MiNT Festival to relocate to a 136-acre permanent site at Newsam Green, 10 minutes from Leeds City Centre £5 Million investment creating a purpose-built festival site.
The one-day event returns on 25th September 2021, with tickets almost sold out.
MiNT Festival, now in its 10th year has finally come home to roost in their new 136-acre location, at Newsam Green Farm, bought by the team itself in a £5 million pound investment. The stunning Farm is situated just outside Leeds city centre and offers a naturalistic setting with barns, forests and orchards all set to provide the back drop to a world class line up that will be announced soon.
With over 20 years experience, the team behind the iconic MiNT brand, including The MiNT Club and MiNT Warehouse, have hosted some of the UK’s high-profile parties and festivals. MiNT Festival is one of the UKs most reputable electronic music festivals and over the years they’ve attracted an enviable line-up to Leeds that spans across the genres.
Previous events have historically been staged at a range of venues including Wetherby Racecourse, Tetley Brewery, Stockeld Park and more recently The RAF base & Leeds East Airport in Church Fenton. However, the new site, established at Newsam Green Farm, will now offer a permanent base becoming Yorkshire first ever dedicated Festival sites.
Founder, Shane Graham said:
“We have taken MiNT Festival all over Leeds, Wetherby and as far as Lincoln showground in search for a home that provided an atmosphere the attendees deserve. We have been looking for a permanent site for the last 3 years and have finally found the location that ticks all the boxes. We are extremely happy to have acquired the Farm; not only is it 10 minutes out of the city centre, but it also boasts acres of greenery, woodland and amazing views that make the perfect background for a Music Festival. Now that we have a permanent home, we can channel our energies into developing the amazing features and make sure Leeds is home to one of the best festival sites in the UK!”
Newsam Green Farm is fantastically accessible with a convenient location in LS15 near Temple Newsam, just off junction 45 on the M1 and 10 minutes from the city centre. Originally an open coal mine and then a livestock farm, it extends over 136 acres and comprises a farmhouse, a range of agricultural buildings, 123 acres of grassland and acres of woodland plus the added bonus of unique Leeds City centre views!
The promoters are investing £5 million into the project to transform the site into the ultimate festival site with the aim to maintain existing elements wherever possible, Baz Arjomand Co Owner added:
“Our long-term vison for the farm is to continue to develop the concept whist trying to maintain as many of the original natural features on the site as possible. The bricked garden orchard will be home to one of the arenas and we plan to incorporate some of the outbuildings into our VIP and food villages. By purchasing our own venue, it allows us to invest in the long-term infra-structure, providing purpose-built arenas with incomparable sound quality – something that the MINT brand prides it’s self on”.
After a year off due to COVID-19 MiNT Festival will return on 25th September 2021, promising to take things to an even higher level with its biggest and best line-up to date. Festival-goers can expect an all-day party with the usual top-tier acts followed by the festivals legendary after parties.
Baz continued “Due to COVID 19 last year’s event was postponed and all existing tickets were transferred to this year’s event. As soon as the Roadmap was revealed demand for tickets went through the roof, and we sold 6 months of tickets in less than 48 hours! The appetite for the event has been phenomenal! We have been working extremely closely with the safety advisory officers at Leeds City Council and the event has been granted a license for up to 15,000. With only a couple of thousand tickets remaining once we announce the artist line-up, we expect to sell-out”
The all-day festival, spanning over several arenas promises to feature curated, world renowned DJs and artists from across the electronic music spectrum. Recent MiNT Festival line-ups have featured the likes of Craig David, Skepta, Marco Corola, MK to name but a few. This year’s line-up which will be announced in the coming weeks is expected to be the best yet.
