RAINBOW DISCO CLUB
A Statement from the Organizer
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

“We have been receiving an incredible amount of messages and support from all over the world after the Rainbow Disco Club 2020 cancellation announcement and are truly grateful for the support.

All of us are facing difficulties everyday now because of the effect of the Coronavirus. We had been busy trying to set up a crowdfunding and/or an alternative event until a few days ago but the situation surrounding the Coronavirus is changing every hour.

Many clubs in Europe and America have been forced to shut and events to be cancelled, and many borders are being closed and all these artists and promoters are suffering from the damage, losing their work opportunities just like us. At the same time, all the dance music fans are losing their places.

But, we must unite and fight against the unknown virus. Now, it is important to keep distance, avoid crowds and prevent the spread. We must limit our social activities and you and your loved ones must act carefully.

We must keep smiling. This is what we have learned in the last 11 years from you.

Hereby we would like to announce that we made the decision to throw a -hour long
streaming party on Saturday 18th April. This will be a first for us, but we will do what we can to replicate the actual festival in Higashi-Izu.

We hope this will be a special day for you during this long isolation time at home. Many fun merchandise items to enjoy the party at home are coming their way, so please look forward to them. Early-bird tickets are also ready in the hope that you will be counting the days with excitement.

We cannot gather at the same place but we look at this project as a campfire. We surround ourselves with music; we dance, talk, eat, smile well, and love a lot – let’s get warm.”

Pyramid Ibiza Announce Huge 2020 Opening Party

The halcyon hedonistic are set to return to Amnesia this summer when Pyramid kicks off its mouthwatering 2020 season on Sunday June 7th. The show-stopping opening party will be headlined by firm favourites and contemporary tastemakers Ricardo Villalobos, Four Tet, Floating Points, Charlotte de Witte, Marcel Dettmann, Cuartero, Luca Donzelli and Bec. Pyramid, then, is all set to redefine Sunday nights at Amnesia all over again this summer.

Last year, Amnesia celebrated the 20th anniversary of its residents and Ricardo Villalobos, Paco Osuna and Mar-T and enjoyed great collabs with other brands and labels like Epizode, Diynamic, Mdrnty Sunwave Fest, plus there were two incredible sold-out parties at Cova Santa together with Who Cares. This season, Pyramid Ibiza is ready to take you on a journey to another dimension, where you will find yourself dancing to the best techno music in the depths of the forest. An atmosphere that is difficult to explain, an energy that must be experienced to be understood. Also this season, Pyramid Ibiza celebrates its third consecutive year at the world famous club having quickly become a real favourite with those who love serious underground vibes. From Sunday June 7th to September 27th, the party will position itself as one where all that matters is music, the party, the people and dancing until the early hours.

Entering the awe-inspiring Amnesia will be like travelling to another dimension this summer as Pyramid’s unique production and decor has been thought through to the last detail: each event brims with creativity and organic materials, the latest technology, a very special 3D lighting setup and lush green tones that immerse you in wild forests and Asian pyramids. For the opening party, the world famous Terraza will be headlined by the one and only icon and Amnesia favourite Ricardo Villalobos, who brings his minimal techno excellence next to the always innovative electronic master and Text label boss Four Tet. For a mix of all forms of house, techno and everything in between, Melodies International boss and NTS Radio mainstay Floating Points is the main man. On top of that, one of Spain’s biggest house sensations, DJ Award winner and Hot Creations and Moon Harbour associate Cuartero also brings the slick grooves that have made him such a favourite.

Into the Techno Room and Belgium’s leading lady Charlotte de Witte brings the darkness, Berghain’s long time resident Marcel Dettmann brings plenty of varied techno sounds and Moon Harbour and Origins Rcds associate Luca Donzelli also line up.

This summer, Pyramid invites you to dance, share, feel and live the type of party that takes you into another dimension, and it all kicks off in style on Sunday June 7th.

Gorilla Unveils Spring Series of events with Gilles Peterson, Todd Terje and more

This April, Gorilla Manchester comes under new ownership, makes some big improvements to light and sound, and unveils special parties with Gilles Peterson, Todd Terje, Joey Negro and Cristoph.

After building up a fantastic reputation and serving up some iconic parties over the last eight years in its most recent incarnation, Gorilla has been taken on by new ownership. The unique vibe and forward thinking line-ups will remain the same, but a brand new sound system is to be installed along with a new lighting rig that is from the cutting edge of available technology, with a huge LED screen also being added to ensure that all senses are simulated throughout each and every party.

