The newly expanded two day event offers even more chances to get immersed in those unforgettable old school sounds and good time grooves . It goes down at Towneley Park, the largest park in Burnley with 180 hectares of lush green rolling fields that will become a real party haven.
Each stage at the festival will have its own look and feel, with cutting edge production, punchy sound and immersive lights all bring each one to life in a unique way. On both days, the most authentic old school brands in the scene will host their own stage.
90s Baby takes you back to that golden era like no other, with a wide range of the decade’s biggest live acts, all reunited for an unmissable event that will transport you back to your youth. Across the weekend the likes of Lange, 4 strings, Phats & Small, Baby D, N-Trance, Allison Limerick and a huge guest to be announced will all play.
Millennium Classics Dome is an event series dedicated to the sleek house sounds of the 2000s right up to the present day with all the biggest hitters lined up. You can expect scintillating sounds from Soul Avengerz, Trimtone, Ben OC, Paul & Ben Taylor (Back 2 Back 3 hour set) and more across both days.
Retro is the cult and long running party helmed by Paul Taylor. It’s a cultured celebration of all things house from across the ages with plenty of classics and favourites from stars of the scene. Faithless Remix Theme Tune From The Crown To Mark Seasons 5’s Iconic 90s Era

Season 5 of The Crown returned to Netflix earlier this month with an incredible new cast including Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Dominic West as Prince Charles and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana. This season signals a new era for the Royal Family, as they enter the 90’s and follow the events that unfolded within the period of 1991 – 1997. To mark the relevance of this culturally defining era, The Crown has partnered with 90’s powerhouse Faithless to remix Hans Zimmer’s iconic theme tune. To accompany the track, video producer Alice Isaac creates an accompanying music video featuring iconic 90s imagery in her signature style of collage and animation. 
 
The 90s signified a huge turning point for sentiments surrounding the Royal Family. From scandal to defiance, the 90s were iconic, carrying a rebel spirit with Princess Diana as its leading lady. At the same time, the hypnotic beats and hedonistic culture of electronic music had burst into the scene, injecting a level of abandon and intensity across the country. From warehouses to abandoned factories, car parks and airfields, the counter cultural energy was spreading just as fast as the scandals that surrounded the story of the Royals. 
 
It’s impossible to ignore some of the similarities we’re going through in the country right now, particularly in regards to the questioning of long established leadership and power, the integral role the media has come to play in this and the influence this has on the perceived counterculture. When authority is weakened, we see a rise in anti-establishment views that are expressed through new voices, movements and art forms that have previously been held down. 
 
The 90s were revolutionary across the board – whether royal or rebel. So who better to enlist to soundtrack “The Nasty 90s” than the pioneers that were often central to the sound of this revolutionary time. Enter Faithless. Pioneers of the scene. 
 

Faithless’ Sister Bliss commented: 

“I could hear in my head how this mix could work around Hans Zimmer’s iconic and dramatic strings. I dug around in the vaults and found lots of sounds and samples we actually saved from the 1990s when we were making our albums. I thought “these are genuinely good”, so I loaded them up for this remix of Hans Zimmer’s score.”  

 

“We wanted this to be unapologetically Faithless and use some of the very original sounds that myself and Rollo made together.”

Friday welcomes Nervo, Claptone, Cedric Gervais, Timmy Trumpet, AfroJack and R3HAB and Saturday finds Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Steve Aoki, Lost Frequencies, Morten, Acraze and more. 
 
The Underground stage is divided into four different sub stages with the most clued up house and techno from Cirez D, Artbat, Carl Cox b2b Nic Fanciulli, Carl Cox solo, Sven Väth, Jamie Jones b2b Seth Troxler, Butch, Polo & Pan, Thomas Melchior and more on Thursday. On Friday, Adam Beyer, Maceo Plex, Anna, Loco Dice, Cassy, Hot Since 82, Damian Lazarus, Fred P, Janet and more will line up and on Saturday Luciano, Solomun, La Fleur, Ricardo Villalobos, Solardo, James Hype, Art Department, Chris Lake and more bring the quality.  
 
Finally, Down Beast is for indie, hip‑hop, R&B and LoFi from the likes of Jorja Smith, Rae Sremmurd, Naika and Saudi singer Mishaal Tamer across the three days. 
 
On top of these big names, the festival will feature some top local talents and a strong Saudi female lineup with Biirdperson, Cosmicat, Dorar, Kayan, and Solskin hitting the decks along with Dish Dash, Vinylmode and DJ Aseel, plus some extra special guests Mohamed Hamaki and Nancy Ajram will be taking to the stage with other acts for special collaborations.

