Afrojack
Afrojack replaces CeeLo Green on MasterCard Balaton Sound
CeeLo Green cancelled all his shows in July due to professional reasons, but the organizers of MasterCard Balaton Sound quickly filled the gap in the line-up with one of the most popular Dutch DJs, Afrojack.
Now it’s official that the Gnarls Barkley duo member, CeeLo Green will be one of the judges of the American Voice talent show, for which reason he cancelled his shows in July and will fly back to the US. Therefore, he will not perform on 12 July in Zamárdi; instead, the organizers of MasterCard Balaton Sound will bring one of the most popular Dutch DJs, Nick van de Well aka Afrojack to further strengthen the line-up. Afrojack’s gig was a great success last year on Day 0 of the lakeside event, which made sure he appeared on many fans’ wishlist for this year’s festival.

ANNOUNCED FOR SW4 SATURDAY
AFROJACK
PAUL OAKENFOLD · MARK KNIGHT
ORJAN NILSEN · TOCADISCO
He is a double Grammy Award winning, platinum selling producer. A chart topping, crowd slaying icon. And he is unquestionably one of the most in demand DJs on the planet. South West Four is delighted to confirm the addition of Afrojack to our 10th Anniversary lineup. Debuting on Clapham Common on Saturday 24th August, the Dutch phenomenon’s skills are some of the most sought after in the world. He has worked alongside Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga and David Guetta, whilst his own tracks each amass millions of views on YouTube. With all this success it has allowed him to form his own imprint ‘Wall Recordings’ giving him a platform to release his own material and provide a stepping stone to upcoming artists. Our advice to you? Take this rare chance to catch Afrojack perform in the capital, his first since last summer and his only London festival performance of 2013.
With a career spanning three decades and showing no signs of slowing down, Paul Oakenfold is the elite statesman of British electronic music. From residencies in Las Vegas to jaw dropping spectacles on each and every continent, Oakie’s colossal fanbase travel the world to catch one of his sets. Luckily for you, we have him back at South West Four for the first time since his emotional homecoming back in 2010. Never afraid of pushing boundaries, Paul has enjoyed countless standout moments during his incredible career including help shape the infamous ‘Madchester’ scene of the late 80s, produce an album for U2 and pioneer the explosion of dance music in America. At one point Paul even lived in Clapham, making his return to South West Four for our 10th Anniversary more significant than ever.
Mark Knight makes a welcome return to South West Four in 2013. This will be his fourth performance at SW4 in the past five years in fact, with the Toolroom Records governor and Grammy nominated producer one of the first names on our 10th Anniversary hit list. In 2010 Mark hosted a Toolroom Knights stage at SW4, whilst in 2009 and 2012 he drew massive crowds to the main stage. In 2013 Mark returns to one of our indoor arenas to present some of the finest names in house music. As a DJ Mark constantly sets the pace and is recognised worldwide for his long standing residencies at cherished haunts such as Space Ibiza and Ministry of Sound. A key fixture at the festival in recent years we are delighted to welcome Mark back to South West Four.
Orjan Nilsen is a Norwegian DJ and producer who grew up well north of the polar circle, far away from most things. His cultured productions however would suggest he grew up somewhere with a far more accessible music scene. The talented young Scandinavian shot to the worlds attention in 2011 when he stormed into the DJ Mag top 100 chart at #49 and a IDMA nomination for ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ soon followed. Since then has gone on to gain support from SW4 favourites Gareth Emery and Armin van Buuren, with the aptly named ‘Belter’ a collaboration with the latter. Known for his flawless ability to bring life to any dance floor, we welcome him to South West Four for the first time in 2013 as he plays to the biggest dance floor of them all.
Hailing from deepest, darkest Cologne, Roman Boer has been making deep and tech house for the best part of fifteen years. Better known by his stage name Tocadisco, the German maestro has remixed over one hundred artists including Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki, Moby and Tiga to name a few. You would have unquestionably heard Tocadisco’s music featured on TV ads, whilst his radio show is broadcasted to over fifty countries. His own imprint TOCA45, showcases the freshest sounding club tracks available today and with this appearance being his only London festival show this year, make sure you get to his tent with plenty of time to spare.
