Air, Mystery Jets, The Temper Trap and more added to Field Day lineup

Field Day are delighted to reveal the new line-up additions that will be joining headliner PJ Harvey, and previously announced artists including Beach House, Daphni, GOAT, John Grant and Thurston Moore Band on Field Day Sunday 12th June.

Field Day are thrilled to welcome Air, the French outfit whose sound has been influenced by the psychedelic and progressive rock pioneers Pink Floyd. With a string of hits under their belt, Air will treat fans to a special set of their classics, demonstrating their seminal signature sound this Field Day Sunday. Air are perhaps best known for their 1998 debut 'Moon Safari' which went platinum in the UK and for a short while seemed to define the musical zeitgeist. They've also composed elegant soundtracks for Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation and The Virgin Suicides

Joining Air will be the hugely successful Australian rock band The Temper Trap. With the band's third album on the horizon, Field Day are extremely excited to welcome them on Sunday 12th June as they showcase their new material at the Festival.

It's been ten years since the recently announced Mystery Jets broke surface with their debut album, 'Making Dens'. What's kept Mystery Jets consistently fascinating over the last decade has been an itchy footed desire to keep trying new things. Given the strength of their new album 'Curve Of The Earth', the next ten years looks set to be as exciting for listeners as the last.

Field Day are also excited to announce New York native sing-songwriter and filmmaker Adam Green. With his new hyper-sensory, poetic and humorously subversive 'Aladdin' project currently making waves, Green will perform new tracks from the album at Field Day this June.

Hair-raising and pulse-quickening, indie punk rockers Fat White Family will also be on board this Field Day Sunday 12th June. Formed in a Peckham squat, the band have now released their second album 'Songs For Our Mothers', hailed as rich and fascinating both lyrically and musically.

Brooklyn-dwelling singer-producer Empress Of will bring her deconstructed R&B rhythms and skittering, minimalist beats to a Field Day stage. Whilst fresh off the back of his new album 'Meet The Humans', Steve Mason swings musically across dance, pop, folk, dub, and deep house influences, remaining lyrically adept and open.

Finnish accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen Skin will also be on board, known for his avant garde and experimental work with his custom-made electrified and modified instrument. Kimmo proudly counted the late David Bowie as one of his fans, who invited the artist to his 2002 Meltdown Festival in London. Finally, Field Day are excited to welcome the astonishing voice, thunderous rhythm and euphoric drone of D.D Dumbo and Italy's Mind Enterprises who will bring his vibrant take on dance to Field Day Sunday.

James Blake to headline Field Day 2016

Field Day are delighted to reveal the new line-up additions that will be joining the likes of Skepta, Four Tet, Deerhunter, Orchestra Baobab, Floating Points, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Gold Panda and Yeasayer on Field Day Saturday 11th June.
Field Day are thrilled to welcome award-winning artist, producer, songwriter, and vocalist James Blake who will be headlining the main stage on Saturday 11th June. James released his groundbreaking and universally acclaimed Mercury nominated eponymous debut album in 2011, and Mercury winning second album Overgrown in 2013, as well as being nominated for a Grammy and multiple BRIT awards. He has toured the world and performed on stages ranging from Glastonbury to the Sydney Opera House to Japan's Fuji Rock Festival. His musical output has seen him collaborate with artists as diverse as Bon Iver, RZA & Brian Eno. James also forms part of the 1-800 DINOSAUR collective, maintaining his underground roots with the label and club night and residency on BBC Radio 1, showcasing forward thinking new talent as well as previewing unreleased material from James himself.

Joining James Blake this Field Day Saturday will be Roots Manuva, an artist who has long been hailed as the leading light in UK hip-hop. Recent album Bleeds released at the end of last year included collaborations with Adrian Sherwood, With You, and young British producer Fred, solidifying Roots Manuva's position amongst the most forward thinking in the business.

Also on board this Field Day Saturday will be Fakear, the brightest star of France's electronic new wave: a young producer whose music sits somewhere on the axis linking Jamie XX, Bonobo and Daft Punk. His globally attuned style combines deep, European house heritage with the sonic textures of the UK and American electronic undergrounds.

Rejjie Snow has been rhyming since he was just a kid in Dublin. After moving to Georgia at 17 on a soccer scholarship, he decided to pursue music instead and dropped his experimental first mixtape, Rejovich. The EP introduced the world to his surreal style and villainous eloquence, quickly amassing over 6.4 million plays, whilst his official video clip for 'All Around the World' starring Lily-Rose Depp has  over 1 million Youtube views.

