Eastern Electrics Festival reveal acts for 2015 lineup

The UK’s premier underground music event Eastern Electrics Festival is proud to reveal the first phase of headliners for 2015 along with all 8 stages that make up this epic day of electronic music and sunshine revelry. In the coming months, each stage will reveal their own specially curated line-ups in full, showcasing a selection of artists more stellar and eclectic than ever before. Bringing over 50 DJs and live acts to the majestic grounds of Hatfield House plus all the usual glittery high jinks, Eastern Electrics Festival is once again the most unmissable date in the UK festival calendar for the most adventurous and mischievous of house and techno lovers.

On 1st August, 2015 a sizeable chunk of house & techno’s elite will descend on Hatfield House in Hertfordshire for a hedonist day of playtime, music and dancing. As always the festival will have its own branded stage Eastern Electrics providing a focal point for the day and serving up some of the finest selectors on the global circuit.Headlining that stage this year is none other than UK homegrown superstar Jamie Jones, a regular fixture in the illustrious warehouse days of Eastern Electrics and one of the highlights of EE Festival 2012. Jamie Jones, under his varying guises of DJ, producer and label owner is a relentless talent and quite rightly one of the most successful and omnipresent artists in the business. One quarter of Hot Natured and head of the Hot Creations imprint as well as off-shoots Hot Trax and now new sister label Emerald City, Jamie Jones is the pioneering force for funk laced dance music. Joining him on the main stage is Argentinian techno artist Guti, bringing his all conquering live show to the proceedings. A fusion of techno, jazz and his latin roots, the classically trained Guti and Desolat favourite is sure to captivate the crowd.
Skreamism will be taking over the Big Top stage, showcasing a line-up of epic proportions starting with Floorplan (aka Detroit techno god Robert Hood), Hot Creations affiliate Richy Ahmed and of course, Croydon dubstep pioneer Skream, who having embarked on a love affair with house and disco is hotting up those circles with a new album in the pipeline for Crosstown Rebels and some dedicated DJ sets. Over at the Switchyard, everyone’s favourite stage, tINI and the Gang will preside with the queen herself tINI leading the pack. One of Germany’s most highly acclaimed female house and techno artists and a protege of Loco Dice and the Desolat crew, tINI is assembling a particularly special line-up for Eastern Electrics.

Black Butter Records make their debut at the festival with their own stage, leading topping their bill with UK garage legend DJ EZ. An undisputed party starter ever since his pioneering hey day, a set from EZ generates about as much fun as is commonly decent, get ready to be taken on a nostalgia trip with some extra bang for your buck. Having seen a meteoric rise in recent years, Black Butter Records is the blueprint for future-facing pop infused dance music. Taking a mix of underground sounds and chucking in a blender with stand out vocalists and undeniably hooky cuts, Eastern Electrics is super proud to have them on board for 2015.

Gloria’s stage, situated on the edge of the Electric City will be helmed by Sink The Pink and XOYO and they proudly present the founding father of house music Lil’ Louis as their first headliner. A pinnacle of the Chicago scene from as young as 16 yrs old, Louis In 1977, organised the world’s first “rave” and there’s still no question of his relevance today. From his groundbreaking house records to his crazy energy behind the decks, you couldn’t be in safer hands for a rave up. To round things off in classic style, UK club institution Sankey’s will be joining with a stage headed up by another UK institution, Steve Lawler. From his highly coveted Cream residency at the age of 22 to his countless high-calibre residencies in Ibiza and around the world, Steve Lawler has been a mainstay on the scene since the dawn of the UK house explosion and will no doubt be bringing the heat to Hatfield House.

Eastern Electrics announce first batch of artists for 2014

Proponents of a low-slung bass-infused house sound, Art Department join the party, alongside BPitch Control head and creative geniusEllen Allien, and deep house luminary and champion of all things soul Kerri Chandler. Chart-topping house upstart Route 94 is on the bill, as is Tania Vulcano, an underground force to be reckoned with, and acclaimed house and techno selector tINI rounds up The Six – but this is only the beginning; Eastern Electrics Festival is curating a lineup of more than 30 acts, soon to be announced.

And now Eastern Electrics Festival can also reveal the location of its new home, Hatfield House in Hertfordshire. Coming to a stately home only 20 minutes outside of London, and only a minute’s walk from Hatfield train station, Eastern Electrics Festival celebrates the very best sounds coming from an electronic music scene that has never been so diverse, exciting or innovative. Providing a majestic setting for an inspirational lineup and rousing party atmosphere, Hatfield House is an impressive backdrop – and a solid home for one of the UK’s most revered electronic music events.

Promoter Rob Star presents the third annual edition of Eastern Electrics Festival this year: “The feedback from the event last year was so good that it made sense to stay in the Hertfordshire countryside, so we decided to relocate to the beautiful Hatfield House. It’s such a great move for us, and comes with the advantage of being right across the road from the train station, so you walk off the train and straight into the festival grounds.

“The new venue also means that we can retain all of the attractions that made last year’s event at Knebworth so special, including the Electric City, the fairground rides, the bespoke stages and our favourite pub the Star of EE. Hatfield House ticks all the boxes for us and we're certain that this will be the first of many Eastern Electrics Festival events here. Welcome to your new EE home!”

