Summercamp announces free access to Street Food Market and Outdoor Stages

For their debut year, Summercamp will be opening up part of the festival to the public for free from 11:00am until 11:00pm on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle Area. Two stages of music and a bountiful street food market will be open for all to enjoy over what is set to be the city’s best bank holiday yet.
The Summercamp Street Food market will satiate every appetite this bank holiday whilst also acting as a showcase for the North West’s best street food talents. Feeding the masses will be Dirty Dogs, Fire & Salt BBQ, Streatza, The Moocher, Ginger’s Comfort Emporium, Tio's Snack Shack, Las Paelleras, Pancake Corner, Honest Crust and Can Cook. Thirst will be quenched thanks sponsors Thwaites, serving their best Wartiener and Kaltenberg brews.
 
The Johnny Sands and The Kazimier Krunk stages provide Summercamp’s alfresco music, so when guests are not eating they should certainly be dancing. The stages include Harlequin Dynamite Marching Band, Silent Cities and Hey Carrianne amongst many more.
 
A limited number of tickets for the full Summercamp experience will be available on the door starting at just £20. With a ticket guests can enjoy not only the outdoor activities but also a whole host of premium music, food, art, film and family fun inside host venue, Camp and Furnace.
 
Now added to the feasts on offer inside Summercamp is a menu from Michelin-starred chef Glynn Purrnell. A winner of ‘The Great British Menu’, Purrnell’s feast is the opportunity to add fine food to quality music and more for only £75 (including Summercamp day pass). Diners can expect Cured organic salmon, wasabi crumble, slow cooked Ox cheek and more.
 
Musically, Summercamp boasts Martha Wainwright, Ghostpoet, Mount Kimbie and many more including the latest addition of Artic Monkey-endorsed duo Royal Blood. Add to that an art programme from Liverpool Biennial and film as chosen by FACT and Summercamp shapes up as the best choice for August Bank Holiday weekend.

Delphic, Ed Harcourt and more added to Summercamp Festival lineup

Liverpool’s newest urban festival of food, music and art is proud to announce the latest additions to its programme with more tasty morsels added to both the food and music line-ups of Summercamp, which takes place on August Bank Holiday weekend, and is part of the Liverpool International Music Festival. Delphic, Ed Harcourt, Wave Machines and more take to the stage while the food festival will feature feasts for all. Tickets start at £20 and are available to buy from the official Summercamp website.

Indie-electronic trio Delphic, who recently returned to the airwaves with a bang following the release of seductive single ‘Baiya’, have added a foot-stomping date at Summercamp to their summer touring schedule. Also confirmed is the Mercury Prize-nominated Ed Harcourt, a singer who recently released an album recorded in just one night at the legendary Abbey Road studios. Home-grown talent stepping up to the mic includes the synth-guitar, indie-poppers Wave Machines, while folk, haunting acoustics and soulful vocals are also in store for the Summercamp crowds with the additions of Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Josef Salvat and Marika Hackman.

Away from the sound systems, the ovens and grills of Camp and Furnace will be producing similarly cheer-inducing performances. Families can enjoy a ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ including children’s cookery classes, milkshake and Doughnut stands. Encouraging a ‘sensuous connection to the food’ the ‘No Knives or Forks’ midday lunch on both Saturday and Sunday boasts venison, langoustines, suckling pig, warm triple chocolate brownie and much more. Sunday night-owls need not go hungry with ‘Fridgeraiders’, quite literally as it sounds where tea smoked salmon, Lancashire cheese, ‘leftover curry’ and more are all for the taking via numerous fridges in a special late-night setting. A vegetarian 10-course banquet cheekily named ‘Tree Huggers’ may even tempt carnivores with slow roasted garlic, goat’s curd and duck egg or beetroot macarons, an even fussier vegan option can also be arranged. And the out-of this world ‘Gothic Midnight Feast’ promises to push boundaries with edible candlesticks, explosive foods and hidden woodland treasures. Last but by no means least, in the melting pot are numerous ‘Food Slams’ set to take place several times daily on Saturday and Sunday showcasing the outlandish skills of Summercamp’s chefs. Leefest Lineup announcement

Organisers have announced Audio Doughnuts, London Based Club Night, Record Label and Music Agency, to take over the Temple of Boom on Sunday 14th July, bringing Melé, Dark Sky and Pusherman to LeeFest in South East London this July.

They will be joining Stanton Warriors and No Artificial Colours on the dance section of the line up, as well as the Noisettes and Delphic who are set to headline the intimate 2500 capacity festival this year.

Artists also released today to play the Temple of Boom stage include Jesse James (Connected, London Club Brand), Rattus Rattus (Urban Nerds), Sai (Sai’s House Party) and rising stars I Killed Kenny among many others.

The following acts are also set to appear across the festival’s four stages: The Other Tribe, Stanton Warriors, Man Like Me, Public Service Broadcasting, Lulu James, Fiction, Stealing Sheep & To Kill A King.

The homegrown festival, run by Lee Denny and a team of young volunteers, was rebelliously founded in his back garden in Bromley, Kent in 2006 whilst his parents were away on holiday.

Named 2012’s “Best Independent Festival” by the Association of Independent Music, the festival has recently grabbed headlines for taking the extraordinary step of allowing fans to join its board of creative directors. By raising money through crowd funding website Kickstarter, the LeeFest organisers plan to double the size of the event whilst safeguarding the festival’s non-profit status.
