Make Noise stage comes to OnBlackheath

A whole host of artists and DJs have been added to the bill for OnBlackheath 2015, in partnership with John Lewis, which will take place in South East London on Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 September. European Recycling Platform will be bringing the first ever stage for Make Noise (the UK's only electronic recycling club night) to the festival across the weekend with a special DJ set from Erol Alkan and Tom Findlay (Groove Armada). OnBlackheath are also very excited to announce the launch of the Meantime Sessions Stage which will feature the likes of Chris Holland All Stars ft. Roland Gift, The Rude Vandals plus PlayOnBlackheath 2014 competition winner Rhys Lewis.

South East London 9-piece band Chainska Brassika have also been announced to open the Main Stage on the Sunday of the festival with Tropical Dope DJ-ing in-between each artist on the day. Tickets on sale NOW and available from www.onblackheath.com.

Make Noise, the UK's only electronic recycling club night, are proud to announce their first ever-festival stage at this year’s OnBlackheath. The stage will feature their biggest ever line up with Tom Findlay(Groove Armada), Greg Wilson and Moxie who will be performing on the Saturday with Erol Alkan, Justin Robertson, Hannah Holland and DJ AntZ on the Sunday, with more acts still to be announced soon.

On Saturday, The Meantime Sessions will also feature artists including Summer Camp, RIVRS, CROWS, MOTH TRAP, The Pearl Hearts, Bad For Lazarus and DJ Boris McNab. Alongside Chris Holland All Stars ft. Roland GiftThe Rude VandalsHollie Cook, Brassroots and Rhys Lewis the Sunday will also feature The Mighty CosmicsBruise plus DJs Diaz Brothers.

These artists join already announced headliners Elbow (Saturday) and Madness (Sunday) plus Manic Street Preachers, Kelis, Laura Mvula, Anna Calvi, Jack Savoretti and the cast from ‘Sunny Afternoon: The Kinks Musical’. Heavenly & Friends Stage will feature Temples, 808 State and Stealing Sheep. The Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Stage will have the likes of Clap! Clap!, Seun Kuti, Eska and many more on the Sunday.

Elbow headline OnBlackheath 2015

Music complimented by food, OnBlackheath offers festivalgoers a memorable experience on the historic green space of London’s Blackheath Common SE3. OnBlackheath will also feature an array of exciting attractions including a Chef’s Club Immersive Dining Experience, Food Demonstration Stage, a whole host of entertainment dedicated to kids and the family, urban arts experience area, interactive sreet entertainment and much much more.

Saturday's headliner will be BRIT and Mercury winning Elbow, a band that, over six studio albums, have established themselves as one of the most important acts the UK has ever produced. With their current album 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything' entering the UK charts at Number One and a well deserved reputation for incredible live performances this headline set is sure to be unforgettable.

Madness will be hitting the main stage on Sunday for their only London date this year. In the last 5 years the band have released two of their most critically acclaimed albums ‘The Liberty of Norton Folgate’ and ‘Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da’. At the end of 2014 they embarked on a hugely successful arena tour, including a date at London’s O2 Arena.

Madness commented: “We thought we’d left no stone unturned in London: Palaces, parks, stadiums… and now the kind people of Blackheath are letting us play there. Lets hope we don’t cause an earthquake south of the river.”

Manic Street Preachers will arrive on Blackheath following the release of one of the most critically acclaimed albums of their career (Futurology) and the reissue of their 1994 masterpiece The Holy Bible which was also played in full at some of the most feverishly received gigs the band have ever played. They are unarguably one of the UK's most treasured rock & roll bands.

Also heading to the main stage on Saturday will critically acclaimed Anna Calvi with many more artists still to be announced. Whilst leading independent label Heavenly Recordings will be back to curate the second stage Heavenly & Friends.

Sunday will see the likes of American R&B star and food lover Kelis and British soul singer Laura Mvula take to the main stage. National radio DJ Gilles Peterson will be making a return and will be bringing an array of live music and DJ sets to hisWorldwide Stage.

The Meantime Sessions Stage has also been announced and makes a welcome addition to the bill with artists including The Rude Vandals plus Chris Holland All Stars.

Aloe Blacc, Imelda May and more join OnBlackheath lineup

This years newest festival OnBlackheath announces another batch of artists that will perform over the weekend of the 13th and 14th September which include chart topping 

soul sensation Aloe Blacc, hip-hop electro Young Fathers and Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard performing a DJ set. Plus a very special guest announcement will be 

coming soon. Irish rockabilly queen Imelda May, festival favourites Levellers, indie rockers Athlete and hotly tipped Brit folk rockers Slow Club have been added to the bill and joining Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls on the Sunday.

Introducing OnBlackheath featuring Massive Attack and Frank Turner

The Summer Festival Guide is excited to reveal yet another new festival to London's summer season.  OnBlackheath in partnership with John Lewis is a brand new festival with a difference.  

An eclectic music line-up, immersive food experience, farmers market and much more will be on offer. OnBlackheath will be taking place over the weekend of Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September 2014 on the historic green space of London’s Blackheath Common SE3. Headlining the event, and what will be both their ONLY London festival shows this year, iconic music pioneers Massive Attack (Saturday) and punk folk rocker Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls (Sunday). All other Main Stage artists are due to be announced shortly, with the second stage being curated by national radio DJ Gilles Peterson on the Saturday and independent label Heavenly Recordings on the Sunday.

If that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite OnBlackheath are delighted to announce the unique addition of our special food stage host, pop-up chef and The Sunday Times Cook, Gizzi Erskine. ‘Gizzi’s Chef’s Club’ which will offer festival visitors a chance to sample the dishes demonstrated on the main food stage. The stage will provide an interactive experience for festivalgoers where 8 chefs a day will showcase their latest cooking skills and trends with fresh, sustainable and local produce. The chef line up will include Michelin starred chefs Simon Hulstone (The Elephant) & Richard Bainbridge (Morston Hall) and top chef Neil Rankin (Smokehouse).

Throughout the weekend festivalgoers will get the chance to see more world-class artists perform, with the addition of the second stage. National radio DJ Gilles Peterson will be bringing an array of live music and DJ sets to his Worldwide Stage on Saturday 13 September with the likes of Hiatus KaiyoteBadBadNotGoodSwindle Live, Ibibio Sound Machine, Zara McFarlane, Anushka with DJ slots to be announced soon.

Leading independent label Heavenly Recordings will curate the second stage Heavenly & Friends on the Sunday with artists including Radiophonic Workshop, Stealing SheepCharlie Boyer and the Voyeurs, The Wytches, Kid Wave and a DJ set from Don Letts.
