Providing guests with access to the ultimate clubber’s playground and a completely new audiovisual festival experience is the best VIP area GlobalGathering has ever seen. 2012 sees the introduction of a plane crash site theme, ensuring the sanctuary that is the VIP Fields and the party hub, the VIP Woods, perfectly compliment Long Marston Airfield’s aeronautical heritage.

Next to the VIP campsite and entered through a tunnel of windsocks, the VIP Fields are a place to relax, recharge, socialise and enjoy the delicious range of food and drink on offer throughout the weekend. With a Global Impact plane crash theme, the Fields will be dominated by the cockpit of a plane and feature chill-out areas including seating booths created out of graffiti covered cargo boxes, cargo net nests, specially adapted tyres and the Global Reclaim suitcase tunnel.

Tucked away between the VIP Fields and the main festival action are the more intimate VIP Woods. The Global Airways Hangar will dominate GlobalGathering’s very own enchanted forest, which truly comes alive at night. An incredible two story structure styled as a retro airplane hangar, the ground level will host a nightclub where VIP DJ’s and surprise guests will ensure it’s the hottest, most exclusive spot on site. Upstairs, the VIP Pilot’s Lounge will host a chillout area whilst outside, The Good Life zone will be filled with hammocks for revellers who prefer their R&R under fairy lit tries.

The VIP Woods will also invite guests to explore the secret pathways that take them to hidden gems including The Enchanted Garden, an oversized tropical oasis and the Mad Aviator’s Tea Party, featuring a long dining table doused in colourful lighting and seating area (magic teapots not included).

Stereosonic 2011 Brisbane Review

Stereosonic

With the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Afrojack, The Bloody Beetroots, LMFAO and more, I knew I was in for a MASSIVE day. Stereosonic has a brilliant phone app (for iphones and android) that you can you use with event info, lineups, set times, maps and most importantly a planner. As there are multiple stages, this ensured that I saw everyone I wanted to.

We started off checking out what was on offer and easing into the day. We swanned between stages checking out the likes of Andy C and Bagraiders and the atmosphere was buzzing! I’ve got to say a definite highlight of my day was when the masked duo Bloody Beetroots played Warp. If you haven’t heard of this italian duo, they are definitely worth checking out.

Stereosonic is not just a day full of massive DJ’s and live acts, it is also a day where fashion takes on a whole new meaning. The costumes and getups were amazing but with most, it was a case of less is more. With most of the beautiful ladies opting to say no to material. Even though the event has a shirts on policy for the boys, by 5pm that policy went out the window. I have never been to an event with such little clothing on happy punters.

Now it was time to head to the mainstage. The sun was starting to set and as LMFAO hit the stage, the entire festival just went off! They started off with ‘Sorry For Party Rocking’ and of cause they were in their classic animal print and highlighter getups. They had the same backup dancers from their videos and they were amazing doing all the crazy moves that defy gravity. Sky Blu unfortunately wasn’t able to make the gig cause of a back injury but Redfoo was definitely capable of holding the gig by himself. The entire festival shuffled to I’m in Miami Bitch and Champagne Showers leaving their massive hits till last. I have never seen so many people shuffle, wiggle and and thrust their hips at one time when they encored with ‘Sexy and I Know It’.

When Armin van buuren hit the stage, it was pure brilliance. Even though tired after a day of dancing, you couldn’t help but stomp your feet with the massive tunes, pyro and fireworks, it was an awesome way to finish off the festival.

All in all, Stereosonic is always a super fun, super crowded day of dancing and good tunes. While it’s not an event for the faint of heart, it definitely came through with the goods this year.

Now in its 5th year, Stereosonic is the brainchild of two Australian boutique event companies with the vision to bring the best in ever-popular and new talent to a discerning music crowd.  Our ethos is simple: Try to provide the best lineup, the best venues, the best experience whilst improving each year at the best possible price.  Stereosonic is Australia’s largest electronic music festival, now let’s get to it…

What a year for our Artists!
AfrojackWhether it be Afrojack winning a grammy and reaching #1 in US and Australian charts, LMFAO owning the Australian Pop Charts for 11 weeks, Benny Benassi and his big tunes/collaborations and massive new album ‘Electroman’, Aviici bursting onto every major festival and club chart or Empire of the Sun’s epic show at ‘Ultra Music’ in Miami and ‘Coachella’, it has been a huge year for this year’s artists. Armin van Buuren sold out his ‘A State Of Trance 500’ show in Sydney earlier in the year, Carl Cox is currently rocking it in Ibiza with his ‘Carl Cox and Friends’ night, Dash Berlin has been storming up the DJ Mag Top 100 in super fashion, Pretty Lights has been rocking the planet being dubbed as the new Girltalk, Dirty South flying the Australian flag worldwide, whilst Ferry Corsten is getting ready to drop his new, tasty, massive album! Speaking of new albums, Kaskade has a killer new album to come, BT is back with a new live show and more. There is so much to go on about, its ridiculous!

Ticket prices in comparison to other festivals
In staying true to our core ethos, Stereosonic will continue to aim to deliver the best lineups possible, at the best possible ticket price. We have raised the prices slightly this year to help improve our services to you on the day and to enable us to deliver the biggest acts in electronic music!
