The phenomenal LCD Soundsystem will headline Uber One presents All Points East on Friday 23 August 2024. Supported by an exceptional line-up, with more names revealed today including Joy (Anonymous), The Kills, NewDad, Joe Goddard (Live), MS Paint, Monobloc, Dove Ellis and Nick Ward. They join previously announced special guests Jai Paul, Pixies, Floating Points, Jockstrap, Nation of Language, Sofia Kourtesis (Live), Eyedress and Vagabon. Tickets on sale here. Joy (Anonymous) aren’t just an electronic dance duo – they’re a sonic journey, inviting audiences to lose themselves in the music and find solace in the collective joy of the dance floor. Having established themselves during the Covid-19 era by playing impromptu meet-ups on London’s South Bank, they have graduated to bigger venues and, to further celebrate the community they’ve built together, they released their second album, Cult Classics, in 2023. Described by NME as “pure musical serotonin”, Joy (Anonymous), aka Henry Counsell and Louis Curran, have since been touring the world with the record, already hinting they are working on their “next chapter”. We can’t wait to welcome them back to All Point East this August. A minimalist duo with maximum impact, The Kills strip rock ‘n’ roll down to its rawest essence and reinvent it with each release. When they appeared during the early 2000s garage rock revival, Jamie Hince‘s eloquently jagged guitar playing and Alison Mosshart‘s ability to snarl and sigh with equal conviction created sparks. They’ve since tallied hundreds of millions of streams across albums such as Keep On Your Mean Side [2003], No Wow [2005], Midnight Boom [2008], and Blood Pressures [2011]. In 2023, they released God Games, further etching the marks they’ve made on bending genres and pushing musical boundaries. The Kills have emerged as international rock stars, setting the pace for the genre, shaping this era’s sound, and redefining what rock music can be in the 21st century. Plus NewDad, indie rock band from Galway – alternately fuzzy, shimmery, and rumbling, NewDad put a weary, intimate spin on 1980s and ’90s alt rock inspirations. Led by the airy, tepid vocals of Julie Dawson, the group released their debut EP, Waves, in 2021 to much acclaim in their native Ireland. As their popularity grew, they followed their second EP, 2022’s Banshee, with their full-length debut MADRA in 2024. Performing live will be Joe Goddard, best known as a member of the English synth-pop band Hot Chip. Hot off the heels of his third solo album Harmonics, due for release on 12 July, this will be one of the first opportunities to hear the new record – which features appearances from Hayden Thorpe, Alabaster DePlume, Tom McFarland of Jungle and his Hot Chip bandmates Alexis Taylor and Al Doyle. Also announced today are experimental American rock band MSPAINT, post-punk New Yorkers Monobloc, alternative R&B singer Dove Ellis, and bedroom-pop Australian breakthrough musician Nick Ward. LCD Soundsystem are one of the US’s most acclaimed and influential bands. Starting out in 2002 and driven by the vision of James Murphy, they released multiple singles in the lead up to their acclaimed self-titled debut – including the signature song ‘Losing My Edge’ and the timeless ‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House’. Their sophomore album, 2007’s Sound of Silver, garnered even more critical praise and topped multiple best-of-the-year lists, putting LCD Soundsystem firmly at the head of the neo-disco class. With tracks like ‘New York I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down’ showing their more poignant side, the record is also home to ‘All My Friends’, named by Pitchfork as the second-greatest song of the entire 2000s. The band became a huge live draw over the years and, after the release of their third studio album, This Is Happening, their first Top 10 album in the US, LCD Soundsystem sold out Madison Square Garden in 2011 for a farewell show. To fans’ delight, they re-formed, and returned with the vintage-sounding American Dream in 2017. In the years that followed, the band played multiple concert residencies, including a six-night stint at Brixton’s O2 Academy in 2022. That same year they cranked out ‘New Body Rhumba’, a dancefloor-filling single with their trademark sharp edge. Last year, James Murphy explained that the band were stepping out of the usual touring cycle and recently announced 12 dates around New York City, leaving them time to also work on new music, while promising, “Maybe we’ll just play other places next year, moving around to cities we like to play, where we’re wanted, etc.” Always in demand in London, having headlined at All Points East’s first year in 2018, LCD Soundsystem never disappoint, and we cannot wait to welcome them back to Victoria Park this summer. Each year, All Points East delivers an epic line up of world class headliners, exceptionally curated supporting line ups and big exclusives. 2024 will be no different – with headliners Kaytranada (Friday 16 August), Loyle Carner (Saturday 17 August), Mitski (Sunday 18 August), LCD Soundsystem (Friday 23 August), APE presents Field Day (Saturday 24 August) and The Postal Service / Death Cab For Cutie (Sunday 25 August). |
Pixies
Pixies, New Order and more added to Bilbao BBK 2016 lineup
Back for it’s 11th year, Bilbao BBK Live returns in 2016 to welcome 40,000 revellers to the picturesque Basque Country for a weekend of incredible music. Taking place from 7 – 9 July the festival places an amazing lineup in front of a stunning backdrop of green mountains and scenic views across the city. Today the festival proudly announces its first wave of artists for next year with Pixies, New Order, M83, Hot Chip, Jose Gonzalez, Father John Misty, Courtney Barnett and We Are Standard all set to take the stage.