ANNOUNCED FOR SW4 SUNDAY
GROOVE ARMADA
TOTALLY ENORMOUS
EXTINCT DINOSAURS
PETE TONG
THE 2 BEARS · DUSKY
Here at SW4 HQ we have had our feathers ruffled by the fact that Groove Armada are at long last making their South West Four debut. Marking this as their first London festival performance outside of Lovebox in over a decade, Andy Cato and Tom Findlay are the Cambridge-come-London brigade who have certainly seen it and done it all over the last eighteen years. In that time they have managed to run club nights, conceptualise festivals and not to mention release eight studio albums. Those LPs have been jam-packed full of bonafide hits, like the Grammy nominated ‘Superstylin’, which was shortlisted on Mixmag’s ‘Greatest Dance Track of All Time’ poll, to the harmoniously utopian ‘At the River’ which comprehensively appears on every chill out compilation known to man. File this appearance under ‘for the history books’…
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (or TEED if you feel the need to abbreviate) is one of the most fascinating, over-the-top British talents to emerge in recent years. Having released an EP through Greco-Roman (partially run by Joe Goddard of Hot Chip / The 2 Bears), TEED subsequently got picked up by label giant Polydor to release his first full length album ‘Trouble’ last summer. Orlando Higginbottom, as he is known to his nearest and dearest, is an artist who’s always on point in the studio, with productions that fluctuate between jungle rhythms and dance floor anthems with pop sensibilities. His unique style has perked up the ears of club goers and producing peers alike, so join us at South West Four for his spectacular live show. Expect glitter, dancers, extravagant head-wear and of course, dinosaurs.
Pete Tong: the world’s undisputed ambassador for electronic music. It’s quite a title, but one that is whole heartily deserved. Having been broadcasting on BBC Radio 1 since 1991, he has become widely acclaimed across the world as the tastemaker for dance music. Pete fell in love with a fresh new sound coming out of USA in the late 80’s and blazed a trail championing the sound. Fast-forward 20 plus years and things have come full circle, with nothing more relevant right now than electronic music – and Pete's position as anchor for brand new USA radio station Evolution, with a show that's broadcast daily across the country is testament to that. Pete has an astounding flair to break new talent; he’s helped kick start the careers of hundreds of artists, giving them the infamous ‘Pete Tong Push’. Now in 2013, with a brand new high profile Ibizan residency soon to be announced, regular trips to the states for high profile gigs, and a global touring schedule to make your eyes water, not to mention single, remix and compilation releases abound, Pete has never been more important. A real favourite at the festival, we welcome him back to South West Four for another essential performance!
The 2 Bears comprises of Joe Goddard, one fifth of the inimitable Hot Chip and Raf Rundell, a man who has played an integral role in running London’s clubbing scene for many years. Formed in 2009, the pair shared a musical vision and decided the next logical step was to start producing tracks together. Their debut album ‘Be Strong’ came out last year on Southern Fried Records, a hugely enjoyable homage to UK garage and Detroit flavours and filled to the brim with playful melodies and love-able lyrics. With Joe back on Hot Chip duties last summer, this year marks the bears coming out of hibernation, with Clapham Common the only woods you’ll find them in London this August.
London based producers Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman are the eclectic pairing known as Dusky. The duo already have a long list of accolades to their name including their 2011 LP ‘Stick By This’ being named Pete Tongs album of the year and ‘Flo Jam’ being given the crown of iTunes Dance Single of the Year. Last year they remixed Justin Martin’s seemingly untouchable ‘Don’t Go’ and put out a buffed out version that sent blogs and forums into chaos. Needless to say it was hands down the soundtrack of the winter. With their latest offering ‘Nobody Else’ out now on Will Saul’s AUS imprint shaping up to be just as much of a hit, the future sound of London seems safe in Dusky’s more than capable hands.
Full Creamfields lineup revealed including headliners The Prodigy, Avicii, Tiësto & more!
Over the past six months we have strived to deliver to you what we believe is the biggest line up we have ever seen at the festival, starting with Saturday headliners, The Prodigy.
As one of the most, if not the most influential dance acts on the planet, we’re pleased to announce The Prodigy will be headlining the North Stage on Saturday 24th August for their only UK performance this year. Expect bomb squad production, appendix churning bass and rushing keyboard hooks as you experience one of the greatest live shows of your lifetime.
