Calling Festival announce flash ticket sale

Calling Festival, the Capital’s premier festival for music lovers, today announced a one-off flash sale to celebrate the tenth successful year of the event. As a thank you to its loyal fans and in celebration of ten years of Calling, a limited amount of tickets will be sold at special rates, starting with a price band of just £21 with no booking fee. The tickets will then incrementally rise up through ten price brackets until they again reach normal 2015 pricing. These tickets are sold on a strictly first come first serve basis, so get in early to grab yourself a bargain! Calling Festival takes place in Clapham Common on Saturday 4 July and is headlined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. The flash sale starts at 6pm on Tuesday 9 Juneand is available at www.livenation.co.uk (all tickets are subject to an order processing fee).

This year’s Calling Festival will see huge names and the hottest up-and-coming acts descend upon Clapham Common. Headlined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, alongside Ryan Adams and the ShiningModest Mouse, Echo and the Bunnymen and festival favourites The HivesCalling Festival will also play host to a stellar range of the hottest new talent, including Wolf Alice who headline the second stage, Bleachers, led by Jack Antonoff of Grammy-Award winners ‘Fun’,Sunset Sons, nominees of BBC Sound of 2015, Deaf Havana frontman James Veck GillodiSundara KarmaOscaWhite Room and Vant have been announced to electrify the stage at this year’s event.

Calling Festival add Sunset Sons, Bleachers and many more

The line-up for Calling Festival 2015 heats up as Sunset Sons, Bleachers, Sundara Karma, White Room, James Veck Gilodi, VANT and Osca are confirmed, joining Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds for one of the biggest days in London’s festival calendar. Calling Festival takes place in Clapham Common on Saturday 4 July. Calling Festival 2015 is renowned for bringing the hottest new acts to the forefront, and this year’s line-up does not disappoint. Sunset Sons, nominees of BBC Sound of 2015, will bring their beachy, surfer rock vibes to the festival. The band have been making waves across the UK; their debut album The Fall Line has been riding high in the iTunes chart and the majority of UK dates are sold out. Bleachers, lead by Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff, are fast becoming a crowd favourite following a string of shows in the UK. Their frenetic energy and relentless explosive sound have been getting high praise on both sides of the Atlantic.  

James Veck Gilodi, front man of Deaf Havana, has been confidently striding around the UK selling out shows as he carves out his future as a singer-songwriter. Inspired by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, his effortlessly honest folksy acoustic sound has been delighting fans and his song writing ability has been well documented.Sundara Karma, are the all driving, rousing indie quartet from Reading. Gathering the support of resident BBC Radio 1 DJs Fearne Cotton and Huw Stephens, their dreamy, almost psychedelic sound has been described as ‘the sound of summer’.

VANT have enjoyed an incredible start to the year on all fronts. Described as a cross between The Kinks and the Pixies, 2015 has seem the band supporting the likes of Royal Blood, The Bohicas and Hinds, and receiving extensive airplay from BBC Radio 1 and XFM.  London four-piece Osca have been hotly tipped as the next big thing by nearly every tastemaker blog, website and the likes of Zane Lowe proclaiming their last single a ‘next hype’ record. 

Finally, White Room have grabbed the attention of the music industry, including the ‘Modfather’ Paul Weller – who they have supported on several occasions. The band have drawn comparisons with the Stone Roses and The Charlatans, and will bring some Britpop vibes to the Common. 

Calling Festival takes place at one of London’s best outdoor locations, Clapham Common. The multi-stage festival is steeped in heritage, where music icons Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Paul Simon, The Who, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, The Killers, Bon Jovi and more have all previously jetted in to headline its main stage. Last year, over 80,000 people flocked to Calling to experience music from legends Stevie Wonder and Aerosmith, plus an amazing daytime lineup of top musicians.

Modest Mouse and Wolf Alice added to Calling Festival 2015 lineup

Modest Mouse will make a debut performance at this year’s Calling Festival. The US rockers have packed venues on both sides of the Atlantic, showcasing their incredible live performances which feature a cacophony of guitars, violins, horns, keyboards and drum kits, creating an unforgettable, electrifying live set. A new album, Strangers To Ourselveswill be released later this month. 