With a legacy that speaks for itself, Pixies will be making a long and eagerly awaited return to the area for what promises to be one of the defining moments of the weekend. As undisputed legends of alternative American rock and with a canon of huge hits including ‘Debaser’, ‘Where Is My Mind’ and ‘Here Comes Your Man’ as well as last year’s widely acclaimed new material, the band remain one of the most enduring and influential groups on the planet.
Fresh from the release of their new album ‘Music Complete’ and with a revitalised lineup of both new and old faces New Order will be bringing their signature new wave to the festival. From classic cuts like ’Blue Monday’ to future classics like ‘Tutti Frutti’, Bernard Sumner and co are not to be missed.
Sure to soundtrack some of the dreamier moments of Bilbao BBK Live this summer are Grammy nominated synth pop band M83. As the brainchild of french electro hero Anthony Gonzalez, the group pair the huge anthemic sounds of hit single ‘Midnight City’ with the tender, heartbreak pop of ‘Wait’ to incredible effect. Making their debut at the festival, Hot Chip will be flying the flag for the UK’s incredible electronic music scene. Since returning this year with new album ‘Why Make Sense?’ the band have gone from strength to strength and with a live show surely unrivalled within their genre they make the perfect addition to the lineup.
Swedish singer-songwriter José González’ profile has never stopped rising since the release of his debut album ‘Veneer’. From his breakthrough cover of The Knife’s ‘Heartbeats’ through to this year’s self produced full length ‘Vestiges And Claws’ he has positioned himself as one of Europe’s finest talents. Former Fleet Foxes drummer Joshua Tillman’s critically acclaimed second album under his Father John Misty moniker, ‘I Love You Honeybear’ is one of 2015’s undisputed albums of the year. This summer the troubadour’s incredibly personal indie-folk will undoubtedly see the cult of FJM grow even further.
Also confirmed is witty Australian rocker Courtney Barnett who over the last couple of years has turned heads with her ramshackle, heartfelt and at times hilarious songs and energetic live show. Debut album ‘Sometimes I Sit And Think And Sometimes I Just Sit’ is one of the landmark releases of 2015, met with widespread critical acclaim the record has earned her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Closing the first wave of announcements for this year is Spanish four-piece We Are Standard who will be bringing their trademark fun indie vibes to their hometown.

The National, Mogwai, Kendrick Lamar plus more for Optimus Primavera Sound
We are pretty excited to let our Summer Festival Guide fans know that the Optimus Primavera Sound lineup is now complete with The National, Mogwai, Kendrick Lamar, Pixies and more announced today!
Among all the confirmed names, we reinforce the presence of American band The National, the Californian rapper Kendrick Lamar and the legendary and influential Brazilian singer Caetano Veloso.
The first festival shows for newly reformed British band Slowdive, New Yorkers Television with their master piece “Marquee Moon”, Spoon’s effervescent pop, who have a new record, the third reincarnation of Slint claiming their crucial role in the appearance of slowcore and the presentation of the new record by Scottish band Mogwai are also added to this edition’s line-up.
Current names arrive at Optimus Primavera Sound to showcase their more recent work: Nicolas Jaar’s new project, Darkside, Danish artist Trentemøller, with his melancholy fusion of indie and electronica, the Haim sisters with the recently acclaimed phenomenon “Days Are Gone”, and the fiery electronica of !!! (chk chk chk) and St. Vincent with a new self-titled album that proves, once again, that there is a great gap between conventional pop and the sonic fusion created and reinvented by the New Yorker.
A true heterogenic mix of musical styles is going to invade the city of Porto: the post-rock of the Canadian band Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Charles Bradley’s soul, the intimate sound of Rodrigo Amarante, or noisy British band Loop are some of the names that compose an eclectic and varied line-up.