The influence of reggae and all things Caribbean and African on the UK’s sound system culture is undeniable. It has helped enrich the music scene for over 50 years and all of that is reflected at City Splash Festival. It is a carefully curated and all encompassing reggae, dancehall and afrobeats, food, and culture festival in London. This edition takes over Brockwell Park, a lush rolling green space with ornamental ponds, formal flower beds and a wall garden, lakes and plenty of sloping grounds to explore and relax in.

For this one day special it becomes a haven of authentic Caribbean and African culture with 60+ black-owned food traders delivered in partnership with Blk Eats LDN, plenty of authentic rum, and a creatives market as well as a wealth of engaging talks, panels and workshops by charity partners, site art to bring the park to life and a London Brewers Market featuring breweries from all over the capital with a focus on South London.

Leading the way with his first UK performance in five years is Jamaican reggae star Chronixx who is credited with igniting the reggae revival with his impassioned sounds. His lyrical content revolves around themes of anti-war, romantic declarations and resiliency and since his Chronology album topped the charts in 2017 he has been at the top of his game.

Then comes Reggae singer Koffee who has been nominated for a 2023 Grammy for Best Reggae Album, plus Interscope’s recently Mobo-nominated Shenseea, a Jamaican dancehall queen who has appeared on songs by the likes of Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul and Christina Aguilera, and Jamaica’s Skillibeng, also fresh off a MOBO nomination and a guest appearance at Drake’s birthday bash in Miami and feature with Busta Rhymes and Wizkid.

More huge names include Nigerian afro beats, r&b and soul sensation Ayra Starr, Ghanaian r&b and Afro-fusion singer Gyakie, British-Jamaican dancehall pioneer Stylo G and the multi-disciplinary producer, poet, yogi and cultural curator Jah9.

On top of this the respected Dubwise Jamaica platform mixes up traditional, contemporary, and emerging reggae sounds from Jamaica, and Rampage, one of the UK’s most renowned Sound Systems, play with the likes of Izzy Bossy, Saxon Sound, and 1Extra Reggae & Dancehall show host Seani B, plus Ras Kwame who hosts the Reggae Recipe show on Capital Xtr also lining up.

Partners Rampage Sound, Bossy LDN and Channel One Soundsystem all bring their know-how to the line-up which as ever is deep and broad. The legendary dub crew Channel One bring all their heaviest plates, and northern powerhouses Iration Steppas are masters of dub and roots who pump any party. Mercedes Benson heads things up and is a multifaceted creative and genuine Afrobeat Lover. Dankie Sounds will also be doing a takeover and 2x Red Bull Culture Clash Winner Sir DJ Corey will be on hand to amp up the crowd.

Matador, Meduza, and Artche join forces for new single «Just A Feeling» on RUKUS

Matador is one of techno’s most prolific and assured artists, producing everything from stripped back minimal to powerful main room sounds. For this one he works with Italian outfit Meduza, who have been behind some of the biggest house records and most sultry tunes of the last few years such as their global hit “Piece of Your Heart”, and have signed to Defected, Anjunadeep and Virgin amongst others across the spectrum of dance music. The last piece of the puzzle for this one is Artche from Newcastle in the UK. His music brings real freshness to house and techno thanks to his own dark vocal style and has come on labels like Pryda Presents and Bedrock amongst others. Now, all three of these artists impress once more.

Just A Feeling is an emotive and deep techno cut with standout synth craft. The mid-tempo drums are heavy and set a moody late night vibe as sweeping synths reach up to the stars and a whispered vocal brings epic emotion. This tune will make a spine-tingling impact on all who hear it. An instrumental and acapella are also included, but the original with the vocal is sure to become anthemic.

London based Henri Bergmann’s brand new compilation for Renaissance lands at Apple Music

Henri Bergmann’s trajectory in 2022 has been nothing short of stratospheric; whether remixing for, or by, Echonomist, Mia Mendi, Johnathan Kaspar, Dee Montero and Murat Uncuoglu (to name but a few); collaborating with Biesmans or touring the globe, she’s swiftly moved to the apex of dance music’s creative illuminati.

Now she delivers her first mixed compilation for Renaissance, a clubbing bastion who are synonymous with the format. “It’s a pleasure and honour to take on this mix for Renaissance,” she says, “They know a thing or two about what makes a comp’ work in this style and genre so the pressure was on to deliver. The mix is an eloquent snapshot of recent favourites, current and future bombs and, of course, a few of my own productions for good measure!”

True to her word, Henri kicks the mix off with her gorgeous rework of Dee Montero’s ‘Solena’ and then proceeds to swiftly shift through the gears over the course of the next hour. Along the way she features Adriatique, Denis Horvat, WhoMadeWho, Toto Chiavetta, Final Request and more; even her very latest single, the Tale Of Us championed ‘Simulacrum’ is woven into the deft soundscape. “It’s always a challenge and self-debate over what, and what not to include, but overall, I had real fun putting it together.