Hot Natured Live, Tale Of Us and more set for Eastern Electrics Festival

Known by most for thundering main-stage sets that leave audiences trembling with excitement and exhausted from relentless dancing, Hot Creations have become firm festival favourites in recent years, but the story began nearly a decade ago in dark basements and dusty warehouses of East London. Jamie Jones and Ali Love first performed for Eastern Electrics organisers back in 2005. Five years later Jamie Jones’ infamous collaboration with Seth Troxler and Damian Lazurus at EENYE 2010 remains a point of reference in the history of the escalating underground house scene. Looking to the future, they continue to push boundaries with the launch of new project, Hot Natured LIVE. This audio-visual spectacular sees the distinctive vocal stylings of Ali Love as front-man on lead guitar while Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and Luca C unleash a veritable arsenal of synths, keyboards and pads to a multitude of lasers carving through crowds of uplifted hands. Continuing the alliance from modest beginnings, it is with particular poignancy that Hot Natured LIVE will headline Eastern Electrics Festival main stage on Saturday August 3rd.

With a program that reads more like a catalogue than a line-up, further artists have been announced across the weekend’s festivities. Paco Osuna started smashing dancefloors in his hometown Barcelona, quickly gaining attention from industry leaders with releases on Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8, residency at Ibiza’s Amnesia and place within the inner circle of Sven Vath’s Cocoon. Visionquest’s Shaun Reeves joins Friday’s billing while close consorts Tale Of Us will bring their deep, soulful sounds to Eastern Electrics’ arena on Saturday. Techno rebel Surgeon takes to the stage for LWE and Desolat powerhouse tINI completes Just Jack’s arena. Unstoppable garage-house duo Bicep will take to the main stage early on Friday for eager revelers.

With the UK’s biggest ever house and techno line-up in place, tantalizing details have begun to emerge of the wider festival production. Rumours of an Electric City offering a world of escape including roller disco, maze, dressing-up boudoir and plenty of surprises for those willing to explore. A 24 hour arena with cinema, bars and cafés will provide around the clock reprieve. In addition to the usual festival décor, an electric theme will run throughout the festival with a network of LEDs to beacon party-goers around the site.

Festival Director Rob Star said:

“Having been friends with Jamie and Ali Love for the best part of 10 years and Luca C and Lee Foss more recently, I was so pleased to confirm them as one of the headline acts at our first weekend event. The boys are all incredibly talented musicians and know exactly what it takes to move a dancefloor, as well as how to party! The fact that they have recently sold out 2 shows at Brixton academy, shows just how popular their sound is and I can't wait to see them close the main outdoor stage at Eastern Electrics on the Saturday night.”

Richie Hawtin to headline Eastern Electrics Festival

As a spearhead of Detroit techno's second wave he combines a passion for technology with a determination to push boundaries and explore sound in its purest form. Fusing musical influences from Chicago house and Detroit techno with artistic concepts from the likes of Rothko, he strips back layers and reduces sound to its very essence. Projects such as Concept 1 and his infamous Plastikman pseudonym are now regarded as seminal works of minimal techno. His set at Eastern Electrics will offer music fans a unique opportunity to experience one of the world’s most revered artists in a location steeped in rich musical heritage.

Richie Hawtin

One of house music’s originators Kerri Chandler will also be joining festivities, as will mash-up master and Numbers co-founder Jackmaster along with fellow cohort Spencer. Rising star of Detroit techno Kyle Hall, Chicago mainstay Chez Damier and some of the finest underground talent from Berlin and Rotterdam in the form of Gerd, Tommy Four Seven, Brian Sanhaji have also been announced, as well as some home-grown talent from Matt Tolfrey, Christophe and Lukas.

To spread the love, EE have put together a mega competition with a prize as colossal as the line-up. They are offering one lucky winner (and their even luckier friend) a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Eastern Electrics Festival as a true superstar, with full VIP weekend passes including AAA treatment, on-site artists liaison, drinks, luxury hotel accommodation, transport to and from the festival, a day in a luxury spa following the festival finale to recover, plus a huge bundle of goodies from artists and labels appearing at the festival including: Goodie bundles from DJ Sneak’s new I’m A House Gangster project, Mobilee, CLR, Dirtybird, Crosstown Rebels, signed and limited edition vinyl, CDs and tickets to exclusive shows. Nina Kraviz has been steadily rising through the ranks of house and techno’s finest. Expect house and techno in all its forms, beautifully delivered to the crowd. Tensnake’s sound of the Hamburg underground combines disco, house and electro-funk – and lights up the dancefloor! Crazy P’s live show is a spectacle of deep underground electronica meets pop – and it’s one of the best shows you’ll see all year. Mannheim’s house maestro Nick Curly brings a musical sensibility to his production. And catch Hot Creations’ Miguel Campbell and resident and house music reinvigorator Richy Ahmed.

Eastern Electrics is working with some of the most progressive and creative club brands to bring it with this festival. And now they can announce that FOUND and Return to the Future vs TRIX will host their own arenas. Add to this to other arenas from Eastern Electrics, 2020Vision, Futureboogie Recordings vs Hands on Decks, Black Atlantic and Krankbrother – and you’ve got one hell of a team!

For the first FOUND event outside of its home at Vauxhall’s Hidden club, the brand will take the new breed of UK house and experimental electronic music to a bigger stage, gelling established world renowned house talents with their grass roots British counterparts pushing the progressive end of the spectrum. And two rising London party brands go head-to-head for the EE0408 VIP arena – Return To The Future with their classic warehouse ethos, against the progressive tones of TRIX –

to keep the party going throughout the day. And there’s even more still to come…

Having launched in August 2008, Eastern Electrics has since hosted three block-rocking events each year. The brainchild of two of London’s most prolific and talented club personalities – mulletover promoter and pub owner Rob Star and FOUND and Hidden man Will Paterson, Eastern Electrics is renowned for high production levels and massive genre-busting lineups.

After four years of innovative lineups, collaborative promotion and rammed events, it was only a matter of time before Eastern Electrics looked forward to their next step, taking the party up a level, with an event that looks set to surpass everything that’s come before it.  Expect this to be London’s biggest summer party!