Headlining the South Stage on Saturday will be Avicii. After thousands watched the Swedish phenomenon smash it last year we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us this time. Whilst Avicii enjoys the fresh heights of fame, one DJ who has been at the top of his game for the past two decades is Tiësto. A performer who has transcended musical genres, Tiësto continues to be one of the World’s top DJs and that’s why we’re happy to announce that he will be returning with the Clublife South Stage on Sunday. Proceeding with our world class line-up, we welcome back David Guetta who continues his global domination with the news that he has hit the 1 million sales record for his track ‘Titanium’ ft Sia, not to mention the numerous awards he has won over the past 12 months. As ever David will be bringing his full scale production and vast music catalogue to close Sunday’s North Stage.
Size Records has become the starting block for many a DJ/producer over the past few years and at its helm is Steve Angello. As one of the most successful electronic producers of his time, Steve’s sets at Creamfields are always epic and we assure you this year will be no different. If that wasn’t enough we've also got his partner in crime Sebastian Ingrosso hosting his very first ‘All Mixed Up’ arena on Sunday. If you haven’t experienced these guys’ sets before, you better get ready because they know how to party, hard.
One DJ collective who uphold a 100% success rate for giving their audience goosebumps are Above & Beyond, famed for their interactive, uplifting performances we can’t wait to have them back at the show. Another act we’re excited to see is Paul van Dyk. Paul is a Cream legend, having played for the festival nearly every year since its inception and also maintaining a successful residency at Cream Ibiza he consistently delivers and will be back to headline the Cream Arena on Sunday.
Further highlights this year include Eric Prydz aka Pryda whose February Essential Mix is still a constant on the Creamfields office speakers plus the ferocious Knife Party who will take to Saturday’s South Stage to treat us with their heady cocktail of sounds from dubstep and electro to drum and bass and moombahton. They will be joined by the DJ with the Midas touch, Nicky Romero, who recently celebrated his first UK number 1 with the track ‘I Could Be The One’ featuring Avicii. We also have Grammy-award winner Afrojack, DJ Mag Top 100 #6 Hardwell, wonderkid Porter Robinson and Refune prodigy Alesso who is back after that amazing set on last year’s South Stage. Also listen out for Groove Armada as they will be sure to debut some brand new tracks in the Nation Arena as they recently announced that they’re heading back into the studio. From legends to fresh faces we couldn’t believe our eyes when we first saw Madeon play, so much talent and still only 18! If you haven’t seen his ‘Pop Culture’ video on YouTube yet – look now – and don’t miss his North Stage debut.
Ensuring our stages are kept booming across both days we’ve put together a delectable line-up of stars including NERVO, Zane Lowe, Zedd, Tommy Trash, Feed Me, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Borgore, Norman Doray, Alvaro, Major Look Tom Staar, and Pegboard Nerds.
Shaking things up for this year we introduce a fresh new arena from Pete Tong. The All Gone Pete Tong arena embodies Pete’s ability to push and nurture new talent whilst still representing the artists who helped forge the scene. First on the invite list is Sasha, ready to drop tracks from his brand new Involv3r compilation release and making a welcome return to the festival after a year hiatus. Moving on from one of Mixmag’s first cover stars to their DJ of 2012, Solomun, will be bringing the sounds of his Diynamic label to the show for the first time. Completing this tasty first line-up are leading DJ/ producers Joris Voorn, David Squillace, Hernan Cattaneo, Hot Since 82 and Jaymo & Andy George. Bring it.
From ‘All Gone Pete Tong’ to ‘All Mixed Up’; the brand new arena presented by Sebastian Ingrosso, which features himself and protégé Alesso as well as very special guest Armand van Helden, Otto Knows, Mat Zo, Deniz Koyu and Carli. Whilst Steve Angello and the Size Matters posse will be raising the roof once again with acts Benny Benassi, AN21, Max Vangeli, Third Party, Tim Mason, Quilinez and Wayne & Woods.
Creamfields’ first lady Annie Mac has pulled it out of the bag once again with the line-up for the Annie Mac Presents Arena which includes a live performance from the BBC’s coveted Sound of 2013 #2 act, AlunaGeorge. The über talented duo will also be joined by breakthrough house producerJulio Bashmore whose infectious melodies are certain to provide the perfect summer festival vibe, and the extremely talented Eats Everything and his ‘Feather Fight’ cohort Justin Martin. In addition, we also welcome rising stars Toddla T Sound and Monki and along with the man behind the ‘Harlem Shake,' Baauer.