Field Day are excited to announce Brighton quintet Fickle Friends, who spent most of 2014 whipping the UK blogosphere into a frenzy. Their debut single SWIM amassed nearly a million plays on Soundcloud and quickly propelled the band to the forefront of up and coming British pop acts. Fronted by singer Natassja Shiner, the band's joyous synth-pop gained plays from BBC Introducing, Huw Stephens, Zane Lowe and even Billboard in the US championing the band.

Hailed by The Fader as 'Britain's most recent new hope in hip hop', Loyle Carner, the 20 year old MC from South London has been causing quite a stir following the release of his debut 'A Little Late' EP in September of 2015, he'll be on board this Field Day Saturday along with Danny L Harle, one of the key players in innovative London label PC Music.

Dilly Dally, the four piece band from Toronto was set up by friends Katie Monks and Liz Balls, with a sister-like bond, the pair shared a common love of legendary bands like previous Field Day headliners The Pixies, scrawling lyrics and poetry to mimic their heroes. Nimmo will also play this Field Day Saturday, a unique electronic five-piece whose nocturnal escapism can be traced back to a decade-long friendship. Lives lived in parallel lend their lyrics a confessional air, whilst the blend of unfaltering dance beats, punk roots and euphoric harmonies are the result of intimate, unguarded experimentation.

Field Day also welcomes shoegaze indie poppers Coves, a duo who's diverse sound spans a number of genres, including goth, psychedelica, dreampop, femme fatale rock, and boy-girl indie-garage. Greco-Roman Soundsystem, a collective of musicians, DJs and artists on the Berlin-London axis who throw speakeasy parties and run an eclectic record label will also be playing this Field Day Saturday, in addition to Montreal based underground DJ Champion.

Sleaford Mods, Gold Panda and more added to Field Day 2016 lineup

Field Day Saturday 11th June

Field Day are delighted to reveal the new line-up additions that will be joining the likes of Skepta, Four Tet, Deerhunter, Orchestra Baobab, Floating Points, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Youth Lagoon on the Field Day Saturday 11th June bill.

Field Day are thrilled to welcome Brooklyn based experimental rock band Yeasayer. With their new album Amen & Goodbye set to drop in April, this will be one of the first opportunities to hear the band's superbly odd and fantastic new material live in the UK.

Contemporary Nottingham duo Sleaford Mods will also be joining the Field Day Saturday bill.

Jason Williamson from the band commented on their addition to the Field Day line-up: "We've been wanting to play Field Day for ages, it's a festival that always houses a great deal of interesting new music and not the usual bland array of star employees from big labels. Should be a right laugh!"

Field Day are also excited to announce the post-hardcore sludge-punk trio Metz, hailed as North America's finest touring rock band, their guitars are titanic, drums ill-tempered, vocals chilling and the volume worrisome.

Girl Band, the noise-rock quartet from Dublin have been praised for delivering visceral, invigorating music with nods to Daft Punk and Nick Cave. Their recent album Holding Hands with Jamie was recently included in Time Magazine's 10 Best Albums of 2015 poll.

Also on board for Field Day Saturday will be the impeccable Gold Panda. Hailing from Chelmsford in Essex, Gold Panda started writing beats and producing a few years ago, beginning the journey that ultimately saw him nominated in the BBC's Sound Poll list and the Guardian's prestigious First Album Award for his debut album Lucky Shiner. Since then, he has released a follow-up album, Half Of Where You Live and toured the world to considerable acclaim.

Meanwhile, the Berlin based duo Tale Of Us bring their emotive deep house sound to Field Day. Their popularity and talent was evident when they appeared at #3 in Resident Advisor's 'Top 100 DJ's' poll at the end of 2015. Jackmaster, the Glaswegian DJ and co-founder of the highly successful label and club night Numbers plus previous XOYO resident, will play b2b with the highly respected house and disco DJ Gerd Janson

Belfast-born duo Bicep will be spinning live, bringing their varied, disco, acid house sounds to a Field Day stage. The forward thinking Plastician and Berlin based disco diva The Black Madonna, renowned for her uplifting sets that balance established anthems with idiosyncratic selections, will also be joining the bill.

Elsewhere, Field Day welcomes Little Simz, an artist barely into her 20's who has already become one of the UK's most in-demand acts, changing up the rap game and appearing on the Forbes '30 under 30' list. Hackney based singer songwriter and BBC Music 'Sound Of 2016' pick Nao, whose unique vocal tone draws a fusion of hip hop, soul and R&B to UKG, funk and jazz, plus Kelela, an artist known for her gorgeous off-kilter R&B vocals and chilly metallic production.