The cult underground space is nestled between arches under Oxford Road Train Station and immerses you in a mix of exciting local talents and international talents, with hazers, smoke machines and much more all adding to the occasion. Local icons The Warehouse Project are regular collaborators who appreciate Gorilla’s big room but intimate feel, while fellow local promoters Kaluki started at Gorilla and have now gone on to make a global mark.

The first of this spring’s parties is April 4th with the one and only musical encyclopaedia that is Gilles Peterson. The Brownswood boss, Worldwide FM radio founder and 6Music hosts will dig deep into his eclectic bag of jazz, funk, soul, house and hip hop for four hours so expect a real showcase.

On April 18th nordic disco legend Todd Terje plays a three hour set that will see him serve up all manner of colourful arps, dazzling synths and chugging drums of the highest order. Aficionado’s Moonboots is one of the most high class diggers out there so expect a balearic masterclass when he steps up.

On April 24th, house and disco don Joey Negro brings decades of knowledge when he plays from Open to Close. His Z Records is a bastion of high quality house and disco with an authentic edge but also plenty of future facing grooves. What he doesn’t know isn’t worth knowing and when he gets to play for so long he really serves up the history in fine style.

On April 25th, Geordie kingpin Christoph comes to play all night long. The Bedrock and Knee Deep in Sound artist, Eric Prydz collaborator and progressive house titan has risen to the top of the pile with his emotive, synth laden sounds in recent years so to have him play an extended set will really allow you a look into his deepest musical soul.

This is another fantastic run of events for Gorilla, which continues to lead from the front in 2020.

Family Piknik Drops Full Lineup For 2020’s 2-Day Festival

Open-air French techno gathering Family Piknik completes its full line up for Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of July in Montpellier, France. Playing across three stages, including one secret stage, will be the likes of Charlotte De Witte, Dixon, Artbat, Erol Alkan, Adam Beyer, Mind Against b2b Recondite, Popof b2b Oxia, Fisher, Worakls Orchestra and Monolink both live, Riva Starr, Detlef, Rex Axes live and many more.

The first phase of tickets are already sold out for this iconic festival. The ninth edition is another open-air extravaganza with special lighting, world class sounds systems and all sorts of extra food, drink and entertainment to make this the ultimate techno-fest. The big news is that all of the stages will be open from noon to midnight meaning that the usual Sunday pleasures turns into a full weekend extravaganza this year.

Created as a totally unique concept in France, open to all generations, Family Piknik has managed to be the most friendly open-air event around electronic music, gathering festival ravers from more than 30 countries. People can bring their own pique-nique to enjoy the green park of Grammont and chill in between two dance steps in front of the most talented international artists. Ecology will be one of the main focus points of 2020, with a no-plastic policy to be applied for the first time, though innovative actions yet to be announced.

Say the festival owner Tom Pooks, “2020 will be a serious transition for us as it will be the first time we are open on two full days, so it’s never been more exciting for us. Last year, we had the honour of welcoming many living legends, many from the first leading generation pioneering electronic music, from Sasha to Carl Cox through Sven Väth, Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Josh Wink… So for this year, we’ve decided to open our stages mostly to the new generation, like Charlotte de Witte, Artbat, Fisher going through a bunch of other new talents combined with more established names (Adam Beyer, Dixon, Erol Alkan, Riva Starr..) and exclusive performances like this never seen B2B between Mind Against & Recondite. As always, our line-up tends to represent the one and only big electronic family, from micro-house to peak time techno through all these house sub-genres. Our challenge is to be a friendly gathering for all kind of electronic communities, sharing the same love and passion for music under the trees, during a whole week-end of pure madness in the sunny south of France.”

On Saturday, Stage 1 is a fully 100% live show showcase, while Stage 2 is all about  tech and jacking house and the third and final secret stage is where to hear ethno, deep and micro house. Sunday, day two, sees Stage 1 offer up the best techno in the world, Stage 2 goes deeper with more melodic and progressive house, and the secret stage deals in ethno, deep and hybrid house.

Saturday features Fisher, Popof B2B Oxia, Dennis Cruz, Super Flu, Riva Starr, Detlef, Cioz B2B Sam Shure, Quenum, Pontias B2B Theus Mago, Time, Ki Yera, Mood Gorning B2B Albanø andWorakls Orchestra (Live), Monolink (Live), Giorgia Angiuli (Live), Wehbba (Live Station), Red Axes (Live), Gheist (Live Hybrid), Ruede Hagelstein (Live) and The Dualz (Live).

