Since previously announcing Ed Sheeran for the Mallorca Rocks and Ibiza Rocks opening parties, he’s won two BRITs (British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male) and his star keeps shining brighter as anticipation builds further for the moment he plays Mallorca Rocks and Ibiza Rocks opening parties in June (5th & 6th).
Next up is a stunning show, featuring two of the most exciting and critically acclaimed male solo stars to come out of the UK – singer songwriter Maverick Sabre and producer-turned-pop-star Labrinth. Since supporting Tinie Tempah at Rocks last year, MaverickSabre’s success has soared with debut album Lonely Are The Brave going gold and reaching No.2. It’s been an equally good year for Labrinth since supporting Chase & Status last year then smashing the singles chart with No.2 hit Earthquake. Ibiza Rocks has consistently nurtured new talent and provided a platform for breaking artists to play the biggest bill in the Balearics. In June, fans will see two of last year’s strongest support artists deservedly step up to headline slot status in June.
In 2005 Ibiza Rocks captured the Kaiser Chiefs for one of the first ever Ibiza Rocks gigs, just before their debut album Employment exploded. They returned for a phenomenal, intimate beachfront gig at Bar M in 2007. Six million album sales later and with a worldwide reputation as a mind-blowing live act that wow festival audiences the world over, Kaiser Chiefs are back in a BIG way with new album The Future Is Medieval – their fourth Top 10 album in six years. They make a welcome return to Ibiza Rocks, where they’ve gone with the brand from the back room of the club, to the intimate beach bar to the famous stage at the ‘Rocks’ Hotels.
Peanut, Kaiser Chiefs said: “We’ve done Ibiza Rocks a couple of times before, and it’s great because everyone’s on holiday. We did it back in 2005 and Ricky jumped into the crowd. When you’re in Ibiza, it seems like more of a relaxing time compared to other gigs.”
Kasabian are certainly on fire right now, with their fourth studio album Velociraptor taking the group to stratospheric new levels and winning the accolade of ‘Best Band’ at this years’ NME Awards. Kasabian first played Ibiza Rocks in 2006 (Bar M) and returned for a two night residency in 2007. Kasabian are an incendiary live act who consistently tops the polls of fans’ favourite festival headliners. Now the Leicester lads make their hugely anticipated return to head up the two biggest parties in the Balearics – in celebration of Mallorca Rocks 2nd birthday and Ibiza Rocks 7th birthday in July.
Professor Green is one of the hottest talents in the UK music scene right now. The acclaimed rapper’s second album At Your Inconvenience spawned the massive No.1 hit Read All About It. With an MTV Europe Music Award, a MOBO and an NME Award under his belt, Professor Green makes a triumphant return for these Spanish exclusive shows, following his phenomenal headline debut in 2011. DJ Fresh presents FRESH/LIVE joins him on the bill and as the man behind two of the biggest tracks of the past year, No.1 hit singles Louder and Hot Right Now, he certainly is the hot on the block right now and will be equally so in the Balearics.
Hailed by many as the most exciting producers in the UK today, Chase & Status are the biggest crossover act to come out of the underground in years. Their last two ‘Rocks’ shows have been total roadblocks when these boys brought their live show to town in 2010 and 2011. Having sold in excess of 500K albums, they return to the Balearics as bonifide superstars for standout shows in Mallorca and Ibiza in July.
Chase & Status said:“Can't wait to bring our live show over to the White Isle gain this summer. We love Ibiza and are looking forward to playing Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks again this year.”
Tinie Tempah is one of Britain’s biggest stars. Since debut album Disc-Overy hit No. 1, preceded by hit No.1 singles Pass Out and Written in the Stars, the sensational solo star has become one of the most award-winning, best-selling performers of recent times. With Kylie Minogue dancing to his set on the balcony and the fans going nuts all round him last year, Tinie Tempah’s gig was the talk of the town as he teased the ‘Rocks’ crowd to ecstatic proportions. Due to mass public demand, he’ll be doing it again in August.
