Green Man is delighted to welcome post-rock pioneers Slint, Doves frontman Jimi Goodwin, Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor and The Pictish Trail to our incredible 2014 line-up!
We are thrilled to have Slint headline Far Out on Saturday night, almost 25 years on from seminal album Spiderland – it’s going to be intense. We’re also chuffed to welcome back Jimi Goodwin playing on the Thursday night and can't wait to have Green Man regular The Pictish Trail aka Johnny Lych to open the festival with The Waterboys.
NEWLY CONFIRMED FOR GREEN MAN 2014!
Slint split shortly before their 1991 album Spiderland and practically invented post-rock. Members went on to play in Tortoise, the Breeders, Interpol and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Jimi Goodwin is the singer and bassist in Doves. He has collaborated with Lamb, Cherry Ghost, Mark Lanegan and Elbow, and released debut solo album Odulek in March.
Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip released new album Await Barbarians last week – it presents a more reflective side to his writing, placing his unique vocals up front in the mix.
The Pictish Trail (aka Green Man regular Johnny Lynch) writes warm and welcoming tales using tiny keyboard patterns, acoustic neo-folk rumblings and oddball noises.
Jupiter-C make brooding, minimalist pop odes to the more nightmarish aspects of modernity, combining electronics, distorted guitars and melodic vocals.
We are proud to announce the first artists for the Green Man Rising Stage…