Sunday is all about the likes of Charlotte De Witte, Adam Beyer, Mind Against B2B Recondite, Dixon, Artbat, Adana Twins, Mathame, Denis Horvart, Erol Alkan, Tom Pooks B2B Joy Kitikonti, Sébastien Léger, Monkey Safari, Mandana, Abstraal, Frankyeffe, Timmo and Blanc.

For the 3rd year in a row, Family Piknik will tease its 2020 main event with several tour dates across France between March and June (Lyon, Toulouse, Paris…), including its famous Boarding to Family Piknik event taking place in Montpellier airport on June 6th. This event is also not to miss because you can dance next to the planes, with artists like Sven Väth on board.

The scene is now set for the most famous festival in France to grow, expand and improve once more in 2020 as it raises the bar for music lovers once more.

Early Bird Tickets are on sale till March 26th, from 45€ (1 day) to 70€ (2 days). http://www.familypiknikfestival.com

Les Plages Électroniques reveals first names for 15th anniversary with The Chainsmokers, Paul Kalkbrenner, Kaytranada, Stephan Bodzin, Boombass/Cassius, Guy Gerber, Artbat, Boys Noize, Sam Paganini and more

Now firmly on the list of major festivals not to be missed, The Festival Les Plages Electroniques will be celebrating its 15th anniversary from August 7th to 9th 2020, and has an array of surprises and novelties to be announced very soon. The first wave of acts includes The Chainsmokers (exclusive – their only French festival appearance in 2020), Paul Kalkbrenner, Kaytranada, Stephan Bodzin, Boombass/Cassius, Guy Gerber, Folamour, Mathame, Artbat, Boys Noize, Meduza, Sam Paganini and more.
The many festival-goers from all over the world who attend the three day event  will be delighted to dance non-stop on the most beautiful beach of La Croisette, on the roof of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, and sink their feet in the water at the Red Bull Enigma party on Sunday, as well as get down at the after party in the Rotonde Riviera until early morning.
The Festival Village opens from 2:00 p.m. and always pays special attention to the comfort of the public with a beauty corner, many fun stands, chill out in the gardens of Square Reynaldo Hahn, catering offer for all tastes (burgers, vegan, pancakes, Italian ice cream, sweet, salty) in collaboration with local food trucks, and much more.
The first open water party in 2017 on the Palais des Festivals beach was a resounding success. It is an event within the event with a stage set up on the water and hundreds of giant buoys distributed for the delight of festival-goers. 2020 will repeat more of the same on Sunday from 2.30 p.m.
The afterparties are always a great success. The Rotunda of the Palais des Festivals, which is used to hosting congresses throughout the year, will once again be transformed into an ephemeral club, an indoor dance floor with a capacity of 5,000 people with an original concept and scripting concocted by a collective of local artists, so festival-goers can extend the party until 5 a.m.
Live the backstage VIP experience: Festival-goers can access the premium spaces with a view of the main action and get skip-the-line entrance, a personalized welcome with a hostess, a dedicated bar with paid food service, in short making it a special way to experience the festival differently.
Les Plages Électroniques will offer more than 60 artists from around the world across the three days with a line up oscillating between Electro Dance Music (EDM), House, Pop Electro, Techno and urban cultures. All catering to the 40000 strong crowd.
THE HEADLINERS
The Chainsmokers (France Festival Exclusive)
The Chainsmokers are a pop act consisting of two DJs named Drew Taggart (born December 31, 1989) and Alex Pall (born May 16, 1985). They first hit the charts with the novelty song “#Selfie.” Two years later, in 2016, they soared to the top of the charts with “Closer,” one of the biggest pop hit singles of all time.
Paul Kalkbrenner
Berlin’s Paul Kalkbrenner is a unique international talent. In fact, with seven studio albums and more than 2.4 million Facebook fans, he is one of techno’s biggest superstars! Paul Kalkbrenner’s demanding compositions are full of energy; they exist to take listeners away from the everyday, from the weekly grind, into rapture—into art, ecstasy, absurdity friendship, hope and love.
Kaytranada
Born in Haiti and raised in the city of Montreal, Canadian artist Kaytranada has experienced an explosive rise in the past couple of years with his irresistible production and live sets, but the hard work and success did not happen overnight. Before touring the globe and amassing millions of hits online with his series of beloved tracks and mixes, the young man came up as a true disciple, absorbing hip hop and RnB culture since his childhood and finding ways to make the music his own.
Stephan Bodzin
Stephan Bodzin has been a hugely influential figure within the global techno scene for years. The reason the German has endured where many had fallen by the wayside is because of his devotion to authenticity. “Without it, everything would appear to be nothing more than a hollow shell,” says the son of an experimental musician who is now a revered talent in his own right.

