Mouseville’ imprint caters for those darker productions, such as the infectious hook from ‘On Off’, whereas the ‘Pryda’ label and namesake tracks encompass the more melodic side, but no less compelling. Hence with this wide ranging spectrum the Swede’s polished performances were always one of club land’s great wonders. Then ‘Eric Prydz In Concert’ came along, superseding all before in EPIC fashion. After selling out the mammoth Brixton Academy, Alexandra Palace and Amnesia Ibiza last year, it’s a privilege for SW4 to welcome Eric Prydz raw and in the flesh.

The mighty Sasha returns also, to sweep Sunday off its feet. The DJ powerhouse, whose illustrious twenty five year career incorporates some of the most memorable moments in SW4 history, is now fully entrenched into Clapham folklore. An undying thirst for innovation has meant that Sasha has always dictated the pace, since establishing himself with pioneering Renaissance and Global Underground associations. Utilising the latest technology enables Sasha to connect with the dancefloor like no other. His inimitable atmospheric sound captivated last summer’s ‘Never Say Never’ Ibiza parties, attracting four thousand connoisseurs each week!  Sasha’s transcendental synths are set to mesmerise SW4 once again.

Erol Alkan’s lasting impact on London’s club scene makes him a huge draw at SW4. As founder of trend setting night Trash at The End (RIP) and its anything goes policy, Erol has received worldwide adulation for his unique fusion of tech, electro, pop and rock. Anything that holds a beat is well within the Alkan domain, yielding classics which are sure to be SW4 favourites! Ask the loyal pilgrims who flock to Bugged Out! and Fabric on each momentous occasion.  As the immortal saying goes, Erol Alkan ‘keeps kids dancing.’

Having worked with Florence and the Machine and The Arctic Monkeys, Simian Mobile Disco are another devastating dance act joining us at SW4 2012. SMD’s spin on unconventional genres, equates to a defining festival experience. SW4 will be a perfect platform to tease exclusive material from their new ‘Delicacies’ label, best summed up by delicious new track ‘Seraphim.’ Simian Mobile Disco make their eagerly anticipated return to London, after last year’s breathtaking SW4 and Together Winter Music Festival appearances. With both occasions cultivating a riotous atmosphere, the duo are tailor made for Clapham debauchery.