Rising stars performing at this year's event include the young and extremely talented singer songwriter Gillbanks and Polydor Records signing Mabel, who will bring her refreshing pop sound to Field Day Saturday.

In addition Wooden Wisdom & DJ Fitz will be responsible for an unforgettable set. Wooden Wisdom are made up of Zach Cowie along with actor and label owner Elijah Wood (from Lord Of The Rings fame!), who'll be spinning classic funk-soul, spaced-out space age instrumentals and 80's-era dance new wave jams. They will be joined by DJ Fitz for a truly electric collaboration.

Field Day Sunday 12th June

After confirming the iconic PJ Harvey, Field Day are thrilled to announce more additions to the Field Day Sunday line up, which so far includes Beach House, John Grant, Molly Nilsson, GOAT, Optimo, Thurston Moore Band and many more.

Field Day Sunday welcomes The Brian Jonestown Massacre, the American neo-psychedelia torchbearers, formed in San Francisco back in 1990. Led by lead singer and guitarist Anton Newcombe, the band's output spans psychedelic rock, folk rock, shoegaze and noise pop. Now onto their fifteenth globe-trotting album, packed with multiple chiming guitars, the band will touch down at Victoria Park on Sunday 12th June.

Also joining Field Day Sunday, will be the african 7-piece band Mbongwana Star from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Their music has been described as a 'clever balance between the sunshine vibes of soukous with the gritty reality of life in a Kinshasa slum'.

Also confirmed are Manchester's rising indie stars and BBC Music 'Sound Of 2016' hot picks Blossoms. Plus New York based rockers Parquet Courts, London's Tangerines as well as the enigmatic American alt folk singer-songwriter Cass McCombs.

Daphni the club-floor, techno drawn alias of Dan Snaith, more commonly known as Caribou will be returning to Victoria Park. London brothers Formation, who's smart liquid funk sound positioned them as one of NME and Time Out London's 'Ones To Watch' for 2016, and grammy-winning, classically trained, writer and producer Tourist will also appear on this years bill.

Finally, Field Day are excited to announce Moon Duo, who will bring their off-kilter dance rhythms, repetitive, grinding riff and cosmic trucker boogies to Field Day Sunday.

Field Day president Tom Baker said on the new additions: "Im really thrilled to be able to announce even more acts for our 10th series of Field Day; Mbongwana Star are coming all the way from Kinshasa and they will blow your mind! We are very happy to welcome back Dan Snaith in his Daphni guise to FD Sunday alongside the seminal and psychedelic brilliance of The Brian Jonestown Massacre… True gents those Sleaford Mods will teach you some manners and Metz will make your ears bleed (in a good way)… There is still more to come we just can't tell you it all now!"

Tune in to the Steve Lamacq show on BBC 6 Music from 4pm GMT on Thursday 21st January for the exclusive first play of PJ Harvey's new single.

First acts announced for Field Day 2016

From its early inception back in 2007, Field Day has evolved across two days, heightened its levels of production, expanded its culinary and extra-curricular activities, yet always remained true to its core values – impeccably curated music at the heart of everything it does is. Continuing this ethos Field Day are honoured to announce PJ Harvey for a London exclusive in 2016 on Sunday the 12th June.

Since her first album Dry – a record Kurt Cobain considered one of the 20 greatest albums ever written – PJ Harvey has received worldwide acclaim for her unique, restless artistic vision. The recipient of multiple awards, she is the only artist to have won the Mercury Music prize twice, first with the platinum selling Stories From The City: Stories From The Sea in 2000, then over a decade on with 2011's Let England Shake.

2015 has found PJ Harvey breaking more new ground, releasing her first volume of poetry and writing and recording her as-yet-untitled 9th studio album in front of live audiences inside an architectural installation at Somerset House.

Awarded an MBE for services to music in 2013, her headline slot will be a Field Day exclusive and be the first UK live, full band show since she played at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011.

FIELD DAY 2016 – Saturday

Elsewhere at their decade celebrations, Field Day Saturday will see long time friend of the festival Four Tet play a key slot on the Eat Your Own Ears Main Stage."One of the UK's most dedicated club DJs, capable of holding a room in sweaty excelsis for eight hours without pause." He's restlessly dedicated his life to creating other-worldly club music, with his timeless productions sounding like they've been beamed from another dimension.

All-conquering grime superstar Skepta graces Victoria Park with his presence as he continues to bring grime kicking and screaming into 2016. A new album imminent with a reportedly all star cast of collaborators, his ascendancy continues at pace. Get set to get Shutdown.