This is an amazing time for Example. Third album Playing in the Shadows debuted at No.1 and delivered two No.1 singles, Changed the Way You Kissed Me and Stay Awake. Infact, Stay Awake produced by Nero is about waking up at Ibiza Rocks and seeing hundreds of kids still going from the night before. Example strutted his stuff as a support act in 2009 and 2010 before absolutely killing it during his own headline shows at ‘Rocks’ in 2011.
Bloc Party are back and are set to make their ‘Rocks’ debut as part of their hugely anticipated return to the live scene. Ibiza Rocks was born out of a concept to create a night for dance kids who wanted to rock and rock kids who wanted to dance. The East London art rockers, fronted by Kele Okereke, are the very essence of that. This gig has been a long time coming for team ‘Rocks’ and it’s a huge honour to be bringing one of the bands that influenced the brand, Bloc Party, to the Balearics for the very first time.
The newly reformed New Order are back together and will make their massive debut at Mallorca Rocks and Ibiza Rocks in September. One of the most highly influential and critically acclaimed bands of the 1980’s, New Order were the pioneering force behind electronic music, largely responsible for the opening the world famous Hacienda Club in Manchester in 1982 and for 1983 hit Blue Monday, the best-selling 12 inch single of all time. Their 5th album Technique (1989) was partly recorded in Ibiza and perfectly encapsulates Balearic beats and acid house influences into their electro/rock sound. They have influenced generations of hit making musicians the world over and are one of the most in demand on the festival circuit this summer. It will be a proud moment when they take centre stage for these unmissable sets under the Balaeric stars in September.
First up is Canadian electro pioneer deadmau5 – this stadium selling artist has well and truly transcended the superstar DJ frontier and he returns to Creamfields for his last UK festival performance of the year on Sunday’s North Stage. Headlining the South Stage on Saturday will be Avicii, Some things are worth the wait and as one of the most requested acts over recent years this Creamfields debut will undoubtedly be one that goes down in festival history. Having attracted over 25,000 people for his performance in 2011 we’re pleased to welcome back Tiësto who returns to host his own Clublife stage and having secured the No.1 spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 and two Grammy nominations the mighty David Guetta takes the helm of Saturday’s North Stage. It’s undoubtedly been an apocalyptic year for Creamfields regulars the Swedish House Mafia who this year are focusing on their 65,000 capacity show at Milton Keynes Bowl, however, fear ye not as Creamfields has snared them back, this time Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso return to the fields of Cream to perform solo. Grammy award winning breakout star Skrillex performs under canvas this year as headliner of the BBC Radio 1Xtra arena, with his unique brand of dub-step, electro and glitch which has caught the imaginations of the planet’s dance-floors over the last 12 months it’s with great pleasure we welcome him back.
Other highlights come from the Grammy nominated and globally acclaimed Paul van Dyk who jets in from his Cream Ibiza residency just for the occasion, along with one of the most discerning trance outfits in the business Above & Beyond and the mighty Ferry Corsten. We see the return of everyone’s favourite flying Scotsman Calvin Harris who joins deadmau5 on the North stage plus a live performance from singer / rapper / musician / producer extraordinaire Example.
This of course is just the tip of the iceberg as we also introduce four new arenas for 2012. Internationally renowned techno god Richie Hawtin presents his brand new concept in the form of the M-nus presents Enter. Arena, curated by the man himself he brings together some of the most exciting artists from the scene including Loco Dice, Seth Troxler, Gaiser and Paco Osuna. Everyone’s favourite superstylers Groove Armada return to DJ as hosts of their very own arena, expect carnivalesque, ass shaking mayhem from the funk battalion who will be joined by BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix star A-Trak plus the highly anticipated return from DJ/Producer Stuart Price aka Jacques Lu Cont, not to mention performances from the likes of Fake Blood, Jaguar Skills, Alex Metric and Burns. BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Mistajam has curated his own Speakerbox arena featuring performances from the likes of Sub Focus Live, Knife Party, Borgore, Shy FX feat Stamina MC and Redlight. Creamfields favourite and international superstar DJ Mr Eddie Halliwell returns as host as he debuts the all new Fire It Up Arena – there are people who play records and there are DJ’s who blow minds – Eddie is the latter, expect a wagon load of production and SFX too, as this arena will be full throttle from start to finish as he’s joined by the likes of Sander van Doorn, Mark Knight, Funkagenda and Michael Woods to name a few.