With previous events garnering International Attention – one particular piece entitled “Ven a la Luz” by Daniel Popper went viral in 2018 and instantly made AWM an International Sensation. Through enabling the power of art, Graziano and the rest of the AWM staff aim to “use art as a lens for which to view all aspects of environmental issues facing our planet today.” With one of the festival pillars “Care with Me” – the event will raise funds for Environmental Protections in the region, educate both locals and foreigners about “Ethical Tourism” as well as inspire local businesses to take part in cultural initiatives such as beach clean ups, sanctuary sites & similar environmental programs.

NOTES TO EDITOR:
Art With Me I GNP Presented by TANE is a 5-Day & Night International Arts, Music and Cultural Festival whose goal is to inspire us to be more connected to ourselves and build awareness about the environmental issues that affect us locally and globally. It is a community-driven festival that curates art, workshops & talks, music, wellness and cultural experiences and is building a platform to inspire change and foster awareness amongst attendees.
Founded in 2018 by David Graziano and Jorge Mondragon with a vision of how they could help Tulum by building a festival that would build consciousness about the sustainability necessary to protect the fragility of the region. David lives in Tulum full time and Jorge part time and both wanted to work with local businesses and people and tourists to bring awareness about waste management, noise pollution and black waters through building a festival that did not add to these problems but tried to help solve them. The numerous initiatives of Care with Me are at the heart of everything that happens during the festival and during the whole year.

On Mala’s curated stage in attendance are Silkie, Coki, Goth Trad, Sicaria Sound with Killa P, Crazy D & Sun of Selah on the mic all bringing the signature sound back to Croatia with plenty of hard hitting and deep bass styles. Further high profile stage takeovers have been added and include Pinch’s Tectonic label celebrating 15 years (with Walton being a late and great addition ahead of his new release on the label) and Rinse FM who join forces with 6 Figure Gang for a takeover of their own that is sure to get rowdy. Elsewhere excitement is building for Deadbeat + Tikiman who will present a special live dub show, while New Zealand duo Truth return for big things in 2020. The Heatwave add some of their own much loved and hugely characteristic bounce and 1xtra’s Jamz Supernova joins the bill, while there will be more drum & bass from Technimatic, SCAR, Artificial Intelligence and J Majik.

A key part of this year’s event will be the Barbarella’s After Parties, which are available via a separate ticket on sale now as individual days, as well as part of a festival package deal and full pass. Each of these special events is powered by the peerless Sinai Sound System and will feature the likes of Dispatch and Sofa Sound going head to head for a takeover. London’s Abode in the Park Announces 1st headliners and move to the Olympic Park

The globally acclaimed ABODE team continues to step things up across the board and have plenty of bold plans for 2020. Chief amongst them is the always sold out annual festival ABODE in the Park, which this year takes place on August Bank Holiday weekend at the Olympic Park in East London, and the first headliners announced are Marco Carola and Solardo, with tickets on sale now at www.abodeinthepark.com. Aside from that, there are also mouth-watering parties to look forward to at London’s iconic Tobacco Dock, special Ibiza weekenders, ABODE on the Rock in Malta, and fast growing new events in the United States and Mexico this spring.

ABODE started as an underground house party in London and very quickly struck up an adoring relationship with all who attended. The music focussed, keen to dance crowd appreciated ABODE’s edgy, forward thinking line-ups and no frills party, and so the brand has grown at an alarming rate. All their various parties round the world from Dubai to Ibiza to France sell out in quick time as ABODE continues to diversify and cater to the next generation.
Anyone who has been to the essential one day festival ABODE in the Park knows what a complete and fulsome experience it is. And if you haven’t, you’re missing out on multiple stages and a VIP arena that are all dedicated to the finest and freshest house and techno sounds. This year it moves to the famous 560 acre Queen Elizabeth Olympic park, with breathtaking views of London, the world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide and the UK’s highest freefall abseil, with all the world class sound and production you would expect of ABODE. The first of many headliners are Sola label bosses turned house kingpins Solardo, and Italian techno icon and Music On boss Marco Carola.