Led by the enigmatic frontman Bradford Fox, Deerhunter bring their gloriously shape-shifting genres and sounds, vacillating from post-punk to pop, auspiciously under the all-encompassing umbrella of indie-rock.

Floating Points has won over crowds around the world with his strictly vinyl club sessions, spanning, house, techno, soul and disco, steadily climbing the ranks of the globes most impressive DJ's. Floating Points will bring his enchanting full band show to Field Day Saturday, for a mesmerising performance filled with warm electro weaves and delicate euphoria.

Mercury Prize nominated and this year's rising star SOAK will also appear on Saturday, along with a further line-up which veers into corners as diverse as Cass McCombs blending rock, folk, psychedelic, punk, and alt country, plus Yorkston Thorne Khan, which encompasses the mighty Scottish folk nobility of James Yorkston.

Founded in 1970, the six piece Senegalese Afro-Cuban, Son, Wolof and Pachanga band Orchestra Baobab, are hailed as one of Africa's great iconic bands, producing more hits in less than a decade than other bands in a lifetime. Elsewhere, Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band will bring their mix of traditional Thai sound with echoes of folk-rock, blues and dub to a Field Day stage.

Renowned for their beautifully blissed out sound, London duo Mount Kimbie come to Field Day on the Saturday and will be joining DJ Koze who was recently selected to mix the 50th edition of !K7's seminal DJ Kicks series. Also up on the Saturday is Motor City Drum Ensemble – a much in demand artist who over the the past few years he's cemented his reputation as one of the top ranking record pioneers making Resident Advisor's Top 20 DJs last year.

One of the biggest names in the German electronic music scene and part of the Robert Johnson family, Roman Flügel is also on Saturday's line-up. A chameleon visiting many styles from ambient to house, techno, electro and leftfield. Special Request, the rugged alias for house and techno stalwart Paul Woolford is inspired by the unruly conventions of UK pirate radio stations, with productions span from murky house through darkside techno to chaotic eye-of-the-storm hardcore/jungle tear-outs. Also joining Saturday's bill will be the dynamic house duo Dusky, who in just three years have asserted themselves as leaders of the UK underground.

Live electronic acts come in the form of Holly Herndon, Kink and Red Axes. Holly Herndon brings her unique blend of glitching, bewitching electronics and choral voices to her sonic performance. Recent album Platform, co-released on 4AD and the peerless RVNG Intl has seen another step forward in her production and gained her further plaudits far and wide.

Hailing from Sofia, Bulgaria, Kink's an enigma in many different forms and will perform one of his much-lauded live sets at Field Day.  Tel-Aviv producers Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi have been performing together for a long time, first as post-punk band Red Cotton. It's with their current Red Axes incarnation that they've struck gold, touching on stripped back slow mo techno.

Ghanaian musician Ata Kak, was the first ever post on The Awesome Tapes from Africa blog which spawned the hugely influential label. Obaa Sima has gone on to transcend genres and appeared in an unbelievable array of DJ's sets since. Ata Kak comes to the UK to play Field Day for what will be his first time out of Ghana. Special.

Performing new live music for the first time, Wild Nothing, the American five piece indie rock/dream pop band from Virginia, will bring their  shimmery, synth-washed indie pop recordings to Field Day Saturday. While Trevor Powers' a.k.a Youth Lagoon, will provide the Festival goers with an insight into his ever mind expanding and varied productions.

Producer, DJ and software developer Avalon Emerson and electronic music producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mura Masa also join for the Saturday, along with Dean Blunt, an artist renowned for consistently delivering compelling and unpredictable performances and the terrifyingly gifted Meilyr Jones.

His third solo studio album, 2015's Grey Tickles, Black Pressure featured several guests such as singers Tracey Thorn of Everything But The Girl and Amanda Palmer. In 2014 John Grant was nominated for Best International Male Solo Artist at the BRITS and appeared on UK TV show, Later with Jools Holland in early October this year, accompanied on stage by a band including several backing singers and special guest Budgie.

Also on Field Day Sunday, Baltimore dream-pop duo and masters of the lullaby, Beach House are known for creating music which is dark, dreamy, and alluringly hypnotic. Since their formation in 2005, Beach House have charmed indie music enthusiasts across the blogosphere with their languid songcraft, and the eerie warmth of "Apple Orchard" landed on Pitchfork's Infinite Mixtape MP3 series in August 2006.

Swedish psych-rockers and master of the on-stage costume, GOAT will bring their unique sound to the main stage. The indie-informed and highly electronic adept Junior Boys, are back with a much lauded new album this year including a synth cover of Bobby Caldwell's 'What You Won't Do For Love'.