Following last year’s superhero success Laidback Luke returns with his Super You&Me arena once again, and to celebrate we welcome a debut performance from American DJ/Producer and Dim Mak Records boss Steve Aoki (expect the odd stage dive!), Wolfgang Gartner, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano – what superhero outfit will you be wearing?
Renowned for fusing legends with rising stars, the Pryda Friends arena is back, Eric Prydz heads up another eclectic line-up featuring a welcome return from John Digweed, debut appearances from Mixmag’s ‘Breakthrough Producer Of The Year’ Maya Jane Coles and Hotflush boss Scuba. Completing the bill for what will be one of the festivals most exciting arenas is Joris Voorn, Sébastien Léger and Jeremy Olander.
The trance continues in the Cream Arena with performances from Above and Beyond, Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz, Judge Jules and Mat Zo. Mafia don Steve Angello returns with his Size Matters arena featuring a special guest performance from Benny Benassi, Pete Tong, younger sibling AN21, Max Vangeli and Third Party.
Other acts include a Creamfields debut from BBC Radio 1 supremo Zane Lowe, Dirty South, Sebastian Ingrosso protégé and label peer Alesso, John O’Callaghan, Feed Me, Hardwell, Simon Patterson, Ørjan Nilsen, Adam Sheridan, Cazzette, Norman Doray, Syn Cole, Guetta collaborator Nicky Romero, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Australian lovelies NERVO and a debut performance from one of the most talked about and in-demand DJ/Remixer/Producer’s Porter Robinson.
They smashed it in 2011 so it’s with great pleasure we welcome back the 1Xtra crew for a second year, only this time they’ve moved to bigger capacity premises to accommodate the genres ever growing fan base, Skrillex is at the helm, along with Andy C feat MC GQ, Caspa, Flux Pavilion, Friction, Koan Sound, Doctor P, Loadstar feat MC Texas and Ikay whilst 1Xtra stable mates Skream feat. Sgt Pokes, Benga feat. Youngman and Mistajam keep the bass alive.
Queen of the mash up Annie Mac has pulled together a salivating line up for her Annie Mac presents arena, expect bass, electro, disco, house and dub-step from one of the most diverse tents on site with performances from dancehall duo Major Lazer, Erol Alkan, Crookers, Melé and rising star Madeon and if that wasn’t enough Brodinski joins Gesaffelstein for a special back to back set.
As well as being the name of Mixmag’s rag-tag bunch of in-house DJs, the Mixmag Allstars arena will feature a mix of the best up and coming DJ’s they’ve discovered in the past 12 months alongside some recognisable big name house DJ’s in the form of James Zabiela, Creamfields South America DJ legend Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Curly and Paul Woolford, combined they will be mixing a perfect Sunday session for those who have still got it in them!
Back to flaunt its ever-growing fabulousness is Hed Kandi who return as hosts of the Hospitality Arena. Last year sold out nearly 3 months in advance and this year we expect even greater demand as word spreads of this exclusive luxurious oasis on site…you have been warned!
And let’s not forget Friday night’s Silent Disco Arenas brought to you from That Mixmag Thing, UNION and Riva Starr’s label Snatch!