After last year we have made it our mission to get the acts you missed back to this year’s festival including the mighty Richie Hawtin and his unique ENTER. Arena concept. Now an award-winning night in Ibiza, ENTER. will provide a Balearic atmosphere on Sunday complimented by the beats of the mighty Loco Dice, Seth Troxler, Gaiser, Paco Osuna and Hobo.
As a much revered institution at Creamfields we’re always excited to see the line-up for the Pryda Friends Arena and this year Eric Prydz has surpassed even our expectations offering up sets from renowned techno producer Marco Carola, RA’s #10 of 2012 Maya Jane Coles plus a welcome return from Adam Beyer. We also have a debut appearance from Maceo Plex and music from Scuba, George Fitzgerald and Fehrplay.
When it comes to bass, beats and solid grooves there are two people who never let you down and that’s why this year we’ve asked Skream & Benga to curate a brand new arena for Saturday. Skream & Benga present will feature sets from the men themselves as well as a few of their friends including Ram Records founder Andy C, Redlight, Rustie, Jack Beats, Alvin Risk, Zinc, Bondax, Clean Bandit, Kidnap Kid, Woz plus many more.
Celebrating the landmark 10th edition of their renowned label showcase with ‘Anjunabeats Volume 10’, Above & Beyond present the Anjunabeats Arena in association with Mixmag for the first time at Creamfields offering plenty of euphoric, hands in the air moments with a little help from their ‘On A Good Day’ co-producer Gareth Emery, Cream legend Paul Oakenfold and Arty. They will also be bringing the cream of the Anjuna crop in the form of Norin & Rad and Andrew Bayer.
Topping up the trance on Sunday we have the iconic Cream Arena, our longest standing arena, filled with memories, many made by these guys –Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten. They will be celebrating this special anniversary with John O’Callaghan, Simon Patterson, Jordan Suckleyand Adam Sheridan.
Prepare your superhero costumes as Laidback Luke returns with the SuperYou&Me Arena! Steve Aoki will finally make his Creamfields debut along with his rider of cakes, inflatables and plenty of champagne for everyone! And the party doesn’t stop there! Eddie Halliwell will be making sure you’re fired up while Chuckie and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano will be making up the Dutch contingent supported by Tom Swoon and La Fuenta.
Whilst Skream & Benga ensure the bass is covered on Saturday, Mistajam will show us what his Speakerbox imprint has got on Sunday with a headline live performance from Sub Focus and a Creamfields debut for London boys Modestep. The raw talent in this arena doesn’t end there with sets to look forward to from Digital Soundboy’s Shy Fx plus Mistajam himself, Monsta, Killsonik, Friction, Majestic, Decibel, North Base andBitR8.
After last year’s success we’re bringing the Nation concept undercover with the Nation Arena headlined by Groove Armada, with return performances from A-Trak, Fake Blood and Jaguar Skills. Plus we’ve also got sets from emerging talent Jackmaster, Burns and Eli & Fur.
Providing beats on the harder side of dance is the Goodgreef Xtra-Hard Arena which features performances from the likes of Kutksi, Andy Whitby, Alex Kidd, the Organ Donors plus many more, and for those who prefer the finer side of life, Hed Kandi return as hosts of the Hospitality Arena.
It has become somewhat of a tradition to have the Mixmag as our official warm-up hosts for the festival and this year is no different as they bring you ‘That Mixmag Thing’ silent disco arena on Friday 23rd August with DJ Mag’s youngest covermount artist – at just 17! – Danny Avila and Mixmag’s ‘one to watch’ Deniz Koyu plus the Mixmag Allstars. If you like things a little deeper and darker then Riva Starr’s Snatch! silent disco arena is the place for you. This year Riva has brought with him some of the most exciting acts to watch out for this year including ‘Producers Producer’ Duke Dumont, Dirty Bird’s Shadow Child and more. We can’t wait for this! Finally Unit7 introduce the WRHSmusic arena armed with their favourite acts of the moment, including Russ Chimes who will be bringing his own unique brand of amped up, atmospheric and pop-savvy dance music to the silent disco as well as the brilliant Citizen.

Drop your demo in the demo box that’s set up at the registration desk during the conference, and top DJ and producer Dave Clarke will be the judge of it: ‘Although the title of the panel suggests explosive commentary,’ Clarke says, ‘you should see this as an opportunity to get support and great insight into your unsigned music by some of the top professionals in this field.’
