Celebrated electronic event hosts MDLBEAST spokespeople for keynote in Ibiza
Positive impact of XP and SOUNDSTORM on the local and regional scene a major focus
Female leaders from MDLBEAST, the Saudi-based music entertainment company, have taken to the stage at the International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza to showcase the progress in the regional scene, and the positive impact that events are having in Saudi especially, but also the wider Middle East.
The IMS is one of the world’s biggest electronic music industry events and welcomes star talent of the global scene speaking alongside leaders in the field. MDLBEAST’s participation is a signal of the world’s recognition of the Middle East as a growing market for music generally and also an opportunity to showcase the work of MDLBEAST in providing a platform for faster, stronger growth in the region. This has been most prominently demonstrated over the last few years through MDLBEAST’s XP Music Conference and the major music festival, SOUNDSTORM, both expected for their respective second and third editions later in 2022.
Nada Alhelabi, Strategy Director at MDLBEAST, led the conversation which highlighted to the IMS delegates the growth taking place in Saudi especially in regards to increasing opportunities for women and the burgeoning cultural economy.
Speaking after the event, Nada Alhelabi said she was encouraged by the reception of the audience, “I was really pleased with the reaction from the crowd who are all deeply knowledgeable about the music industry. What we’re trying to get across is the positive impact that the industry can have on Saudi Arabia and in the wider Middle East. Sometimes the stories they hear focus on a past which no longer exists and we don’t recognize. We wanted to stand up in front of them as Saudi women in the music industry to highlight the opportunities and future outlook, finally to start bridging the gap and connecting communities together based on common grounds, which is the love for music.”
The MDLBEAST keynote at IMS comes ahead of anticipated news on the 2022 edition of the LOUDEST WEEK in Riyadh which embodies MDLBEAST’s commitment to growing talent, building the regional scene, and advancing the creative economy for Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East. The LOUDEST WEEK comprises the 3-day XP Music Conference and the music festival, SOUNDSTORM.
The most recent edition of SOUNDSTORM, held in December 2021, saw performances from international DJs and global stars including David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Jason Derulo, and Future. 730 thousand people attended the event enjoying music and entertainment from 184 different artists across 8 stages.
MDLBEAST’s XP Music Conference was held for the first time in 2021 with 150 local/regional/international industry experts discussing Talent, Scene, Policy, and Impact with regional audiences, supporting the growth of the music community. Global artists such as Afrojack and Steve Aoki led the discussion around the path to success, guiding principles for young talent, and what it means to support aspiring DJs, producers, and creators. XP welcomed almost five thousand attendees on three days and hosted up to 52 sessions in its inaugural year.
About MDLBEAST:
MDLBEAST LLC is a music entertainment company committed to growing talent, building the regional scene, and advancing the creative economy. MDLBEAST was established following the success of its flagship festival, SOUNDSTORM, in 2019.
Through its focus on artists and talent, MDLBEAST is building a talent infrastructure and providing them with opportunities which put them on global stages. Similarly, through owned events and experiences, content, conversation, fashion, and more, MDLBEAST is helping to build a thriving, and economically sustainable music community in and for the region. MDLBEAST operates under its three corporate arms: XP Music Conference, MDLBEAST PRESENTS and MDLBEAST Record Label.
Since its inception in 2014, Mason Collective has been drawing attention in the underground music scene for its explosive DJ sets and highly renowned events. The Manchester-based DJ and production trio developed their signature brand of high-energy grooves, showcasing them at several high-profile parties in some of the most respected venues on both the local and national scenes.
AJ Christou is no stranger to the tech music seen, having accomplished a lot during his time in Manchester and has reached new heights with his label, Celesta Sounds. Italy’s own Dimmish, brings his experience of sound engineering to create unique and innovative minimal and tech tracks. Fleur Shore is a queen of the edits and her latest Time and Time Again is a nostalgic blast to the 90s. Landing from Miami, Jesse Calosso digs deep to diversify his skillset and his tunes and has become a favourite in the tech house scene.
Manchester’s own, Joseph Edmund, is one to watch having cut his teeth in Sankeys and Gorilla and with plenty of releases on Solardo’s label, Sola. Amsterdam-based Luuk Van Dijk has put the graft in, resulting in his major success in Holland and has been making waves in the UK with his recent set of BBC Radio 1 Essentials.
Paige Tomlinson’s second language is underground. House, electro, breakbeat: she speaks it, and gives it truth on the dancefloor. Rising talent, REME cemented his place in the MVSON family and has recently explored solo production, creating heavy belters and extended mix’s not to be missed. Ripping up the London club scene, Rossi. brings his unique and fresh approach to minimal in every set and regularly headlines across the Europe.
Having forged a strong house and techno sound since his residency at Fuse, Seb Zito, has gone on to headline across the Europe, Canada, the US. Not one to miss. Will Greenhalgh has had immense success across the Manchester club scene and has supported some of the biggest names in the industry. He’s ambitious, tenacious and shows no sign of slowing down.
Immersion is Mason Collective’s territory, and the festival promises to bring more than just music, it is a complete experience. Expect to discover art installations and 3D visuals woven into the journey you will go on, along with expertly tailored music played by forward-thinking artists. We also have a food and drinks ‘village’ offering a variety of food, drinks, and activities to take part in.

We are supporting the music of the Fognini Brothers ever since they put themselves on the map of the international electronic music scene.
Similar as it is the case with us, Mind Against also select their output very carefully and this also reflects in their DJ sets that can be long and challenging at times. Like their sets also their discography speaks for itself; with a variety of originals, remixes and collaborations, that are not bound to one genre, Alex and Freddie already left a mark in the more melodic realm of techno and house and are continuing to do so in full force.
We are happy to have them on board and it is great to see that their interpretation of our ‘Home‘ is so well received.

Next is Family Week-end 02, on 13th and 14th of August. This time, the party will be located on the other side of Montpellier, going west in the direction of the famous city of Sète and its outstanding Etang de Thau. Once again, connection will be easy with all the big cities, thanks to train station located only 400 meters away : 10 minutes from Montpellier center, 5 minutes from Sète. Ideal to come and enjoy this party weekend safely ! Musically speaking, the saturday will be focus on House music, with a never-seen before transition between the American legend of House Danny Tenaglia, the DJ’s DJ, and the most acclaimed House artist since 4 years, FISHER. Next to them will be Dutch star Oliver Heldens, listed on the Top 100 DJs since 2013, who will perform under his dark techno moniker, HI-LO. The succession of these 3 sets promise to be something! The next day, Sunday 14th of August, will be a wonderful trip for all the fans of Deep and Melodic House & Techno: an exclusive back-to-back between the legendary Dixon and his new favourite Jimi Jules, Afterlife’s wonder. Family Piknik’s mastermind, Tom Pooks, is proud of this new partnership with Frontignan city hall: « They immediately have embraced our project. Thanks to them, we’ve managed to create a second Family Piknik weekend in a vegetal, green and tree-lined decor which sticks to our initial concept : family, kids, picnic, under the trees. Cherry on the cake, we have the proximity of the train station, the stunning Etang de Thau and some great beaches all around. All we need to enjoy a mesmerising party weekend.
After these hot summer events, it will be time for a breathtaking Closing event in Béziers Arenas on October 1st !