Wolf Alice, led by the stunning Ellie Rowsell, are also confirmed. Get ready for thunderous riffs and sweat-drenched moshing to tracks like ‘Moaning Lisa Smile’, plus moments of utter bliss and velvety tones on the tune ‘Blush’.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will headline Saturday 4 July at Calling Festival, the band’s first appearance at the Clapham Common event and first outdoor headline performance. 2015 is set to be a huge year for the guys as it will see the release of their eagerly awaited second studio album Chasing Yesterday.

Ryan Adams is also confirmed and ready to play a thundering set at Calling Festival 2015. The prolific singer-songwriter will perform hits from his incredible back catalogue and tracks from his latest self-titled album, which reached Number 6 in the UK album charts.

The Hives make a welcomed return to the festival. Get ready for a set filled with top and tails, air kicks, incorrigible humour, energetic rock and the biggest tracks from the band’s extensive repertoire. Finally Echo and the Bunnymen, one of the most acclaimed British alt-groups of the 80s, are confirmed for some incredible, dark and gloomy post punk fused with 60s inspired psychedelia.

Jack Johnson, Paloma Faith and more join Calling Festival lineup

This years rebranded Calling Festival will arrive at Clapham Common this June and we can announce that Jack Johnson, Paloma Faith and India Arie join the bill on Sunday 29 June in London’s Clapham Common. Radkey, Heaven’s Basement and more announced for Saturday 28 June.  The two-day event is headlined by Aerosmith and Stevie Wonder. 

Jack Johnson will make a Calling Festival debut this summer. The acclaimed singer-songwriter will perform hits spanning his five studio albums, including three UK Number One albums, such as ‘Better Together’, ‘Sitting Waiting Wishing’ and ‘You and Your Heart’. Paloma Faith also makes a first appearance at Calling Festival. Expect hits including ‘New York’, ‘Picking Up The Pieces’ and ‘Stone Cold Sober’ to be big crowd pleasers. Also joining the Sunday bill is Grammy-Award winning, multi-million selling India Arie.

Saturday’slineup sees hotly tipped Radkey, rockers Heaven’s Basement and Lonely The Brave, Australian indie four-piece The Jezabels, indie-funk band No Hot Ashes, Bristol R&B group Tax The Heat, American singer-songwriter Chantal Claret, power pop band The 3 Dudes and fresh from supporting Status Quo on tour, Toseland all join the bill.

 

Stevie Wonder to headline London’s Calling Festival

This years festival circuit got a great boost as we announce that the iconic Stevie Wonder will headline London's Calling Festival in Clapham Common.

Stevie Wonder will astound crowds in Clapham Common this summer with a live show packed with unequivocally classic songs on Sunday 29 June. Renowned as a live performance tour de force, Stevie Wonder’s unmistakeable music will be a perfect closing headliner to the an amazing weekend of music.

Joining the Saturday 28 June lineup is American rock icon Richie Sambora, known for his raw vocals, indelible songwriting and world-class guitar playing. His performance will feature special guest, Australian singer-songwriter and guitar goddessOrianthi.

Aerosmith to headline London’s Calling Festival

Aerosmith, one of America’s greatest rock bands, will return to London for the first time in four years to bring mind-blowing power riffs mixed with glam-rock flair to Calling Festival. Blasting through an incredible catalogue, the US rockers will treat fans to an electrifying set including ‘Cryin’’, ‘Crazy’, ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’, ‘Dream On’, ‘Love In An Elevator’, and ‘Walk This Way’, live in one of London’s great parks on Saturday 28 June 2014.

Brit rockers Thunder, Seattle hard rockers Walking Papers and guitar mastermind Joe Bonamassa are also confirmed for Calling Festival, taking to the stage on Saturday 28 June 2014.

Calling Festival has taken the established Hard Rock Calling festival and given it a fresh new twist at a brand new home. The festival, held at London’s Clapham Common, will feature multiple stages with 20 of the hottest acts in rock and pop performing each day, some exciting surprises and amazing on site facilities including an array of food stalls, funfair and much more.