At the heart of each ABODE party—whether that’s in a UK club, festivals in the sun or in the snow —are the night’s residents. These are Ellie Cocks and George Harrison who have now got a reputation on the European stage thanks to heavy support from Radio 1 and Mixmag, with George having recently been signed by leading booking agency NGE.
They will play the ABODE Easter Saturday special on April 11th at Tobacco Dock, which is always one of the flagship events in the year and in 2020 is headlined by huge names including Dubfire, Guti, Joey Daniel and breakout emotive house stars Meduza. KiNK Presents Soundcheck, E1, May 9th 2020

On May 9th a new party concept from KiNK launches at London’s E1. KiNK Presents Soundcheck.
An event where there is no one defining genre, where we embrace the various creative outlets of the artists on show and new exciting musical projects are given their chance to shine.
For the first time ever in one evening, KiNK will perform his notorious Live show that earned him the top spot in the final two editions of the RA Live polls, and then go on to perform a drum & bass DJ set in E1’s Dark Studio.

Whilst many know KiNK for his incredible showmanship, playful house & techno productions (epitomised best by his “Playground” LP on Gerd Janson’s Running Back in 2017), and his warm nature and popularity, what they may not know is that he has a deep love of drum & bass.
KiNK’s earliest exposure to dance music was through pirated cassette tapes that he used to buy on the streets of Sofia, Bulgaria in the 90’s. Future Sound of London and Shy FX were some of his favourites and he spent hour upon hour listening to the signature drum and bass sound that was coming out of London in the 90’s.
Anyone who’s seen KiNK’s Live show or his RA Alternate Cuts Jungle set, will know just how special this is going to be.
Joining KiNK, is another one of the dance music’s greatest figures. There are few names in the music industry that have had such a profound impact on the culture of dance music as Goldie. Founder of the legendary drum & bass outfit Metalheadz, being awarded an MBE, an actor in the Jame Bond film The World is Not Enough and Guy Ritchie’s classic ‘Snatch’, a highly regarded graffiti artist and producer of the boundary pushing Inner City Life and Timeless. His contributions to creative culture are unparalleled.

As a DJ, he’s at his best when he has time to tell his story. So he’ll be playing at Extended DJ set in the Dark Studio with MC GQ.
In E1’s Warehouse we’re thrilled to have Goldie present his newest creative project “Subjective” in partnership with James Davidson (one half of Ulterior Motive). Subjective’s debut album “Act One – Music for Inanimate Objects’ featured African rhythms, ambient Jazz, vocals from the likes of Natalie Duncan, Tyler Daley and Terri Walker. Even contributions from Jon Dixon of Detroit techno legends Underground Resistance.
Headlining support in the Warehouse is one of the most masterful disc jockeys we know. Detroit legend DJ Bone. A DJ’s DJ who earned his respect within the scene, as a DJ first and foremost, whist many others have gone down the production route. Blending, scratching, back spinning, no monitors or headphones; unrivalled in his use of the fader switch, you name it he does it and he incorporates it all into every set.
His dedication to the art of dance music and DJ’ing is so untainted and intense that the tales of his confrontational encounters with flashy booking agents and “big name” djs are already the stuff of legend. No hype or trends, just a relentless drive and passion to take the party to another level. That’s why he’s one of the few spin masters other DJs hate to follow.
The line-up doesn’t stop there though. Playing in the bass orientated Dark Studio is an artist who through his time as Om Unit, has always drawn from various influences that include hip-hop, dubstep, ambient, jungle, footwork, techno and more. In the late 2000s, Om Unit began to travel across genres and scenes in search of sonic tropes to cross-breed and re-imagine. Key to his approach has always been a desire to never settle for the destination and instead focus on what can be learnt from the journey.
In 2011, Om Unit set up Cosmic Bridge Records – his own label through which he has exercised an A&R sensibility that has created an exciting independent home for like minded artists. In 2014 he signed to Goldie’s Metalheadz, where he was given access to Goldie’s personal sample archive as the inspiration for his Inversion album.
Another special guest will be announced shortly. All we can say for now is that she’s one of the most exciting producers to break through the UK dance scene right now.
Straight off the back of his Phonox debut alongside key players from the Innervisions roster and opening set for Sasha at E1, their resident DJ Nick Castle also joins the bill.
Curated by KiNK, produced by Labyrinth. See you on May 9th…
