Our own king of the ones & twos Rob da Bank says: “The Port is one of our finest achievements at Bestival, with some pretty stiff competition from all the other inventive constructions that have gone down over the last 12 years. A massive ship seemingly anchored into the grass at Robin Hill complete with smoking funnels, rusty portholes and all topped off with a crazy crew of nautical nutters dancing day and night in laser beam ecstasy.
“I cannot wait to see what Skrillex will pull out the bag for a Sunday finale. Sonny hasn’t been to Bestival for four years so a lot has changed for all of us, and I think The Port is gonna be very special that night. Especially because, as anyone who’s seen Mark Ronson DJ knows, they’re in for a massive treat, too – a sublime Sunday night double-header, even if I do say so myself. I love Annie Mac’s back to back extravaganza – great concept and some amazing talent, and our Friday techno and disco explosion will kick it all off nicely. All aboard for another insane party at The Port!”
Making his return to Bestival, we are absolutely ecstatic to be able to announce the mighty Skrillex will be ramping up the late night action on Sunday. A trail blazer of electronic dance music, he’s a six-time Grammy award winner, and a global icon, so you can guarantee when he drops the magic, it’s gonna go off. Fierce beats and rib-smashing bass ahoy!
He might know a thing or two about ruling the pop charts but Mark Ronson has got fat beats flowing through his veins. A true master with a pair of turntables, his sets are consistently devastating, spanking dancefloors into submission worldwide. Add in a touch of HMS Bestival’s own special magic and you’re on course for some truly euphoric last night shenanigans. Not to be missed.
With Annie Mac taking the reins on Saturday showcasing a series of very special back to back rinses, and Seth Troxler large and in charge on Friday, we really could keep you dancing all weekend long. And we just might, with sets from Four Tet, Tale of Us, Guy Gerber, Jackmaster, David Rodigan MBE, Hannah Wants, Mistajam, Erol Alkan, Andrew Weatherall, Greg Wilson, Toddla T, High Contrast and London Elektricity.
We’ll also have the very welcome return of Croydon’s finest, Benga, plus Special Request, Horse Meat Disco, Monki, Mele, Wookie, Slimzee, Etherwood, Fred V & Grafix, Dynamite MC, The Heatwave, Kiwi, Low Steppa, Logan Sama, Mella Dee and Flava D.
It’s not just a dance stage, it’s a life changing experience. Make sure you get yourself to The Port this September for a blissful summer of love.

This year’s dress-up theme is Pro-Wrestling so it is highly appropriate that additions to the programme this year include the country’s finest independent wrestlers, the mighty PROGRESS Wrestling, and the continuation of the beef between Champion Jimmy Havoc and our very own figurehead, Download Dog.
Other new on-site features include the Dog’s Bed Stage – the fully equipped open mic experience that allows YOU to follow in the footsteps of rocks pantheon by performing at Donnington, a Pop-Up Art Gallery, LASER TAG – no explanation needed, the Hair of the Dog beer and real ale house, heavy metal mask making and circus skills Workshops, KISS face painting (bring your own tongue) and speed dating hosted by Heavy Metal Dating.

If that doesn’t get your motor revving then bear in mind that all of this insane entertainment comes to you in addition to Download favourites, The Doghouse – featuring such iconic rock club nights as Uprawr, Voodoo Rocks, Alpha, Face Down & Ultimate Power, as well as internet sensations and fast food-themedBlack Sabbath covers band Mac Sabbath – the big top Cinema, comedy and silent disco in the Side Splitter, medieval carnage courtesy of Demolition Download, and the instantly iconic Download Totem.

Some of rock’s biggest bands will grace the Zippo Encore stage, and the festival experience continues at the Zippo area where festival-goers can get their hands on the infamous limited edition Download Festival lighter, design their own Zippo lighters and take part in competitions to win side-of-stage experiences.

2015, Northern England’s most cherished festival, Beat-Herder in Lancashire will celebrate their 10th birthday – a landmark anniversary that marks their journey from humble free party origins to an annual three-day 12,000 capacity bonanza with a legion of devout fans. Over the last decade, Beat-Herder has come to be known for its unrivalled attention to detail when building the site. Built entirely from scratch by hand, the festival houses all manner of surprises at every twist and turn. Each year unexpected new areas magically appear for festival-goers to stumble upon. Last year’s new additions included a swimming pool in the woods, housed in a Scandinavian style wooden cabin, complete with changing rooms and lifeguards and The Ring, a huge earth mound with a Stonehenge-esque entrance.

Continuing the strong line up on the main stage as special guests are the legendary James, perhaps best known for anthemic hits such as ‘Sit Down’, ‘She’s A Star’ and ‘Laid’. With all seven band members coming back to reform in 2007, the Manchester band released their 13th studio album La Petite Mort last year to critical acclaim and showed the unique James magic is still firmly in place with engaging powerful songs that demand to be heard live.
One of the best all female pop bands of all time, Bananarama joins the bill for Splendour headlining the Confetti Stage. The band already share history with The Specials lead singer Terry Hall who tracked the girls down to perform with Fun Boy Three, the trio he formed with two other bandmates, for the single 'It Ain't What You Do It's The Way That You Do It'. Will Splendour see the girls join Terry and co on stage?
With 32 Top 40 UK hits, they went on to support everyone from Iggy Pop to Paul Weller. For the next ten years the girls were everywhere and so were their hits, all penned by the girls themselves. As their biography says 'Bananarama were not a manufactured band but three friends who came from the London Club scene with a Punk attitude and were always in control of their own destiny.'
Singer of the moment Jess Glynne, best known for featuring on Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be', which made number one in the UK and can also be heard on the current M&S food advertising campaign, as well as debut single, 'Right Here', will be bringing her distinctive voice to the main stage.

Joining them on the main stage and described as ‘the voice of urban Britain’ by The Times, MOBO award winner, vocalist and rapper Roots Manuva, best known for the hit single ‘Witness The Fitness’, will be bringing his UK hip hop style to Wollaton’s lush fields.
The full main stage line up is The Specials, James, Jess Glynne, Lawson, Roots Manuva, Amber Run and To Kill A King and the day will be opened by the winner of the Future Sound of Nottingham competition.