Creamfields welcomes back BBC Radio 1 & BBC Radio 1Xtra as this year’s exclusive radio partners; you can hear highlights from the event on both stations – www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 / www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra

UK superstar Example, Pennsylvanian rap lyricist Wiz Khalifa (this will be his only UK show of 2012) and London rap star Professor Green will also join the bill. With Rihanna already confirmed to headline Sunday 8 July, Barclaycard Wireless Festival is set to be an unmissable weekend in London’s iconic Hyde Park.
Canadian born rapper Drake is a bona fide superstar. His recent critically acclaimed album ‘Take Care’, released late last year, debuted atop the Billboard Top 100 chart whilst in the UK it went in at number five with the biggest first week sales figure of any US hip hop artist in the UK last year. His spring UK arena tour also sold out in an incredible 24 hours, shifting more than 100,000 tickets in the process! A dynamic and passionate performer renowned for his energetic performances and creative stage designs, Drake’s Barclaycard WirelessFestival performance is sure to be a powerful and visual spectacle.
Example will be back in full force this summer, hitting Barclaycard WirelessFestival for his forth year in a row. His latest studio album ‘Playing in the Shadows’ released in September last year, debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts and has already spawned two number one singles – ‘Changed The Way You Kiss Me’ and ‘Stay Awake’. Example says:
"This will be my 4th year in a row at Wireless. We must be doing something right! I feel like part of the furniture now. Over the years I've moved up from stage to stage and played bigger slots but I can honestly say every one of them was equally epic. Whether it was opening the main stage or closing one of the smaller tents the crowd was always packed and buzzing with energy. The backdrop of Hyde Park adds a certain air of heritage and great tradition to the whole event. I can't wait."
Pittsburgh’s hottest export, rap lyricist Wiz Khalifa, will bring his East Coast hip-hop to Hyde Park, this will be his only UK performance of 2012. His latest album ‘At Your Inconvenience’ was released late last year with the recent single ‘Read All About It’ hitting number one, cementing him as a bonafide weapon in the UK music scene. Professor Green said:
"I'm really excited to be performing at Wireless again. Wireless 2010 was a real highlight of that year. The tent was a roadblock and it was lively. I'm confident that this year it will be bigger and better and I can't wait to get back on that stage in Hyde Park. Roll on the summer…"

Today saw the 16th edition of V Festival hit Hylands Park in Chelmsford. V Festival is known for providing a diverse lineup to suit everyone and thats exactly what we had this Saturday.
From the headlining Arctic Monkeys, through to to Jessie J, Chase & Status, Aloe Blac, Ziggy Marley and even a comedy tent, it was not hard to be pleased.
Sheffield rockers Arctic Monkeys brought Saturday to an almight close as they trailed through hits from their latest album 'Suck It and See' as well as hits from their previous albums. Notable tracks like 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' went down a treat with the crowd in the main arena that streched right to the back.
Aloe Blacc's soulful and cool presense on stage was the perfect fit for a sun drenched crowd who were lapping up his energy. The crowd got into full swing when Aloe performed his hit 'I Need A Dollar'.
Over on the V Stage, Bruno Mars came out to a wet welcome as the rain started to come down at Hylands Park. Opening with his hit 'The Lazy Song' the crowd, unfazed by the change in weather, continued to sing song after song with Bruno.
With the rain subsiding, the welcoming sun shone over Hylands Park. We headed to The Arena where hip hop star Wiz Khalifa was performing. Wiz has a laidback style about him and he came out performing with a mic on a stand! Fresh off his Rolling Papers album Wiz Khalifa banged out tune after tune with 'Black & Yellow' the biggest song of his set.
Back on the 4 Music Stage, Example had the majority of the crowd bouncing to his army of tracks which included his latest single 'Natural Disaster'.
Still with a cast on her leg, Jessie J arrived to a packed out arena on the 4 Music Stage to perform whilst sitting on her throne. Even though she was confined to sitting down, her performance is still amazing and energetic, you can see how much she just wants to get up and dance! She stated 'It's my first time performing in Essex, this time last year I was in the crowd!'