Also, in the national landscape, we find bands with several musical references. Lisbon band You Can’t Win Charlie Brown will come to Optimus Primavera Sound with “Diffraction/Refraction”, a more challenging and sophisticated album than “Chromatics”, where vocal harmonies and the constant dialogue between folk and electronica are deepened. Also Os Da Cidade, a band that joins António Zambujo, Ricardo Cruz, João Salcedo and Miguel Araújo Jorge, promise to reinvent some of the traditional Portuguese sounds to cover them with a personal and delicate touch. HHY & The Macumbas, a project led by Jonathan Uliel Saldanha, will take their electrifying dub rhythms to the Parque da Cidade, for an extra sensorial experience, while Torto showcase, the hungry instrumental trio, in a fusion of guitar, bass and drums invites to a bold stroll outside each person’s “comfort bubble”.
Primavera Sound announce full lineup for 2014

The first festival shows for newly reformed British band Slowdive, house from the British band Disclosure, Television from New York playing their greatest album “Marquee Moon", math-pop from the powerful Foals, the presentation of the Scottish band Mogwai’s new album, electro pop from the highly successful Metronomy and Darkside, Nicolas Jaar’s new project, all join the line up of the Barcelona event.

Other cutting edge artists will come to Primavera Sound to present their most recent albums: From Australia Cut Copy and their dance pop, the funny and outrageous Black Lips, the British genius Blood Orange, regenerator of the most contemporary black music, the 90s rock veterans Superchunk, Drive-By Truckers and their classical rock and dance floor funk from the Duo Chromeo.
A multitude of musical styles will fill the stages of the Barcelona event: afrobeat by Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 and the New Yorkers Antibalas, cosmic jazz from Sun Ra Arkestra, post rock from The Canadians Godspeed You! As for the electronic music programme, it will be headed by the world famous French DJ Laurent Garnier, who will be followed by a long and varied list of artists: the Germans Moderat (the union of Modeselektor and Apparat), the deep rhythms of SBTRKT, the revelation of electronic dance music Daniel Avery, Jamie xx from the UK (member of The xx), from Madrid comes Pional, Lasers from Barcelona with their impeccable live show, house by Julio Bashmore and the experimental sound of Demdike Stare and The Haxan Cloak.
Primavera a la Ciutat will flood the whole city of Barcelona with a series of complementary proposals in parallel with the main event. Kings of Leon to headline Rock Werchter 2014
The Summer Festival Guide 2014 can now reveal that Kings of Leon will headline Sunday night at Belgium's Rock Werchter.
They join Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Jack Johnson, Major Lazer, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Pixies, Placebo, Skrillex, Stromae – who said himself on Facebook this week that he’d be there – The Black Keys and Triggerfinger, all already announced for Rock Werchter 2014. Festival tickets have been on sale since early December. Ticket sales for Rock Werchter 2014 are at 60,000 and still counting. The 18,000 day tickets for Saturday 5 July are already sold out. Still on sale: combi-tickets and day tickets for Thursday, Friday or Sunday. More festival news to come soon.
About Kings of Leon:
”There is no festival we’ve played more,” said singer Caleb Followill to the Werchter crowd last year. The pleasure is ours, Caleb. No name has graced the bill as often in such a short space of time: in 2014 it will be the sixth time in eight years. This mutual respect tells a Werchter fairytale: young band makes headliner status through repeat visits. The first time around, in 2007, Kings of Leon were honoured by a visit from Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam). Two years later they topped the bill. By then “Sex On Fire” and “Use Somebody” had brought them world fame and they were heaping up the gold records. The album “Come Around Sundown” (2010) was overshadowed by internal stresses, but that was only a glitch. “Mechanical Bull” (2013) sees them back in good form. More roots than arena rock. Good stuff.
Major Lazer, Skrillex and more added to Rock Werchter 2014
Today more names were added to the Rock Werchter 2014 bill. Five particularly resounding names: Franz Ferdinand, Major Lazer, Pixies, Skrillex and Triggerfinger. Nice. Tickets for Rock Werchter go on sale on this Saturday. More festival news is on its way!
Skrillex is coming to Werchter on Thursday 3 July. The prince of American dance created something of an earth tremor in 2012. This time too, he promises great beats across the fields. Get out the dancing shoes again on Friday 4 July, because that’s when the hottest party machine of them all, Major Lazer, is at the festival. Then, on Saturday 5 July, Werchter is all about guitars. Or so the initial confirmations say. Pixies will generate a wave of pleasant frenzy over Werchter. And Belgium’s finest, Triggerfinger will be there on Saturday as well. At present the band are recording the successor to their successful album “All This Dancin’ Around” (2010) in Los Angeles. Franz Ferdinand will play the festival on Sunday 6 July. These Scots get the guitars swinging, more so now than ever. It’s party time!
